They made my wedding cake, it was beautiful and delicious! The top of my cake was frozen and cannot wait to eat it on my one year anniversary. I got to sample the flavors with my then fiancé, we chose a three tiered cake with a backup cake, flavors: 1 tier raspberry and two tier lemon. The design was exactly what I wanted, simple with a pop of color! Thank you Custom cake Design!

Custom Cake Design made the most exquisite wedding cake for my daughter’s wedding. It was a beautiful rustic design with flowers cascading down the side. Everyone at the wedding raved at how moist and delicious the cake tasted. The price was extremely reasonable. I have never tasted any cake so delicious. I will order all my cakes from them in the future! A+++

I came across Custom Cake Design on Unilocal and saw the good ratings. As a result, I decided to try them out for my daughter’s 5^th birthday cake. Custom Cake did not disappoint. The cake was beautiful and the taste was amazing. I highly recommend Custom Cake for your cake needs!

Custom Cake Design made my wedding cake. Not only was it BEAUTIFUL, but it was delicious! Two tiers were lemon with raspberry filling and 1 was almond. We were able to sample all flavors and discuss our theme and ideas with the staff who were so sweet and helpful! Would definitely recommend. I have eaten half of the top layer (anniversary cake) and will probably order a redo of it!

I orderd a Baby Shower Cake for my sister’s baby shower. AlI correspondences with Raquel were done via telephone and email since I live in New York and the shower was taking place in Maryland. I explained to Raquel what flavor cake I wanted as well as the filling and design of the cake and what I asked for is exactly what I received when I picked up the cake. The cake was beautifully decorated as well. Raquel even allowed my sister to come in for a cake tasting prior to ordering the cake. Needless to say, the cake was so moist and the raspberry filling… yum! Everyone at the shower enjoyed the cake and my sister and I could not stop eating the cake. If I lived in Maryland, I would definately order another cake from Raquel and the satff at Custom Cake Design. Job well done!

My first cake from Custom Cake Design was over 3 years ago. They made my grandsons birthday cake. It was exactly what we wanted! It was definitely the hit of the party. It was just incredibly decorated, as well as incredible tasting. Since that first experience, I’m hooked. I have been back for bridal shower cakes, baby shower cakes, and plenty more birthday cakes. I have also ordered cake pops for classroom parties — that was a huge hit! The owner and employees go above and beyond to insure each and every cake is exactly what the customer wants. I know because I have referred many friends, and they too have been ecstatic. I’m happy to have found my favorite bakery

I am sorry I have to write this as Custom Cakes has done two cakes for me previously that were wonderful. I had an engagement party for my daughter yesterday and had arranged with custom cakes to do a cake for her. Raquel and I emailed back and forth for almost two weeks, with my latest email several days before the event. I asked her if we were all set, she assured me we were a GO and that she would see me the following Sunday before 2pm, our agreed upon time for me to pick up the cake. She said she would let me know if she had any questions. I was running around all day getting things ready for the party for 85 people and at 1:30 I went to get the cake. Raquel looked at me blankly as I said I was there to get my cake. Nothing. No cake. I said I’ll pull up my emails to show you, whereupon she pulled hers up. There it all was. All our conversations about what the cake was to be, when I would be picking it up. And zip. She looked blank. I was angry and I told my daughter we would leave, as I’m sure if I stayed I would’ve said something I would regret. She said this hasn’t happened before, and yet made no apology, she simply let me walk out with no attempt to try to remedy the situation. I honestly expected a hurried call or email from her on my way home, saying either, I will hurry and get something to you for the party or I will honor a discount or a free cake for some future event to make for it. Nothing. Very, very surprised. I am sorry to say I thought I found a wonderful baker for any future event but now I can not trust that she will follow though.

Custom Cake Design is amazing!!! I found them on Unilocal and saw all of the great reviews do I decided to use them for my best friend’s bridal shower cake. I found a picture of a beautiful stiletto sandal on Pinterest, sent the picture and asked if it can be replicated. The owner said yes we can but I didn’t realize it would taste just as amazing as it looked!!! I believe the replica of the cake I found turned out to be greater than I hoped for!!! It was raved about in the bakery after it was made and it was more raved about after everyone ate it at the bridal shower!!! I will definitely be using Custom Cake Design for ALL of my special occasion cakes from now on!!!

I am late but they made my Wedding cake for October 18, 2014 and I provided a Picture of how I wanted my cake and the end results were perfect and Delicious. I was tempted a couple times to eat my top layer :)
They are very flexible with designs, so dont hesitate or think they would look at you crazy because she made my day special for a good Price. They are also patient because i changed my design at the last minute and when my husband wasnt able to make it to the tasting they wrapped him up a plate to make it easy for us.

I ordered last minute a cake for my son fourth birthday. I really wanted to like this place but like previous person review the design was wonderful but the cake was not tasteful at all I felt like I was eating giant cake and payed double price for it. Kinda upsetting I wanted to use this for my daughter first birthday but don’t think we will be using this place lack of taste it was very dry. Not moist at all :-(

2 stars for the design. I ordered a cake for my daughter’s baptismal. No doubt the design was impressive, but the taste of the cake itself? It tasted like a dry, plain pound cake, no frosting, no layers, just a block of white cake. If layer frosting was an additional charge, i really hoped that it was discussed or suggested due to the thickness of the cake. Without a doubt i would gladly pay for extra. I spent $ 140 for a mid size sheet of cake, only 2 slices were eaten, I was planning to use the leftovers into pop cakes, but time didnt permit me. The rest of the barely touched cake was thrown to trash. Waste of money. The guests preferred the other cake. I am looking for a first bday cake this time, not coming back here. Sorry.

CCD recently made a smash cake for my daughter’s 1^st birthday. It was beautiful. Exactly the cute owl design we were looking for based on our discussion with CCD. We selected Chocolate Raspberry for the smash cake and matching strawberry cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting. The cake and cupcakes were phenomenal. Even our photographer was very impressed with the moist and delicious cake. Typically beautiful wedding /​photo cakes are horrible tasting but this blew away my expectations. Absolutely delectable! I would highly recommend CCD for special events, weddings, birthday parties, etc. I will be ordering again!

Run, don’t walk to Custom Cake Design! They made us a very special custom cake, was only $ 40, and was absolutely delicious and moist! I would not only HIGHLY recommend them to others, but if I ever need a cake for any other event, I know exactly where I will be returning! The staff was beyond friendly, very helpful, and the cake was beautiful and amazing (did I already say delicious)! :) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! My wife and I came to custom cake design for their tasting day and were blown away by how moist and great tasting their cakes are. We purchased a 2 tier cake that was ready on time and a hit at our wedding. The bottom was the vanilla raspberry and the top was white vanilla. We served both tiers and our guests loved the cake. We will definitely buy any and all cakes from here for future events. Very helpful and knowledgable staff.

I ordered a smash cake, cupcakes, and cookies from Custom Cake Design and I have to say I was Extremely Happy with how everything turned out. I extremely picky with the particular designs i wanted and was searching around the the Montgomery county area and after getting quotes and design approvals I decided to go with CCD because they were by far the cheapest AND they approved each design and detail i wanted for the cake, the cupcakes and the cookies. most importantly their customer service was outstanding! Raquel was EXTREMELY nice!!! They did an amazing job! the theme was monkeys and bananas! the cupcakes were made exactly how i had asked them to! the frosting even tasted like bananas! and the smash cake was Perfect! The cookies were shaped like bananas and they looked and tasted amazing! The taste was Delicious! it was like a sweet taste of heaven! I would recommend this place to Everyone I know. They are passionate with their work and creativity! There prices are great!

Custom Cake Design made my cake for my Bridal Shower this past weekend. I loved everything about my cake. It looked amazing and it tasted more amazing. My cake got messed up driving home and I took it back to them and they fixed it for me with no problem. I definitely recommend them because they are very talented and professional. This bakery is amazing! I called them 3 days before my event after the previous baker turned out to be unreliable and incompetent. I wanted a detailed teapot cake for 50 people for my grandmothers 100^th birthday party. They took the order on such short notice and went above and beyond my expectations. I couldn’t believe they were able to do in just 3 days. The cake was a huge hit and everyone was blown away by it. It tasted great! I will definitely order from them again, with more advanced warning next time. They were a pleasure to work with and made my grannys 100^th birthday even more memorable.

Tasty and pretty! The ladies at Custom Cake Designs helped me for my wedding by making 4 different types of cupcakes and they were a huge hit. Raquel was great ahead of time too with setting up a taste testing. The team was also a huge help by assembling cupcake wraps around all of the finished products for us. Delivered on time and everyone was a pleasure to work with.

This place was one of the highlights of my wedding.
I was planning my wedding from out of town and nervous that the cake wouldn’t be exactly what I wanted simply because it would get «lost in translation» from the distance. I’m also exceptionally picky yet not exactly a cake expert so I can tell you what I don’t like but maybe not exactly what I do. The owner was able to ask me some very pointed questions, send me pictures to say «yes» or «no» for specific elements. She ended up creating exactly what I wanted. Her experience in the industry is evident.
More than that, she gave me an amazing price. It was the ONE thing in my wedding that came in under budget. The taste was great (Almond was exactly what I had in mind). The only frustration in the whole process was when I attended the open house. Expect that you will have to wait a while for a consultation and that the queue isn’t precisely managed. I was more sensitive to that because I had flown from out of town for it. However, when I spoke up everyone quickly accommodated me.
The owner was a pleasure to work with. I even saw her slip out after delivering my cake and she happily smiled and waved with her delivery guy (who I assume is her husband?). I could not have had a better experience!
