B&E Shoe Service specializes in boot, shoe, luggage and zipper repairs. We also do custom leather work including knife sheaths and holsters. We also have a full retail store within River City Mfg. Co. Our store carries Minnetonka moccasins, Poler Outdoor Stuff, Sunski Sunglasses and many other products including our own River City Leather goods.

History

Established in 1969.

B&E Shoe Service was purchased by Bill and Edith Stapleton in 1969 and they opened for business at 427 Second Avenue on January 2^nd 1970. They have been in business for 45 years. Along with Steve Stapleton, their son, they have built an amazing reputation and carried on a wonderful service for the small town of Gallipolis and the surrounding areas. Now owned and operated by Aaron and Erin Buckley the store is in a new location and along with the second generation cobbler, Steve Stapleton, B&E will continue to offer these great services to the community. If you’re lucky you might catch Bill working in the back and telling old stories from his past of arm wrestling guys twice his size and straightening out some ruffians behind the old shop.

Business Owner

Aaron and Erin Buckley own and operated River City Manufacturing Company, River City Leather and B&E Shoe Service. The Buckley’s were living in Philadelphia in the summer of 2010 when Aaron was in a motorcycle accident. Shortly after, they moved to Gallipolis, where Erin was from. Aaron began apprenticing under Bill & Steve Stapleton and learned to love the trade. River City Leather was founded in 2011 as a side business and steadily grew into the business they are today!
