Frames You-​Nique specializes in personalized Custom Framing for all your cherished art and photographs. We also create shadow boxes to display your memorabilia. We also have a 5,000 square ft. gallery and gift shop with a wide selection of art (framed and unframed), picture frames, unique gift items, collegiate Items – especially SEC teams, greeting cards galore, and Gainesville/​Lake Lanier art and souvenirs. We always have a variety of seasonal items from yard and home decorations to house and garden flags to patriotic items to holiday gifts. Frames You-​Nique has been in business for over 28 years and on the Square in Historic Gainesville for over 14 years. We participate in all downtown events and invite everyone to enjoy our beautiful Square. During the holiday season we are open seven days a week: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-​Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays; and Noon-​5 p.m., Sundays. We invite you to join us Thursdays, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 20^th and Dec. 4, 11, and 18.

History

Established in 1984.

Frames You-​Nique began as a custom-​framing business and art gallery. It has grown, adding a large retail store offering unique gift items, collegiate gifts (SEC and other teams), greeting cards for all occasions, and already-​made and photo frames.

Business Owner

Donald J. Griffin graduated from Avondale High School and entered the U.S. Marine Corps where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Don opened Frames You-​Nique in Gainesville in 1984 around the Mall and later moved to his current location in downtown Gainesville right on the Square. He has a unique talent for helping his customers choose the very best frames and mats for their artwork or photo. He believes in using only the best materials – including solid wood frames, quality mats, and conservation glass. He says, «You are, not only displaying your artwork and photos, but protecting them as well.» Over the years he has developed a large selection of quality art. Along with this, he’s become quite knowledgeable about artists and their works. Don has been involved in many of the downtown projects and events, including Art in the Square, Mule Camp, Jingle Mingle, and more. He will help you in any way he can.
