Leonard did a great job. I had been using the larger heating and air companies like Bonnie Plumbing and Bell Brothers and have been very dissapointed. I decided to give a small company a try. I found Leonard via Unilocal.After getting three bids I went with Leonard and have not been dissapointed. He even fixed my water heater by changing a wire. I had two other companies tell me I needed to replace it.

So I called Leonard bc my heater was having complications. He answered the phone late at night and even came to fix it. Later he replaced it to a new digital wifi thermostat that can be controlled with my iPhone. He is the best when it comes to hvac and he is local! Thankful he is local and has the best customer service
Update: called again bc my air was not working right. Needed the motor replaced. Will probably have to get the unit replaced next year but in the interim as usual he took care of me. Sooo thankful for this man. Use him for you hvac needs

My air conditioning stopped working on Memorial Day! I found Leonard here on Unilocal and gave him a call. Leonard answered the phone and was able to get to out to the house within 24 hours and did a very thorough inspection of the AC and did all of the work needed at the appointment. He informed me that he carries most major/​common parts in his truck so that he can do most repairs right away. Leonard was incredibly friendly and polite and took the time to explain what exactly was going on with the unit. Leonard never tried to convince me that I needed a new air conditioner… He diagnosed the problem and fixed it without the sales pitch for anything else. I would highly recommend Leonard!

Recently we had water coming out from our living room vent. We called a roofing company since we believe it was due to the heavy rain and strong winds, they came checked everything out and told us it was probably something with our central heating system. We called Leonard and within 2 hours he was there checking everything from our roof to our system. He went far and beyond trying to find where the water was coming from. Turns out it WAS our roof and Leonard was the one to find the leak. I highly recommend him, He’s efficient, affordable, honest and local which is a plus.

Leonard showed 2 hours after our initial call and after hours to boot to help us get our heater working. It is a newer unit that has been giving us grief since the day the install was completed by McDonalds heating. Leonard spent 5 min on the phone with tech support and he confirmed what he suspected. It wasn’t set right by the original installing company. 10 more min later and our house was warm and everything was working awesome, like it should have been day 1. Leonard was polite, professional and his rates are better than the other 6 companies we called that were too busy and too put out to come clear out to our house in the country after hours. 6 Stars if I could give them, Leonard is awesome!

You rarely see such great service for such a reasonable price. Leonard spent a couple hours troubleshooting and repairing our A/​C system. Replaced a faulty component, recharged the freon. The total bill with parts was less than I thought labor would be to drive 45 minutes each way and spend 2 hours working on our system. A bunch less!
I should also note that Leonard came out a prior time and didn’t charge us anything because he determined that we had a power issue that he wasn’t licensed to repair. He charged us nothing for that visit. At least an hour and a half of his time just to get here and home plus fuel plus an hour spent in our home to figure out that we needed an electrician and advise us on what was wrong.
Very honest business.

Had a dying fan and Leonard came out same day to diagnose. Checked additional components to ensure that problem was isolated to fan and did not affect the rest of the system. Repaired and also cleaned adjoining components for better performance. Leonard is my go-​to guy for all HVAC needs. Thanks again, Leonard!

Leonard is a true honest man he came out and troubleshoot my AC unit and found a simple short in a wire he repaired it and insulated it all for less then $ 50 I am glad I called Leonard for there was another company that came out and wanted to charge me $ 500 for a new circuit board and $ 2000 for a new compressor good job Leonard and thank you for being honest.

I wish I had found Leonard heating & air before I went with this other company in Galt (won’t mention any names but i wrote a review for them). I called Leonard 10am on Saturday telling him my situation, I have a party in 2 hrs and just discovered that my AC was not working. He came out within the hour and fixed the issue before my party guest had arrived. Not only did he save the day but he did not charge an arm & leg for his services. He is an honest guy and threw in some extra work with no charge. THANK YOU LEONARD!

Our heater started to blow out cold air, and decided to get it checked out. Found a deal on groupon and was not disappointed. He came out cleaned the hell out of it, and apparently it was plugged.
He was honest, completely fixed it, also included a lot of extras (no charge) and didn’t charge me a arm and a leg thank god. I recommend anyone in the Sacramento area if having any heating/​air problems to give Leonard a call.

We are in Fair Oaks, CA. Remember that cold snap in Dec 2013? Ouch, the temps were getting in the 20s every night? Incredibly cold. We had called Leonard around noon on a Friday and he was willing to see our issue that night! He accommodated our schedule which is quite different from other contractors out there. He came out, battled the rain/​cold and diagnosed that we needed a part. Sure enough, he had the part in his van and installed it. That night, we weren’t cold, thanks to his great work. I also have a rental unit in Rancho Cordova, and when ever I need Heating or Air Conditioning work done, I call Leonard Heating and AC. 3 reasons — Great pricing, Great work, and always accommodating to my schedule– I highly recommend his work and have referred him many times to family/​friends.

Last year our heater went out. My wife and I toughed it out like troopers. Fast forward to this winter. Wife is 7 months pregnant, it’s cold, and she’s cranky. She keeps nagging me when am I going to check out the heater or have someone fix it. I try my best to troubleshoot what I can and get it up and running, checking out youtube, to no avail. I can fix computers, not heaters. I rather spend the money and have someone fix the heater correctly than spend more money repairing damaged blown off roof from a gas leak. By chance I came across a Leonard Heating & Air on Groupon. It’s a small business that offered a $ 39 tune up and maintenance special. For $ 39 why not have a professional come out and check my whole system to see if it’s good to go.
I call Leonard on a Wednesday. He was not able to come out since it was already booked up for the day. But he did tell me if it was an emergency, he would come out on Thursday. Thursday was Thanksgiving. Now that’s customer service. I didn’t want to take Leonard away from his family on Thanksgiving nor did I want to wait around for the heater to be fixed on Thanksgiving. So we schedule an appointment for 2pm Monday.
Today, Monday Dec 1, gives me a call ahead of time and tells me he’s heading up from Galt and will be here in 20 mins. Leonard shows up on time. He’s professional, friendly and courteous. I show him to the attic space in the closet and he starts working right away. About 15 minutes later he comes down and tells me what’s wrong with the system. I asked him about price and he said $ 349 for the part and labor, plus a year warranty. Not know about this unexpected cost, I called my wife and discuss the repair costs, she wants to get the heater up and running ASAP!
I asked Leonard if he had the part to repair the unit today and he did not. Not to worry, Leonard said he could pick up the part in West Sacramento and replace it today. I am caught off guard by this. I thought I would have to schedule another appointment as I have with other repair services in the past. About an hour and a half later, due to rush hour traffic, Leonard comes back with the part and installs it within a half hour. The batteries in my thermostat are dead and he replaces them and tests out the unit. A minute later hot air is blowing from all vents. I’m testing the unit as I type this and it’s a toasty 82* in here.
I’m very satisfied with the professionalism and the time Leonard took to answer all my questions. I will highly recommend him to family and friends. It also doesn’t hurt to help small businesses when the other guys charge $ 85 just to come out and do a diagnosis. Leonard Heating & Air Conditioning is worth every penny. My wife will be happy the house is warm again and won’t be so cranky towards me. That in itself is worth the $ 349. Thanks again Leonard. Happy wife = Happy life.

First-​time/​young (ish) home owner = I know nothing about home maintenance. Sitting in 83+ degree temps in my home despite the AC being on full blast for the past two or three summers only proves my ignorance. It was only after one particularly hellish afternoon which I spent lying in front of the fan, listening to the hum of my decrepit AC unit, that I had an epiphany. I don’t think it’s supposed to be like this.
Enter Leonard from Leonard Heating & Air. Remember, I am a home maintenance newb, and so I really didn’t know what I needed beyond cooler air! I googled and Unilocaled a bunch of other HVAC companies, but their quotes for a tune-​up were either too high or they never got back to me. Leonard, however, was the most affordable (I also had a Groupon, but even without the Groupon, his prices are more than fair), and he was available with his knowledge and expertise over the phone. He explained that a tune-​up would probably be best and that he’d be able to make further diagnoses upon inspection. We made an appointment for the next day, and when he was in my area a bit early, he called to make sure it would be okay for him to come a little before our appointment time. I rather appreciated his punctuality and consideration!
Leonard took about forty minutes to perform the tune-​up, including a trip up into the recesses of our attic to better assess our system. When he did come inside, he put booties on over his shoes to keep our carpets clean. (I don’t know if he noticed that we are a shoe-​free household or if this is common practice for him – either way, I noticed and appreciated it.) When he was done with whatever it is a tune-​up entails (he explained in depth, and I tried really hard to follow, but… home maintenance newb), he gave me his diagnosis before proceeding with any repairs. He wrote out and ranked the procedures from most-​recommended to if-​money-​were-​no-​issue and explained each one, taking the time to answer my questions. In the end, we went with adding freon and replacing two parts. Never once did I feel like he was being pushy or trying to up-​sell me or take advantage of my ignorance. Leonard, then, took about another hour to complete the agreed-​upon repairs, and that was it!
I am now sitting very comfortably in my effectively air conditioned room, and I can take consolation that I am that much more experienced as a home owner… because what I’ve learned is that all I need to do for my HVAC is call Leonard Heating & Air.

Summary: I HIGHLY recommend Leonard Heating and Air.
Why: They are professional, courteous, clean, respectful, qualified, and efficient. They also respond to emails and phone calls right away. And they are AFFORDABLE (about 25% less than what the «big» HVAC companies in Sacramento charge!)

My a/​c went out a few weeks ago, which was really unfortunate because it was over 100 degrees and my house is only 10 years old. After getting several estimates from the «big» HVAC companies in Sac, as well as some of the local independent guys, I chose LEONARD HEATING AND AIR, and thank god I did.
First, the quote from one of the big companies was astronomical, and their proposal even had incorrect equipment numbers. I tried one of the smaller Sacramento HVAC firms, and they sent a guy over to take a look. After tinkering with my equipment, he said my capacitor and compressor happened to «blow up» while he was tinkering. And then charged me $ 200 for the pleasure of telling me it doesn’t work. And since the equipment blew up while he was working on it, I would need a whole new system. But he didn’t even go into my attic to assess the other end of the system (the coils), which is where most leaks occur. Long story short, this is when I decided to call Leonard Heating and Air.
I called Leonard and he (the owner) happened to be in the area, so he stopped by for a nominal fee ($ 30). He immediately went to work on my system to assess the damage. He went into the attic as well as doing all the testing on the condenser outside. Turns out the «blown compressor» was not really blown. It still worked. Not sure if the capacitor was really bad, because the other guy took it with him when he left. But ultimately I needed a new a/​c unit regardless. Leonard Heating and Air spent all day on a hot muggy day doing the installation. A HERS inspector showed up at the end and certified it to be very efficient. A city inspector showed up a few days later and it was all good. When I learned I needed CO detectors for the city inspection, I offered to pay Leonard the $ 100 for them. Leonard declined the payment and threw in a pair of CO detectors for free. Also, Leonard gave me a longer labor warranty than the «no surprise guys» offered.
Leonard has several years of experience in the business, is licensed, is always researching new information as technology changes, and he runs his business like a family enterprise, because it is one. I encourage you to contact LEONARD Heating and Air and I am sure you will see that they will treat you with respect and give you a good deal.
