Zero stars for the worst customer service ever. Lol Gainesville regal specifically. Unlike other theaters regal is the cheapest and provides the worst customer service. Shitty place and dirty

First time coming here. We don’t go to theatres often due to budgeting so when we go, we expect to have a great time.
Can’t complain here at all. Clean. Nice staff. No lines. (when we went).
Sat in comfort watching Kung Fu Panda 3. Loved it.
It was all free too because Santa Clause had bought the kids two $ 25 Regal gift cards which we used. All three of us got in for free. What a treat indeed.
Give your friends and family Regal gift cards. They’ll love it.

Great theater, clean and not too crowded.
My suggestion to management is to re-​calibrate the touchscreens on the self serve ticket terminals more frequently. We often have to press outside the buttons to figure out how to actually select the buttons on them.

Not to bad usually busy. Lines move quick. Clean restrooms. Many different movies to pick from. Been to better most are worst. Comfortable seating

This is an awesome theatre. It’s clean and has great seating. This is always our go to movie theatre.

This is a decent addition to the Gainesville area. The theatre has options to buy tix outside or inside, though no advertisement for the indoor kiosk so the outside lines get unnecessarily long.
The inside of the theatre is clean and spacious and there are plenty of registers to order snacks from… but the prices are outrageous so I recommend eating before or after your movie at one of the nearby restaurants.
The movie rooms have stadium-​style seating so no worries about whether you will be able to see behind someone’s head. This theatre also has special Saturday 10am showings that are sensory friendly where they allow the kids to move around the theatre, the lights are on and the sound is turned down… you just have to check the Regal website

Let me be honest up front: I hate going to movie theaters. This isn’t the fault of the movie theatre chains, but the fault of people in general. Although Alamo has proved that point otherwise, but I digress. Many years ago I was tainted by a few bad experiences at other theaters, which combined with the advancement of home theater tech, has made the need to attend a thing of the past.
However on this occasion I received free tickets and there was a movie I really wanted to see so I gave it a shot. Boy am I glad I did. The movie theater experience, with the exception of the cost, has changed significantly over the years and it is clearly for the better. The seats are much more comfortable with lots of space in front of you. I also like the elevated view so no one can block it. The concessions are about the same as I remember; popcorn, soft drinks, candy etc. There is a decent deal on soda and popcorn, where if you buy a large size you get free refills, however that is a copious amount which is only good when sharing with multiple people.
The staff were professional and friendly so no complaints on that end. The place was clean and still has that new look. I’m a big fan of the self service kiosks, which are quick and simple to use. I prefer to buy my tickets in advance so picking them up there would be nice.
Altogether it’s a good experience and I will definitely be back if there’s something I must see.

Nice place, but a unorganized staff! We are always, always having trouble with our food orders.
Parking is plenty, place is clean, comfy chairs and its in the perfect shopping center. After the movies we can walk around to the many different stores or let my daughter get wet in the water shoots they have for the kids or enjoy the music.

I like going here because it’s convenient to have all those nice places next door… but that’s pretty much it. I’ve seen 3 movies here, first being Guardians of the Galaxy. That experience was pleasant and made me want to come back. Service at the snack bar in the lobby was fast and we had excellent seats for our showing.
The following 2 times I have come here, to see Ant-​Man and Straight Outta Compton have been less than acceptible. 1 person working the snack bar counter while 10 other workers in uniform walk around. The service took absolutely forever and made us late to our showing (we had gotten there 15 mins early, mind you). The popcorn is, well popcorn so no complaints there but the real fun is when you get in to the movie and notice what looks like smudges on the lenses of the projector. I informed management because when you pay $ 10+ for a ticket and $ 15+ for food and drink you at least expect your experience to be good, but alas no. It was not. The manager did nothing, and when I informed the ticket taker again on the way out, I was referred to the customer service counter. Where I waited. And no one came to help me.
Honestly that probably won’t stop going here, but at least I know not to expect much when I do go.

One word: overrated. With the newer, luxury style theaters so close by, the only reason I’d ever go here again would be if they were the only place showing my movie at the desired time. I went to dinner next door beforehand and carried my leftover bag in with me. I was parked far and wanted to make sure I didn’t miss the start of the movie. The over zealous teen gave me a hard time about my sealed, leftovers bag. The manger came out and I said, ok is there somewhere we can put it during the show? I’m not trying to break any rules, I just don’t want to miss the start of the show. Nope. No flexibility on the outside food rule… AND security sauntered over as though there was going to be a problem. So yeah, I missed the first five minutes of the movie.
I can’t poorly Unilocal review based off their rules. But I do think they could’ve been nicer about it and maybe more accommodating. Maybe not. Either way, this location has far less amenities than other theaters, but they’re still high priced. No thanks.

I like this Regal because I can always get parking and ease of tix is good if ordered in advance. However be warned there is a charge for this. Standing outside is horrible in bad weather. Avoid line and go in and get tix from kiosk. This is not 1989 people. Do it! Don’t wait!
The actual theatre is large and I never have issues getting a decent seat. The concession stands are ridiculously overpriced. This last visit the guy taking tickets was doing searches of all purses and bags for food or drinks. The lady in front of me had hand held wallet and he made her open it up. That’s a bit extreme. I didn’t buy any food or candy because we had just eaten dinner. However, I have bought popcorn in past and it did not taste fresh.
The movie seats are comfortable. The sound level was deafening during previews. People were complaining and it was turned down for the actual movie.
Overall, if you are going for a movie it is a good experience. Also will share you can buy movie tickets at Costco for cheaper. Be careful because some attendants accept the passes for newer movies and some don’t.

A newer addition to the awesome selection of stores and locations at the Gainesville Plaza. Soooo excited we finally have a movie theater here that is both big enough to fit a large audience and is actually very well put together!
Comfortable seats, awesome food and wait staff, clean bathrooms, and some great films to check out for the first time or if you’re a movie addict (like me) ALL THE TIME!

Incredibly disappointed with this place.
Randomly decided to do a 10pm showing and since this was the closest place it’s where we went purely out of convince. We usually go to the Cinemark (previously a Rave) in Centerville, where we have become a little spoiled with the large, amazing recliners. Additionally we usually go for the early bird showtime (the first showtime of any day) which runs for a great deal at $ 5.65 a ticket. They also have discount day on Tuesday where the tickets are the early bird price all day. The standard rates are $ 11.40.
At this location which I realize is a Regal, other than gathering points via their rewards card there seem to be few other options in getting discounts on tickets. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Their matinée runs for $ 10 and a regular ticket is $ 12.50. Rather steep in my opinion.
You would think the prices between these two places would be the opposite. In Centerville (which has entirely been remodeled now and isn’t even recognizable) you are getting a great deal for incredibly comfortable seats.
Here you are paying an arm and a leg for incredibly uncomfortable seats. I was appalled with how little leg room I felt I had, and arm space between seats. It felt so cramped it was almost claustrophobic and I’m not one to usually feel that way. I spent the entire movie repositioning, trying to get comfortable, but to no avail. At least the movie we chose was good.
Oh and the popcorn was both stale and burnt. It was a bit better on the refill but only the top was fresh, not even half way down it was all stale again.
NEVER AGAIN. Even if Centerville ups their prices it’s worth it for the comfy seats and great popcorn that has never been stale or brunt and I usually go there once a week.
They get 2 stars instead of 1 because the clearly swamped kids working there were very nice. They had only one person selling tickets and only one person inside selling and serving concessions, which as expected each had long lines.

Nice seats, the floor isn’t sticky, sunday night it’s deserted.
Pro tip, put your tickets from the machine inside the door.

We just got home from the new Jurassic park movie, this new regal has some good points and some bad, the isles were very wide so if someone wanted to get that last minute popcorn which is six for a small one eight for a large they don’t hit your legs as they go by. The sound system was REALLY loud so maybe if you like it REALLY loud this is a good selling point. now the screen is really big so that was nice, but the texture of the screen itself is odd, maybe that is for the three D moves I have not a clue but every time the movie had a lightness to it like a sky it would fuzz out the movie and who ever was standing in that part of the picture it was so distracting I had to force myself not to look at it, I don’t know if it was just this room number six or if they all are like that.
The chairs are nice and they are padded and rock a little but if you are short the head rest hits you in the wrong spot so both myself and my friend (both five foot) came out with a sore neck and back. My tall husband had no issues with it. The theater was not to cold which I do find in some theaters. Oh the popcorn we were next in line at one pm on a Tuesday and got so tired of waiting just walked away was not in the mood to pay that much for more then likely stale popcorn anyway oh and a bottle of water five bucks.
I will not go back shame…

This theatre is pretty nice! Last time we went there though the theatre hadn’t been cleaned… it was pretty gross. But after we left the movie, we were given free tickets bc the theatre hadn’t been cleaned up in time. That was really nice.
It’s in a nice location — an up + coming outdoor shopping area.

I go to see movies in a theatre about once or (at most) twice a year. Was very happy that one of those times was here. Super nice, very pleasant staff, tasty popcorn.
The Auditorium was very clean and very well maintained, I enjoyed my entire movie watching experience.

When they first opened it was better, but now… ehh: /
Cleanliness is an issue. Although one of the mangers has super long pretty hair, I find it a little gross to have it lose and flipping it around while filling the popcorn. I also find it gross to drop the scanner from the register in my popcorn and to not replace the $ 8.50 popcorn. Overall, the front food end needs some help. The bathrooms were clean and the theater itself was okay, but there are other places around town that totally blow this place out of the water and I think I will just go there next time.

What’s not to like?
A new theater, quick service to get you in. Don’t let the full parking lot and long lines intimidate or dissuade you. They are efficient to get you moving through the line.

The concession line… not so fast.
On a Friday evening it was packed. We went to see Judge which was shown in a medium size theater. You get to sit thru 20 minutes of movie previews.
Overall it was a good expereince.

Finally made it over to the new theater in Gainesville, VA — it’s located in the new section of Virginia Gateway — «The Promenade at Virginia Gateway.»
A friend and I went to see «Thor: The Dark World» on a Wednesday evening for the 8:50 pm showing. I bought my ticket online via Fandango and used the digital ticket on my iPhone for admittance.
The concession stand area is your traditional array of extravagantly over-​priced offerings. I bought a small bottle of water.
Thor has been out for over a month now — so we virtually had the theater to ourselves on a Wednesday night! There were four of us total watching Thor.
The seating and theater was very clean and very modern. The digital projection is 4K I believe. Everything looked incredibly crisp and the sound system was excellent. The Men’s restrooms were also very clean and well maintained.
I am thrilled there is a Theater in Gainesville so close to me! No more drives to Manassas to see movies!
