Unfriendly environment, if you ask to use coupon almost all of them get offended. If you are not native speaker, it is very obvious the store staff get so impatient. Pharmacist with heavy Persian accent is awfully a disadvantage to this low grade store. Always complains to the other colleagues how bad is CVS. Transferred all prescriptions to Kentlands Giant Pharmacy.

Sitting here waiting for a prescription refill and hear calls for pharmacy coming in but one pharmacist is out front talking with an old colleague about how bad CVS is. I wonder if I would sit here for less time if she wasn’t doing that.

Sorry, Dee (the reviewer just below me), but you have obviously never met ZAHRA, the tech who works at the CVS pharmacy in Darnestown! I really really really wanted to patronize CVS ever since they stopped selling tobacco products, and i live very close to this particular store where my husband and I get our prescriptions filled. However, I stopped in a few weeks ago for a Shingles vaccine and ZAHRA, the pharmaceutical tech that I spoke with looked at my insurance information online only and said my Blue Cross didn’t pay for the vaccine. (I thought this was odd since my plan covers all other medicines.) She then said, that will be $ 345. She was rude and disinterested in helping me decipher the reason that I was expected to fork over to CVS this amount of money. Of course, I left there and went directly to Giant, where they smilingly said they would call Blue Cross to ensure the coverage. Not five minutes later, they said all was fine, and they would be happy to administer the vaccine in their very private vaccination room! It was much better than the very public area where CVS would have administered it (since they don’t use the Minute Clinic for this purpose)! Just a week ago, I returned to CVS on an early weekday afternoon when there were only three other customers in the store. I went to pick-​up my automatically renewed prescriptions and, yup, there was ZAHRA again at the register. She absolutely does not know how to crack a smile or make me feel like she was glad for my visit or patronage. She isn’t warm, empathic, or friendly at all. If anything, even fulfilling a business transaction with her is downright depressing. And, by the way, I was supposed to pick up two prescriptions that their texting service told me in advance were ready. However, ZAHRA only handed me one, and when I asked where the second prescription was, she forlornly shuffled away – without even answering me – and had the pharmacist on-​duty fill the second prescription that I was told was already waiting for me. ZAHRA is absolutely the worst pharmacy staff member I have ever encountered, and I’m about to take my prescriptions to Giant because of her disinterest and rudeness in serving me.

Avoid the Minute Clinic. I waited for 1 hr. 45 minutes before leaving. Three patients were seen ahead of me and the third was still with the nurse practitioner. It made me question the overall competence of the nurse. Additionally, the intake IT system took patients an average of 13 minutes to complete. There was no communication from the nurse practitioner on wait times and the CVS managers could have cared less that clients were dissatisfied. I gave this location one star only because there was no option to give zero stars.

Fill your prescription at a different location. The pharmacy staff here is borderline incompetent and unapologetic. On numerous occasions they have miscommunicated the availability of my prescription causing me to run around to various cvs’ to fill my script at the last minute b
Avoid the pharmacy team here, they’re sure to foul you up along the way.

I don’t understand… If you have an advertised closing time of 7:30, then why not take patients until 7:30? This is what I ran into at this Minute Clinic just now. I had to work all day, and looked online to see when I could get to Minute Clinic. The closing time is 7:30, according to their website. So I arrived at 7:15 to sign in. There was nobody else waiting. I go through the sign in process at the computer, and the last step says they are sorry but they are not taking any patients as the wait time would extend past their closing time. 15 minutes? Seriously? What they should then put on their advertised closing statements is «clinic closes at 7:30, last sign in at 7:00» or whatever time they choose. Something to that effect, at least. I mean, where I work, we close at 6, but if a customer walks in at 5:45 we don’t tell them to come back some other time because they didn’t give us enough time to get our ducks in a row! No, we welcome them, and we wait for them… Because they are the customer!

The store is pretty good I would give it 3.5 stars. However the pharmacy… Long wait times and lack of customer service. I’m always told a 30 min wait and I never see anyone waiting!
Today was icing on the cake, I came in after surgery w/​bandages and all with 2 scripts, I was told 30 min wait because pharmacist was going on lunch and there was 6 refills ahead of me. Thanks for the lack of compassion and lack of customer service.

Forget what you might have read somewhere about it being possible to negotiate prescription drug prices. CVS will not budge. I have to pay out of pocket for one med and I asked the clerk what was the difference between the insurance and retail prices she said no difference. I asked if they would meet Costco pricing, nope, they won’t. When I mentioned I was a furloughed Fed, she said ‘no if’s’ although I did not pose an «If» question at any time in an effort to get a better price on that medication. The upshot is that after several years of using this pharmacy and the Minute Clinic, I am terminating my relationship with CVS.
Edit: WTF? I went to pick up the last Rx my dr phoned in but it was not ready after one week! Is this some new practice by pharmacies, not filling an Rx until the customer shows up to pick it up? I hope not!
Edit 2: As has been mentioned on the news several times, Costco’s pharmacy has the lowest prices and you do not have to be a member of Costco to use their pharmacy.

CVS’ minute clinic saved the day. I stopped in on a weeknight to talk to a staff member about a bug bite on my leg. The associate told me to get to an Urgent Care clinic right away and I’m so glad I did. Turns out it was a tick bite! I was in & out of CVS in less than five minutes & on my way to Urgent Care. I’m really grateful for the prompt service I received. Kudos to this CVS.

I will NEVER go to this location again. What bunch of incompetent boobs. I went on a Monday to the Minute Clinic here, which transmitted 2 scrips and handed me a 3^rd signed one I’d have to give at intake. The lady said 15 – 20 minutes, and they weren’t crazy busy. I’m sick as a dog and coughing up a lung, but busy myself w email, Facebook, etc. Feels like it’s taking a while… what, it’s been an HOUR? I get in line to ask. The one person in front of me, it takes at least 5 minutes to check out a few items. Routine, no price checks, and just picking up a scrip they dropped off yesterday. Prob w their scrip. Five more minutes later it’s finally my turn.
The lady at the counter is apologetic and nice, and digs around for my scrips, that were all clearly marked as «waiting». Nothing. Asks one of the 3 pharmacists, and the mad scramble to START filling them begins. She returns and rings them up. As I start to leave, I double check, and find one missing. Scrambles again… nothing…asks for the scrip copies from Minute Clinic. She says I needed to hand the signed one in… I say I did… she asks why it was handed back to me, they needed to keep that signed copy… umm, how would I know? Scrambles to fill that one, for robitussin w codeine. Rings me up… says oh you used to live iat xxx… umm, no… shows me the bag w my info. Nope, not my info… name was close, address is halfway across the country. They didn’t even notice that they put the scrip in the wrong name, for a narcotic.
I was in and out of Minute Clinic in 15 minutes, tops. I finally left the CVS pharmacy 1 hr, 25 mins after leaving the intake desk. Never. Again. 1 star… because zero isn’t an option.

I have an electronic 12 month coupon for my RX. Every month I have to remind the pharmacy that I have the coupon in their system when I drop off the prescription. Every month I have to remind them again of that coupon when I pick up the medication so they can reprocess it again or they will charge me full price. Eight months into the coupon year and 16 reminders on my part. Really???

Many of the employees working there have been at this location for (3) or more years… that says a lot about a CVS franchise. You will pay a premium like you do at all CVSs but their inventory is solid, their customer service is excellent and there is rarely a long wait. Plenty of parking and located by several good restaurants and a Capital One Bank.

Sometimes it is really worth being «stuck» out in the suburbs! This is amazing (almost unbelievable, actually) — I found a nice, clean, well-​stocked and organized CVS with (wait for it!) helpful, friendly and customer service oriented staff! Toto, we’re not in DC anymore!
Seriously, in 10 years of living in DMV, I have not come across a single CVS where at least one employee was not surly, or where there was not a long disorganized line at the registers, or where everything seemed to be in its place. However, I stopped at this brand new CVS twice this weekend — once to pick up several items, and a second time to return one of the aforementioned items. I saw and overheard several interactions between staff and customers. Toto, we might be in Kansas — no one in DMV is that friendly!!! When I asked about the location of facial tissue, I was kindly pointed to a large display and even helpfully told that Puffs were on sale for $ 1.69!
This store was so large, clean and well-​lit that I was quite tempted to just wander the aisles and spend oodles of money on unnecessary nail polish, Easter candy, soda, toothbrushes (highly necessary after so much sugar), random office supplies and cheapie sunglasses.
NOTE: Even the CVS website does not have the correct address of this place. It is no longer in the Potomac Valley Shopping Ctr. It is conveniently located between the California Tortilla/​YogiCastle and Safeway on Darnestown Road. So, if driving east on Darnestown, cross Quince Orchard, it’ll be to the right soon after the Chevy Chase Bank. But if you’re driving south on Quince Orchard, turn right onto Darnestown.
NOTE 2: Because these are the far out suburbs, I do not believe that this CVS (nor anything else around here) is open 24 hrs.
