Sales every April & October include 500,000+ books, plus comic books, vinyl records, DVDs, CDs, art, games, & more.

Open for donations Mon-​Thurs 9am-​3pm, and Fri & Sat 9am-​noon.

We are 100% volunteer run non-​profit organization. All profits from the sale go to the Alachua County Library District and to literacy projects in the community.

Possibly the best Booksale you’ll find anywhere… And there’s a great selection of music and games too!
The sale is held twice a year, and my wife and I haven’t missed it once for five years now– even though we have to drive up from Miami. They have such a large selection of books that throughout the sale over the first two days they are constantly bringing out new titles. Things start to peter out a bit on day 3 though, but that’s why their prices drop from a low of 25¢ to 10¢.
Most books are in excellent condition. Great selections of cookbooks, travel, art, philosophy, gardening … ah, heck, everything, really!
Here’s a tip… Avoid the long opening lines on day one… They restock books often.

Best book sale ever. Twice a year and I can see why people come from other states to shop it. I’ve gotten tons of great books for very cheap. I like these people and they support the library, which is even better.

Went to the FOL book sale and it was insane! Tons and tons of people crowding around to buy books? Who knew?
Anyway, when these book sales are happening (which I guess is only a couple times a year, maybe less) you can get a bunch of good media – books, records, CDs, etc – for next to nothing. I bought six books and six CDs today for thirteen dollars.
All the stuff is housed in a massive warehouse and luckily, is separated by genre. Avoid it if you hate crowds, but be aware that braving a crowd would be worth it in this case. Even with the people, the sale is organized very well.

Went to the FOL biannual book sale. The location on Main Street is a huge warehouse building where they store books all year round and twice a year hold a huge book sale. So huge people start lining up the evening before and sleep in the parking lot until the line is a half a mile long (or longer! I didn’t see the end) in the morning.
The volunteers put in a lot of time for the book sale and it shows. Very, very well organized. The building is nice but HOT — no A.C.
