I had a great experience at this Shells gas station today 10÷2÷15. Dropped my car of for a md inspection and got my bcar back on time as promised. The staffs was very professional and courteous. The mechanic who work on my car was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. I would strongly recommend to try it and see it for yourself. KDT

Caused me to waste $ 200 on inspections and several hours of my time.
1^st inspection
Failed for two items
Took me ~two months to fix items — car only driven to and from inspection station/​shop (under 20 miles total)
2^nd inspection
Shows up to appointment 20min late and keeps car for over an hour. Fails on three new items. One being that he cannot road test the car due to the temporary registration being expired. The registration was expired during first inspection and was not an issue for him then. I’m told that there is no way for them to perform the road test, and I will have to bring the car somewhere else. $ 70 down the drain.
3^rd inspection (new place a few days later)
You’d think that the car would pass now that it has been inspected twice, and all repairs have been made. WRONG. The car is failed for two new items (rear view mirror and taillights) that have been on the car from day 1.
Bring your car next door where things are done by the book, better customer service, and it’s cheaper.

Don’t come near this place, their inspection takes forever and even if you took an appointment except to wait for HOURS

Came to evaluate a slow leak in my tire. Service was prompt and they explained what was possibly the problem. A small part was replaced without charge. Appreciate the honest advice. Would recommend and go back again.

Took over an hour to do an inspection that has always taken 30 minutes at other places I’ve gone. Failed on one aspect which they offered to «diagnose» for $ 98. I fixed it in the parking lot in less than 10 minutes as it was just a harness that was disconnected below the dashboard. They then said I would need to make another appointment a different day for the reinspection… to look at a single light… Inefficient crooks, take your money elsewhere.

I came here for an oil change on Saturday, they took me in w. a minute notice and the service was as friendly as it goes. I received a call as soon as my car was done and they did not try to hassle me to getting extra services which I love.

I took my car to the shop on a recommendation from my friend Kevin who owns a transportation company. I believe he actually has a review on here as well. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and expertise in the shop. Their pricing was extremely fair, and my issue was fixed within the day. James was wonderful. I would highly recommend the shop to anyone who is having any sort of car problems. I Drive a 2004 Acura TSX and I know that I’ll be bringing my car there in the spring to fix my AC compressor which has been broken for over a year now. I’m glad to have found a car shop that I can trust that is close to my house. I actually already referred them to a friend of mine who is also having AC problems and she will be taking her car there in the spring as well. Great guys, great shop. Highly recommended I couldn’t be more pleased. But, I had a feeling I would be happy since I trust kevin tremendously

Stopped in because just moved from out of state for inspection questions and appointment. James the service advisor was very nice explained inspection process and was able to perform inspection that day! Also had opportunity to speak with tech who worked on my vehicle, very nice guy who took time to compliment me on my vehicle. Bringing my other car tomorrow. Wonderful group of guys, didn’t try to sell me anything else. I’ll be back!

Went for the first time for oil change without an appointment.
+ Very nice and friendly customer service. That’s a big thing for auto mechanics of this area.
+ Was accommodated right away during a busy Saturday.
+ Was explained various types of oil change products (mine is a Honda Accord v6 that required manufacturer recommended synthetic oil) and pricing.
+ Was offered a very nice 15% discount.
+ Was served in only 45 mins.
++++ The biggest thing was that the car was ready on the minute they said it would be. It was like precision clockwork.
I think my cars have found their caretaker.

Update: in regards to the check engine light turning on, both cars had the same problem. Coincidence? I think not.

Carlos, James, and Luis maintain my fleet vehicles for my company Culdesac Chauffeur. I depend on them to diagnose and repair my vehicles so that I can keep up with the demand of my clients. I have been coming to them for over a year now and have not only been happy with each repair and regular maintenance job, but they are also very kind and pleasant each time!

MD Safety Inspection at $ 69.95. Easy appointment setup over the phone with help of James the night before. The car was taken into the shop right on time. Very friendly staff with James leading the charge. Everything was explained in detail before the job. Inspection done without any hitches.
Would consider the shop for future services.

Called in looking for a place that would look at a car I was purchasing.
I had explained to James, over the phone, what was happening and he was nice enough to see me without an appointment.
Once, I reached there he took his time to explained about Maryland’s regulations in regards to the state inspection. Best of all, he didn’t charge me a dime for taking the time to help me out.
Finally, an honest mechanic that I can trust.

I don’t usually feel compelled to write reviews but that has changed with my experience with Montgomery Shell.
Went in for a state inspection which was moderately priced and was dealt with to my satisfaction.
At no point did i ever feel that i was being duped or messed with.
HOWEVER the reason that i write this review is because of the customer service provided by James! (the Customer Service rep)
In a time where practically nobody in the DMV tries to go above and beyond to help OTHERS (not themselves) James came through big time!
He even stayed with the mechanic after his shift was over to make sure that they did everything possible to fix the only (small) issue with my inspection.
He was always patient, friendly and displayed manners that i had almost forgotten about in this day and age.
He even offered a ride back to my home as I waited for the repair…
This review is not so much for the Service Center (4 stars, solid work) but for James (5 stars!)
Please give this man a raise!!!

I travel to Maryland for business very often and was desperate to find a friendly service station that would not rip me off! After being disappointed by most gas stations and repair services in the area, I finally stumbled upon Montgomery Shell, and I am glad I did.
The staff is very friendly and go out of the way to see that you are served properly. The convenience store is always clean (even the bathroom was always fresh!).
Moreover, the repair staff is knowledgeable and lay out the options for you to decide without forcing extras down your throat which most places tend to.
Even the owner, a young entrepreneurial chap named Aman, is very polite and makes extra effort to see that every task is performed satisfactorily and to the customer’s delight.
I highly recommend this place for your auto care needs. If you’re looking for a long-​term relationship, you will not be disappointed!

I have gone several times to the mechanic here and each time I have gotten great customer service and my car has been running better than ever. They do their job quick and right. I always recommend this gas station to my friends and family for any car repairs they may need!

This station used to be good, but no more.
I got gas here this evening and was ripped off (cheated out of gas points) and treated rudely by a very arrogant and stubborn attendant.
First, my card didn’t work at the pump so I had to go inside. The man inside told me that I must be «doing something wrong» and walked out to the pump with me. He did the same thing I did (twice), pushed the same buttons, and got the same «See Attendant» message. Then he told me we would have to do the transaction inside.
He promised me that I would get all of my Giant gas points, even with the inside transaction. He ran my credit card (he refused to run it as a debit) for the specified amount, then told me I saved 10 cents per gallon on gas today. I was very surprised because I should have saved 6 times that — I had over 600 gas points. He insisted that he could do nothing about it, and that my points must have expired, but gave me a number to call to discuss it with Giant. I called the number and guess what — disconnected.
I got gas anyway — I usually wait until I’m on empty to make the best use of my gas points, then went inside for a receipt and to ask for a number that worked. He insisted that the only receipt he had was the one he gave me for my credit card transaction and that there was no way that I could get a receipt with the number of gallons on it unless I had done the transaction outside, which of course I wasn’t able to do. He also checked the phone number, realized he made a mistake, and corrected the number on the scrap of paper he gave me. He then walked out to the pump and wrote down the number of gallons on another scrap of paper and handed it to me. (I could have done that!) He still insisted that there was no way he could print it from inside the store.
At that point I asked to talk to a manager. He pointed to a guy who was speaking to another customer complaining about bad parts that he had been given on a repair. So while I was waiting I stepped outside to try to call the Giant phone number again. This time I got a recording saying they were only open during business hours Monday through Friday. I went back into the store and the «manager» was nowhere to be seen. The attendant told me that if I was unhappy with the transaction I should have cancelled it before I put the gas in my car. When I asked for the manager I was told that he couldn’t speak to me because he was on an international phone call. I waited another 10 minutes, but no sign of the manager. I repeated my request for a «real receipt» because I wanted to have it for my (future) conversation with Giant in order to verify the number of gallons of gas for which I should have been able to use my gas points. He reached over, pushed a button on the machine and handed me a real receipt WITH the complete information on it, including the number of gallons of gas purchased. When I asked him why he hadn’t done that the first time I asked for it, he stumbled on his words and mumbled that he didn’t know he could do that. Isn’t it his job to know how to print a receipt? He obviously DID know how to print it because he did eventually print it.
I told him that since he lied to me about the gas receipt I thought he was lying about the manager’s availability and about the gas points, but he insisted that he couldn’t get the manager for me. He then slammed his hand down really hard on the counter in an effort to scare me away and very loudly said, «next customer.» I told him this was the worst customer service I had seen anywhere and that I was planning to report him. Still no sign of the manager. I left the store, but will be following up on this. My next stop was Giant, where I spent less than $ 20 and received a receipt telling me that I now have 500+ gas points (100 less than previously since 100 points were used to give me my 10 cent /​gallon «discount»). So I know that my points have not expired as the attendant tried to tell me.
I wouldn’t normally go to this station because they are so much more expensive than others closer to home. But when I have 500 or more gas points, a 50 cent per gallon discount does make their price lower than any of the others.

My tire was leaking air because there was a nail stuck in it, and I just got it fixed from this Shell station. Iman fixed my tire quickly and he was really nice. He let me watch and also explained what he was doing. Thought the service was great!

I visited this station yesterday to get my new (used) car inspected. Lev, the inspector there refused to inspect my car b/​c it was raining. Instead, he promised that I’d be his first customer the following morning. Lev kept his promise and inspected (and thankfully passed) my car the next day! Lev is a wonderful gentleman that clearly knows whats he doing and David was an absolute sweetheart. I’ll be visiting this Shell station again for gas and everything else they offer very soon!

A simple gas station with a friendly, personal touch.
We came in to do a Maryland inspections on our cars — that one-​time, lengthy, costly inspection before they let your car claim a Marylander status. The rules say that a car inspection cannot be done if it is raining, snowing, or otherwise not a perfect-​weather day. Really, those are the MD rules. The people here at the gas station patiently waited for 2 hours for a short break in the weather to start the inspection.
