The Last Crumb of Cake

Im very picky when it comes down to the flavor, texture, and overall quality of cupcakes. I have to say that «The Last Crumb» is now one of my favorite Cupcake bakeries. Some of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. I love every unique flavor. The owner is very friendly, professional about her business & her work. She know what she doing with these cupcakes. I absolutely love this spot!

Thank you, Twila for accommodating the request for my son’s first birthday cake on such short notice! I’ll definitely give you & your staff more notice in the future but the cake was amazing! It was exactly what I envisioned and the guests not only lived the design but ranted and raved about how delicious it was. You and your staff are amazing and we be customers for life.

I came to check out The Last Crumb of Cake for their cupcakes! Owned by Ms. Twila, she also makes made-​from-​scratch specialty cakes, cake pops, sheet cakes, and pound cakes. Ms. Twila was actually in the back, getting a specialty cake ready (a Luau cake), so Ms. Belinda helped me. I loved how the cupcakes and the different flavors were displayed, but it was disappointing that only a specific few were actually available to purchase (as they only sell the fresh ones off the rack). I tried 4 flavors — the Blueberry (tasted more like a blueberry muffin, topped with some blueberries), Myrtle the Turtle (topped with crushed Heath bars and a pretzel), Lemon Lavender (my most favorite, as the combination of lemon and lavender was pretty delicious), and, Strawberry (filled with a strawberry preserve; this was more on the soggy end). The frosting wasn’t too overwhelming, but I wished there was a bit more flavor in them. I’d love to come back and try out the Banana, the Theresa (mint Oreo), and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice. The ladies in here were super friendly and oh-​so-​sweet, and the place is more of a carry-​out.

Found The Last Crumb of Cake doing a google search. I was having an adult birthday party and thought cupcakes would be better than a cake. I was right, but the success was all Twila and her fabulous, wonderfully delicious cupcakes! They were a HUGE hit! This review is way over due, since the party was in March, but had to give my two thumbs up!

The lady behind the counter (major apologies for not knowing how to spell her name!) was super nice and fast.
The cupcakes themselves — I had the red velvet — came with generous dollops of cream cheese frosting, were impeccably moist, and were just overall a good idea. Keep in mind that this was after they’d been refrigerated for a couple of days.
Get them fresh. Now.

Lemon Lavender cup cake is delicious and moist. The bakers are very nice and friendly. Customized our cup cakes for baby shower. Very good customer service.

Finally had an opportunity to visit this popular bakery specializing in cakes, hence the name. Although, I have not personally tried the recent purchase of a half dozen assorted cupcakes due to my newfangled Vegan-​diet, my wife and daughter, the objects for which the cupcakes were purchased, expressed GREAT joy and pleasure while feasting on these delectable delights. My wife in particular, who’s not big on sweets, said the Death by Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Vanilla Peanut Butter cupcakes were all WONDERFUL; our daughter echoed similar sentiments with the remaining cupcakes…
I don’t customarily purchase cupcakes; therefore, I don’t really have a point of reference other than, perhaps the homemade cupcakes my Mother prepared many years ago, which I remember being a bit larger. With this being said, I thought the cupcakes purchased today were a tad small for the price of $ 2.75 (each). Therefore, I’ll deduct one-​star as I don’t think the size actually warrants the price of almost $ 3.00 per cupcake. To be fair, however, I did compare the price of cupcakes at a famous bakery in Tyson’s Corner; the cupcakes at Danielle’s Deserts were a little more than $ 3.00 per cupcake but the size appeared larger and fuller than the cupcakes I purchased at The Last Crumb of Cake.
Nevertheless, I did have an opportunity to chat with the husband/​wife owners, residents of Gaithersburg. Both were a joy to chat with. Much success to their business and son’s educational pursuits. The customer service reflects the owners’ passion for baking, family and community.
I look forward to trying other cakes, particularly during the holidays, family gatherings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

I happened upon LCoC by accident but was the best accident that my taste buds have ever experienced!!! I am so over the cupcake craze but their cupcakes are deeeeliciously fresh and moist and best of all the frosting won’t put you in a diabetic coma. Its a little out of the way but justly so or I would need mythanksgiving pants year round.

It was my first time here. and we made it just before closing ! The lady at the reception was super nice and didn’t make us feel bad about coming so late — instead and gave us six cupcakes for the price of two because she didn’t want to waste them! We got to try six different flavours and also got some time to ask about the ingredients
So they have gluten free options for those of you who don’t eat gluten
They support local businesses and get their flour locally as well the sugar!
Their cupcakes don’t taste like Ur eating something bad at all and usually I can tell … They were pretty decent
I love banana cupcakes so I ate that one and it had a lovely icing and very well balanced soft cake too .
I liked the strawberry one too but my hubby loved the turtle one ! Peanut butter is probably the worst one they have along with this weird bitter one that looks like it’s strawberry flavour !
Overall they were decent cupcakes ! I would def go again to try their death by Choco and maybe get another banana one !;)
I truly miss cupcake dreams and these arent as refined as those cupcakes (no filling ones — basic flavours) but they definitely taste cleaner!

I’ve never been a fan of chocolate cupcakes, but then I tried death by chocolate. Best chocolate cupcake I have ever had. Frosting was perfect and the cupcake itself had a smooth chocolate filling with chocolate ganache pieces. The banana cupcake was banging too, I loved the frosting. Wasn’t a big fan of the vanilla cake pop – it was a bit too sweet for me. The chocolate fudge one was good. The owner was very warm and friendly, I will definitely be back to try more flavors.

Great atmosphere, good customer service. Can’t wait to try every cupcake and cake pop this place has to offer. I’m sure by the end I won’t be able to move, but it’s worth it!

Death by chocolate and chocolate peanut butter were amazing. Still have a lemon one for a family member to try. Honestly was the best cupcake i have ever had. Way better than the one we all know in dc for sure.

Located in the same strip as Sweetz, this is a gem in Gaithersburg. The cupcakes were amazing (the variety was substantial — the mint/​oreo, strawberry, and banana flavors are just some we really enjoyed). We were out on a warm day, so we put these in the fridge when we got home for a half hour or so to firm up — and they were delicious. The owner is a local, and very friendly (and passionate). The location is well decorated and maintained as well. Must check this place out if you are in MOCO and need a cupcake fix. They also have cake pops, regular cakes to order, etc. I believe they also offer wedding cakes. The cake texture is like a pound cake. Very good.
