I have purchased 3 laptops and brought my computer exclusively here to do all my repairs.
They now charge $ 40 for a diagnostic and forget about a repair, let alone diagnostic being «fast».
I brought my laptop in for a repair. The front desk lady was rude and the tech guy seemed like he could care less, like he wasn’t getting paid enough to speak be talking to me. They told me they would call me back the following day to let me know what was going on. I had to call the next day. They had 2 computers in queue ahead of me and they informed me it would take another day, so 2 days just to run a diagnostic, which takes under 10 min to run.
This place is no longer about helping customers, it’s all about $$$ and that’s it.

I love going to this place when it’s come to my apple devices it’s super close to home and it’s beats the online appointment you have take to Apple you can walk in and receive help right away and well there a apple authorized reseller so while you get you mac fix hey buy a new one to. But I love the work they gave me once back in 2014 for my white MacBook and again a few days ago with my iMac this guys are great

I would take my apple product here before I would ever consider an Apple Store or an Apple ‘genius’. These guys know their stuff. I marked it as pricey because apple gear is pricey, not MBS. They do their best to outbid apple, but that’s not the main reason for going there. I’ve bought 28 systems from them, 4 for myself, 24 for clients and friends. They burn in the machines if you ask them to. They know the issues, and the software and are up on the latest accessories. I like to think of them as my ‘guinea pig’ because they test all the gear i’m thinking of getting but don’t yet know how good or bad it is.
These guys are GREAT (sales AND service)!

I went the they’re location in Frederick Md over the weekend possible to buy a tablet. I don’t know who the service guy was at the front counter, but he said he a many years experience with Mac products. As I started asking questions he pulled his cell phone out and started reading texts or emails from his phone… no excuse me this is very important .as if i didn’t even exist. He kept doing this the entire conversation…. I called Suny who said he was the owner and he said he would look into it and what could he do to win my business if anything. I did call Suny a couple of days later and told him what i was looking for and give me a price… ZERO Response ! We would have bought tablets over the 2016 year .I guess these guys have to much business to really care !

You decide. Yes, they fixed my MacBook Pro… It needed a new hard drive. I brought it there instead of the Apple Store because they promised they would have a diagnosis for me within 24 hours. After about 5 days and 2 messages, I still had not heard anything. On the 6^th day I called and they still had not yet looked at it. On the 7^th day I called again and they informed me it that it was a cable issue and said it would be finished by the end of the day. On the 8^th day they told me the hard drive went after they replaced the cable and it would take another day. At the end of the 9^th day, I called again and was finally told I could pick up my laptop. When I arrived at the center I received my laptop and it was literally being held together with scotch tape (which I did not notice until I arrived home). I was so distracted by the runaround I was given when I asked about my old hard drive. Basically the guy threw my hard drive on the counter and stormed off. I guess he was offended for some reason — I really don’t know why. Anyway, I am currently typing on the laptop they repaired which is is literally being held together with scotch tape. When I called to ask for the screws for my laptop they put me on hold for about 15 minutes and I gave up.
I think next time I will stick with the Apple Store and wait in the line.

I can’t be more appreciative to MBS and in particular to Claudio! I was there when the door opened at 9am as my daughter’s computer from a local college had crashed the day before while updating her operating system to El Capitan on her MAC… BIG MISTAKE! Never do that just before a midterm or when you haven’t backed up any of your semester documents. To say I was in a panic at 9am from the night before when the Apple store at Montgomery Mall said they couldn’t retrieve any of my daughter’s documents, I was panicked as was my daughter. And of course, she had 2 papers due last night at midnight. Claudio was my savior! He understood our urgency and worked to restore her documents and restore her computer to prior to the upgrade. Under normal circumstances I know I would have waited for a few days, but his personal touch and knowing my daughter was frantic with midterms, he took it upon himself to store the computer. He promised it at 1pm (4 hours later) and in fact it was ready at noon (3 hours). This type of customer service goes along way in my book and I will never forget the experience I had with Mac Business Solutions and will recommend them to all of my friends! Went in to get my iPhone 6 plus iSight camera replaced since my phone’s serial said it was eligible. Technician looked at my phone and said my camera was fine and I said then why does Apple’s website say it needs to be replaced. I had then proceeded to have to show him that it can’t focus when I attempt to take a picture of something up close. It wasn’t super messed up but messed up. He finally agreed something is not right. They said Apple doesn’t allow them to stock that part in their store so they had to order it and it usually takes a day to come in. It’s been 9 days and nothing. A couple of issues here. First, I had to do a lot of convincing to get my camera fixed. The tech said it was fine. Well if it was fine Apples website would not say my serial was affected. Just fix it so we can move on with our lives. Second, don’t tell me the part comes to you the next day to get my business. Maybe it does but someone dropped the ball on this. I only went to get this fixed at this location out of convenience cause it was near my work and the Apple Store was further away. Maybe this place doesn’t care to do stuff under Apple warranty cause they don’t make a lot of money on it. Who knows. Moral of the story, if your device is under Apple warranty just go to the Apple Store cause their techs actually know what they are doing. Thanks for wasting my time.

I absolutely recommend this place! I was having issues with my MacBook and scheduled a Genius Bar appointment at an Apple Store but the first date they had available was 6 days out! I took it here instead and they were able to determine it was a warranty issue and replaced the logic board and had it back to me before my appointment with the Apple Store was even scheduled! Plus, all the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. This place is highly recommended!

The staff is friendly, and the service fast. Went in to get my iPhone 5 battery replaced. To do this you have to go in, get the iPhone tested (5 min), then they order the battery. They gave me a call the next day that the part came in, so I walked in (no appointment necessary) and had a fixed iPhone in less than 20 minutes. Fast, reliable and helpful. They were also friendly and accommodating to the other customers that walked in.

I went here when my iPhone 5 wouldn’t charge. John took a long time diagnosing the problem which was sadly bad news; a dead logic board. He was courteous, as were all of the employees, and took his time for no charge! I ended up buying an iPhone 6 plus later that day from my provider and plan to use MBS for any problems.
I would highly recommend MBS.

Before proceeding, please note that this is my first Mac.
Background:
I was never a Mac person. I only purchased a Mac after my Dell, two HP’s, and my Samsung R580 crapped out and was no longer able to keep up with my ADHD web surfing, my work and study habits. After careful consideration and speaking with PC and Mac owners about my next laptop, I finally decided to give in the the «Darkside» and purchase a Mac. This was near the end of 2013, which makes my Mac a little than a year old — out of warranty.
CRAP!!!
I was working on a presentation for a group of students. Of course, in true professionalism fashion, I procrastinated and waited till the day before it was due. When I create presentations, i open about 20 windows for research and 20 more for various applications, and another 20 for facebook, music, youtube, porn, whatever…
The next day — I do a few touch-​ups and a final review at noon. Presentation due @ 1800. Macbook crashes at 12-f*cking-15. Don’t panic! It’s a Macbook. These things never fail… so I’m told.
SYMPTOMS:
No power at all. Complete crash. Shut down. No LED. No Nothing. Just a big — «YOU AIN’T GONNA HAVE DIS SH*T DONE IN TIME AND I’LL MAKE SURE OF DAT!» on the blank black screen. No Power. No Nothing.
TIMELINE:
1215 — F*CK!!!
1230 — Went to Best Buy.
1250 — Arrived at Best Buy. Signed in at the counter where there was only one customer ahead of me, and about 5 «Techs».
1300 — Tech looks at sign in sheet, looks at me, walks to the back and disappears.
1305 — Tech walks back out. Scratches his balls. Walks away.
1320 — Asian guy checks sign in sheet. Looks at me. Walks to the back and disappears.
1325 — Both guys come to the front, «Can we help you?», I answer, «I hope so» and proceed to explain. They take it to the back, plug it in and say that it would be about 30 minutes for a diagnostic test.
1400 — I return and was told that it was probably the «power-​chip», or a burnt out motherboard. It’s out of warranty, so it will cost around $ 300.00 — 400.00; they would need to send it out to a shop in Kentucky (really — the dude said, «We’d need to send this out to Kentucky.»)
1401 — F*ck.
1410 — After sitting in my car in the parking lot of Best Buy for about 10 minutes, I finally stopped chewing on my tongue and grinding my teeth (because my other laptops crapped out right before major presentations and papers were due. I’m f*cking cursed) and I got on my phone and looked for options.
1500 — Went to Micro Center where I was told that I may have to consider having it shipped out for repairs because it’s not even charging.
1530 — Found MBS online, read a few of their reviews and decided to call. A dude named Frank answered and said, «Bring it in, we’ll check it out and go from there.»
1600 — Arrived at MBS, completed the form for diagnostics, and Frank says — «It’s not even powering up? Unfortunately, there’s a lot of other people ahead and I can’t open it up right away, but we’ll give you a call as soon as I get to it.»
1601 — F*ck.
1602 — «Frank, dude — I need this. Is there anything you can do?» — He looks at me with sympathetic eyes. He takes a deep breath and says, «Nope.»
1603 — F*ck.
1605 — I come to terms with it. I fill out the form and leave my Mac with Frank.
1606 — I get in my car with clenched fists and proceed home to prepare for the presentation without a presentation. I should’ve backed it up.
1700 — I leave the house, accident happened at the spur, showed up about an hour late to presentation… on professionalism.
1900 — Continued chewing tongue and grinding lips.
PHONE CALL:
A few bottles of whiskey and a couple days later, I receive a call from Frank. «We checked your laptop. There’s no problem with it. Just needed a system restart. It involves the use of a few keys. That’s about it. No charge.» — I couldn’t help, but think, «WTF!?»
SHORT VERSION:
My Macbook crashed at a less than ideal time. Brought it to a couple places before I found MBS. MBS couldn’t get to it right away. A few days later, I received a call from an MBS employee named Frank. Frank tells me that the Macbook is in good condition, nothing is wrong. No charge.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Customer Service was very personable. Everyone I spoke with, including Frank, were professional, but down to earth. No snobbiness at all. I’m giving them 5 stars because it was free… and because they did everything they said they’d do, without any extra expenses. Frank even provided me a printouts of what to do, if it ever happens again.
CONCLUSION:
If you need your Macs fixed, this is definitely the place. They’re knowledgable in what they do. Based on previous reviews, their website and customer interaction, this is all they do. They don’t mess with anything else. They seem to eat, breathe, poop and dream of Macs all day. That’s it. Based on their forms, their out-​of-​warranty service is about $ 100 — 150 per hour, and are licensed to provide service for Apple Limited and Extended Warranty.

When my iMac needed updating I dreaded the thought of buying a new computer, since mine was gently used and was still fine, hardware-​wise. The Apple Store had some high-​cost suggestions for me, so I called Apple Customer Service for an alternative. They directed me to Mac Business Solutions, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
I called MBS first to figure out my next steps and was lucky to have Austin take my call. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, but he explained to me in understandable terms what needed to be done. We had about three options and Austin directed me to the LEAST COST one — how’s that for honesty??? And within that option he went out of his way to keep my costs down. As icing on the cake, when I picked up my computer Austin gave me a detailed explanation of the work he did, and he continued to school me on several steps I could take to combat viruses and do other things to keep my machine running well. I mean he went way above and beyond.
I give my highest, unreserved recommendation to MBS. Don’t let the quiet front of this shop fool you. I got a peek behind the curtain and there is LOTS going on here. The owner must be doing something right, because all of the employees I interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. I learned later this place has been a G’burg staple for over two decades — that should tell you something.
If you have a problem with an Apple product, it’s nice to know there is a local shop that will take very good care of you. These places don’t grow on trees, people!

Do your homework.
I had an iphone 5 that had a power button issue and fortunately it’s covered under Apple’s recall. I read through Apple web site’s instruction to factory reset it, and then brought it over to MBS, who is an authorized Apple location. It was easy, quick and painless. Less than a week later, I got it back.
However I got my iphone back without my Verizon sim card. And now it’ll be another week before Verizon can send me a new one since it’s a business account phone, and not a consumer account. Most people can’t live without their phone for one day, but now I’m looking at 2+ weeks without a phone, without a sincere apology from MBS or any help from them to help me with this problem. They also encouraged me not to get a loaner phone, as the process is complicated and time consuming.
I should have done my own homework on this, rather than relying on MBS.
Apple genius bar, I can’t believe I miss you.

Great service

Excellent service. I brought my laptop in and they were able to fix it right away! A rep named Austin was able to provide ample information! Felt much more confident bringing my laptop into these guys even after talking on the phone with them. Highly recommend trusting these guys with any of your Mac equipment. Wonderful place!

My late 2009 iMac was freezing in such a way that both the Apple start screen and my desktop were visible at the same time. Called Apple Care and went through the steps to determine the problem. The iMac froze again during disk verification. NOW it’s time to call Mac Business Solutions.
Spoke with Austin, related my concerns, and he was off and running. He ran all of the necessary diagnostics, cleaned the fan, and determined that the video card was on it’s last legs NOT the hard drive. Excellent service. I will be a repeat customer.

Great customer service! Replaced my battery much more efficiently than would have happened at the Apple store!!!

I recently took my MacBook to the local Apple store and was told that I needed a new top case and a fan. I was told that this would cost approximately $ 250 to repair and was given the name of a few Mac repair businesses. Because MBS was the nearest one, I went with them. I was so glad that I did.
When I got there, I dealt with Austin, an employee at MBS. He noticed some cracks in my top case and told me that it was probably under warrantee. Sure enough, it was, and it turns out that I didn’t need a new fan, there was just something stuck in my fan. So I got my laptop back just a few hours later with a new top case and a fan that now worked. In short, my 3.5 year-​old laptop looked brand new. And my out-​of-​pocket expense? $ 0. Thanks so much, MBS and Austin, for your promptness and honesty. I’ll be returning in the future.

So I began to freak out at 11 pm when the screen on my MacBook Pro just went out. My computer has my whole life on it (and yes I do have it backed up) but as anyone can imagine I was a bit of a panic when I arrived at Mac Business Solutions the next morning. They were very calm in handling me, which I know couldn’t have been easy, and took my baby to figure out what what going on. I put in for an emergency fix which cost extra instead of the regular couple day turn around. The tech called me in an hour with a diagnosis, it was the LCD and an easy fix that would be fixed in a few hours. True to his word he gave me a call back with my baby up and running! Thank you so much!
Now this wasn’t my first visit with MBS. A few years back on my previous MacBook my computer’s logic board crashed and couldn’t be revived on Christmas Day. MBS was able to recover my hard drive for me with everything on it minus the photos that were in iphoto (but were saved online). I was very grateful that they were able to recover everything that they could. They’re pricing is much better than the Apple Store and other retailers and the turn around is much faster if you need repairs because they do them in house unlike at Apple where they mail them away.
Location: Finding MBS can be a trick because its on the back side of a strip mall at Shady Grove and Gaither Road. Turn onto Gaither and take the 2^nd entrance into the shopping center just past the Chinese restaurant. Drive behind the building and there is MBS with parking.

Completely disappointing.
I brought my MacBook Pro computer here on a Thursday, and was told the machine would be fixed by the following Wednesday. There was an issue with the screen, and the battery needed to be replaced. When I dropped off the computer, I told the technician the problem was either the display or the logic board, and he agreed.
Fast forward to the following Tuesday: I receive a call from the technician stating they cannot identify the problem, and the machine needs to be sent to apple. And, if I want to get the battery replaced, I will need to pay a forty dollar labor charge in addition to the battery. Apple performs the service free of charge!
I will be taking my business elsewhere, but not before I am forced to pay a forty dollar diagnostic fee for telling me what I already knew. They should be paying me!
This business is unethical and unintelligent. Waste of time, waste of money.
