Specialties
Holmberg Orchards is a 4th generation family farm specializing in apples, pears, peaches, berries, vegetable crops and ornamental plants. Our farm market is open year-round, and offers a wide variety of fresh fruits & produce, homemade baked goods (baked onsite!), CT produced wines, and specialty gourmet foods. We handcraft a full line of fruit wines and sparkling hard ciders, and planted our first 2 acres of wine grapes in 2010.
The farm market is open year-round and stocks everything from pasta sauces, cheese, gelato and all-natural soap to crackers, gourmet chips, baked goods, and our famous apple crisp. And of course: apples.
History
Established in 1935.
The Holmberg family has been farming this land since 1896, when Swedish immigrants Adolph and Hulda Holmberg purchased the farm and operated a vegetable, flower and poultry facility. In 1935, brothers Harold and Henry Holmberg planted the orchard and established Holmberg Bros. Orchards. Richard and his wife Diane entered the scene in the early 1970s and brought the orchard forward to a primarily retail facility. Today, they run the farm cooperatively with daughter Amy, and son, Russell.
