Usman Shakila DDS

My Mom and I been going to Dr. Usman since I was in middle school, and now that I’m an adult, I’m dreading having to eventually find a new dentist. I just came from an appointment, and as always, Dr. Usman was very kind, considerate, and gentle. I hate going to the dentist on principle, but Dr. Usman makes it a positive experience every time. Her staff is kind, friendly, and I love that whenever I go in, I’m the only patient in the office. I can’t recommend her & her staff enough.

Dr. Usman is a wonderful, kind, gentle dentist. I have a long history of bad teeth, and often times after I move and look for a new dentist, it’s hard to find someone to trust because most dentists see dollar signs when they see my mouth. Numerous fillings, some crowns, and they’re crooked. Because of this, most new dentists I visit typically outline the thousands of dollars worth of work I’ll need — including Invisalign braces. Most recently, I visited a different dentist in Gaithersburg who told me I needed 3 crowns. I wanted to get a second opinion and found Dr. Usman on Unilocal and decided to make an appointment.
The office is clean, they staff is beyond friendly and personable. Dr. Usman does the entire cleaning and exam herself, which I loved. I gave her a brief history of my terrible teeth — and her recommendation: one filling. Even after I expressed concern about the crowns, she was so honest about what she saw and recommended.
I’m also a terrible patient to do fillings on, but Dr. Usman, again, was wonderful. I can’t stress how kind she is and how she tries to make you feel comfortable. I even called after hours — panicked that my filling had fallen out (I said I was a terrible patient) — and she told me to come in after hours so she could look at it herself. (It didn’t fall out). I have never felt this kind of honesty from a dentist before, and I’m sure I will continue to see her as long as I live in Gaithersburg, and I’ll continue to recommend her to family and friends.

Dr Usman is a great dentist. Been going here for couple of years– minus the years I skipped going. I got my first cavity after 40 plus years and it was pretty painless procedure. Office is clean and she schedules appointments so you are the only person there during your cleaning/​procedure.
Highly recommend. Tons of parking in the Olde Town Gaithersburg parking garage.

Honestly, who enjoys visiting the dentist in general? LOL!
I have been going to Dr. Usman for years now. I think the first thing I said to her was «Hi! I don’t like the dentist.» Yes, I am a grown woman but who really likes to sit in a chair and have gadgets in their mouth? Dr. Usman just laughed and told me not to worry that she was gentle and would go easy on me. She is by far the most sweetest dentist I have ever been to. I only visit her twice a year for my routine check ups. Luckily, I do not need any major dental work done.
Dr. Usman is friendly, caring, honest, and very gentle when handling your teeth. Her office is always warm and very clean! I will revisit every time I need any dental work completed.

Dr. Usman Rocks! At first, I thought she took too much time to do the work, but I discovered that she is painstakingly perfectionistic with her patients’ teeth. Her office is clean, her equipment is up to date, and her staff is friendly and professional. She placed 5 crowns for me, and they all look and feel amazing!
