I’m giving it 4 stars even though it’s like a 3, the staff is ever so friendly, my room was clean, great ocean view, and breakfast was good enough for me to eat for 3 mornings :)! Not noisy, walking distance to beach! Breakfast was eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit and gravy, cereal, make it yourself pancakes, and waffles, pretty much everything, but just remember it’s not Ihop but it’s free and gets you by until lunch or dinner. They have a indoor pool and a decent gym! Super friendly staff, comfy beds, hot shower, I will be back :)

I was staying at the Sheraton but had to leave because it was so loud. I came here and I actually booked another night! Great view from my private balcony (all rooms have a balcony), little living room, fridge, microwave, 2 tv’s, clean, hot breakfast, right on the beach, nice staff etc etc…
I docked a star because the cleaning lady wouldn’t stop knocking on the door despite me saying no thank you. Finally opened the door and repeated it. Then the front desk called saying the cleaning lady wanted to know if I needed my room serviced. As much as I appreciate her dedication to her job, I’m trying to sleep! I now have the do not disturb on my door.
I Unilocaled too soon. Staff just banged on the door again wanting to know if I was checking out. Do not disturb is on the door, and it’s not even check out time yet. Another star docked.

Long story short: I was very happy with my stay here! It was difficult to find somewhere to stay for New Years Eve that wasn’t an arm and a leg. This hotel was a tad more pricey ($ 40 more) than the hotel next door, but we had no issues so I’d say it was worth it.
Check-​in and check-​out was a super easy process. The staff was very friendly and efficient and it took no time at all.
The rooms were clean and we found no issues. We got a room with a «partial ocean view» and I loved it. It was really nice being able to sit out on the balcony and just enjoy the view. It also put my mind at ease that it overlooked the parking lot because I’m a lot more comfortable if I can check on my car every once in a while. I also got very excited upon pulling back the comforter to find very white and clean sheets, pillow cases, etc.
The location had negatives and positives, but mostly positive! It was a bit far away from the pier and the strand, but it was incredibly close to Kroger, iHop, and a few other stores which was really nice.
Overall: the location is decent, the rooms and bathrooms were clean, the view was nice, there were no noise issues despite being NYE, and parking was very easy. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a three star hotel but I am giving it four stars here because it was kept clean and the front desk was very friendly. The breakfast was also good compared to other similar hotels offerings.
The room had two flat screens and a small sitting area along with a balcony which was a nice addition. The beds could be more comfortable and the bathrooms could be a bit updated.
But overall was reasonable price on a popular weekend in Galveston and is situated right on the sea wall.

Stayed two nights here room was very nice a little pricey paid 338 for 2 nights Continental breakfast was OK eggs were really gross and they didn’t have bagels. The view from our balcony of the seawall was amazing though.

I vacationed in Galveston and had reservations at another hotel on the seawall, but that hotel failed to mention the band that played 6 hours in the evening. I quickly went to the Quality Inn nearby and Jackie at the front desk was so accommodating, she found us a room! The breakfast was terrific, so many choices. Clean room and lots of towels considering we used the indoor pool and the beach. Room was quiet too.

We stayed in this hotel during the week, had a good experience. The price was reasonable in my opinion. We arrived at about 9am on weds, we checked in and got in our room right away. The room was clean, sheets and pillows looked clean. Bed was very comfortable for me. Our room had a mini fridge and a microwave, both were clean. We did have some issues with the tv but it was taken care off right away. In the bathroom you got a coffee maker, there was some tea bags, and cups. There was also a hair dryer. They also had some small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and two bar soaps. Plenty of towels in the bathroom.
They also had a iron and ironing board in the closet. Plenty of hangers and space to put your luggage in.
We had a great view to the ocean from our balcony. They also have free continental breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and they have waffle irons so you can make your own waffles, there’s a pancake maker too. They had coffee, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal and fruit. There was a lady there constantly checking to see if there was enough food and coffee, constantly cleaning up. She was very friendly!
We had no issue with the parking, it was during the week so there wasn’t too many people around.
They also have a washer and a dryer downstairs, only cost a 1.00 to wash a 1.00 to dry clothes. We had to use both and they work well. Got our clothes clean and dried for 2.00!
The pool was OK… It does have a strong chlorine smell but I think the smell is just strong because of the enclosed location of the pool.
Everything was great, the only thing I didn’t like was that the elevator was very slow.
We plan on going back to this hotel again soon. The staff was very friendly and left us alone which is what we wanted.

Let me start by saying that I am hard on Hotels. I expect a lot of service considering the inflation for a room and a bed. Starting from the beginning, we made our reservations and I called then within 24 hours to verify everything was as it was suppose to be. It was, so I told them that our weekend was special and I would like to make sure we have an awesome view. I wanted to be able to see the ocean, and they assured me that would not be a problem. We progress to day of check in, we were running late so I called to notify them that we were coming and that we would be late. Again, no problems. Get there and room was nice, view was amazing, and bed was comfortable. They even had the A/​C on prior to our arrival, which was nice. The only problem that I had was that I didn’t enjoy the breakfast (my wife did though, so that maybe on me) and some little brats broke the back elevator. It is a good place, we enjoyed our stay.

I like hotels. I’m one of the odd ones I guess but there’s something about travel and crashing in a hotel that doesn’t bother me. Only issue I’ve ever had is «Housekeeping!!» See the infamous Bill Hicks skit for more info.
Typically a hotel works best if we check in then they leave us alone. That’s what happeneded here. The place seemed clean, we had a balcony view of the ocean and my wife and I had a wonderful brief vacation.
We also found the rates here to be cheapest.

When I look for hotels I look for one that’s a decent price but up to date and clean. So I have read most if not all the reviews on here after staying here. Its obvious the negative ones are someone who was thrown out or thought they where staying at the Ritz (Not to bash the Staff because they are awesome here). So here is how my 3day (2 night) stay was.
Upon arrival I notice parking was gonna be a crap shoot to be close to the hotel, not a problem overall with parking because there is plenty in the back. However, there is a spot right by the ramp that is not big vehicle friendly but, VERY small car friendly if cars are next to it. So parking was not a issue up close for me unless I stayed out very late.
The check-​in process was fast and friendly given that the front manager was on the phone I’m assuming with a drunk from the previous night that was complaining for unknown reasons, I’m sure they will post something far fetched soon but who cares i got my room. The front desk was able to get the person in front of me and on the phone organized all at the same time. Went up to the room and it was very clean and modern. It didn’t have a Jacuzzi like I thought it did maybe that was error on my part but i just shook it off because that’s not what i was here for and I knew all the rooms were booked so it wasn’t worth the trouble for me to bring it up.
We really didn’t stay here much other then to rest and shower, the first night I was able to sleep after crashing around 2am, as far as noise from rooms above it all depends on who is above you. If you want quit i would recommend a top floor room. I am a good sleeper if I have background noise so the A/​C took care of that. Our plan was to sleep in till about 10am since we work late shifts but that was bumped down by the fire alarm that went off. Now most people would probably bash the hotel for this but its VERY (cant say it any bigger) reassuring to know that the hotel will pull the plug even though the person making biscuits obviously never paid attention to grandma. The manager was promptly on the 3^rd floor evacuating people. We had are clothes and items we needed to start the day early so we went on with our day.
The second night I asked for fresh towels and the room service offered the towels and also asked if I needed the room straighten. Very friendly staff while on my stay. Also the front desk offered milk for my cereal and turned on the juice machine for me even though I was late for breakfast. We also went to the pool to relax after walking all day since we couldn’t swim very much due to the sea weed.
Location:
Right next to a good Mexican restaurant and a Rita’s for the girlfriend that wants Ice cream every 5 minutes. Beach is close by with life guards on duty and there is a fishing pier right across street.
Overall I gave this 4 stars because the Staff and cleanliness. Will I stay here again next year probably not since I like to try new things. Would I stay here in the future yes, It is assuring to know that you have a hotel that’s friendly to use as a last minute back up plan if needed.

I recently just stayed at this hotel for 5 days with my wife. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and talkative. We had a king suite which came with an sofa and two tvs for 3 day. The last 2 days we asked to be moved to the other king suite which came with a bathtub (kinda romantic) next to the bed. We had our own private balcony which you could see part of the ocean but mainly the back parking lot which is good if you want to keep an eye on your car. They had free breakfast. My personally favorite was the biscuits and gravy, my wife seemed to enjoy the waffle maker. The maids were nice and polite and gave you towels when needed. The bed was king size but for some odd reason it felt smaller. The water for the shower wasn’t as hot as i liked it to be but the water from the tub made up for it. The downside of the hotel was the walls weren’t as sound proof as i would have liked. I heard the family next doors full conversations than i hear our neighbors «Extracurricular» actives. Overall I would stay here again during the week because the weekend price gets expensive.

Why can’t I give it minus 4 stars? I spent 3 weeks in Venezuela in ’06 and «slept» in some craptastic dungeons there, but this hotel is king of bad. Rude staff, WAY overpriced (4-​star hotels in the area for about as much) and the manager will call the police to throw you out if you have complaints (read other Unilocal reviews!). I had reservations here from 7÷26÷2014−7÷30÷2014 because of a crapwire deal, and I found out all the bad stuff on here is true.
Note to the manager: Texas is a one-​party consent state. Guess whether I recorded conversations I had with you and staff!!!
I checked in on Saturday, and went out to have a day in Galveston. We got back, and the parking lot was full. I was informed that the only parking there were the spots under the hotel, but I could park in the Mexican restaurant lot, but had to move the car by 10a. I said that sounded a little different, and she said they dont guarantee a parking spot. Restaurant staff said they should not be telling guests to park in their lot. They say the lot behind the hotel next to them is open to them, but that’s not what the hotel next to them said when I asked…
Saturday we were able to get the housekeeping to reluctantly change the bed skirts with old crusty stains, but only because we showed them photographic proof. *shudder*
We slept one night, and we wished we hadn’t. We got back from our Galveston day with family (awesome day) [hauling all our valuables because of the theft reported on Unilocal], and the idea that a dad would play stick — and — ball with his kid out in the hallway was amazing to me. We go in and wait about half an hour… Ask them to stop and get threatened. Go to hotel staff and they said the owner «would probably throw both of you out». Eventually, after being mistreated and told that he has thrown out thousands of guests, the hotel agreed the guy was in the wrong, said he wouldn’t be a problem anymore.
Fine. Crapwire refunds are hard. Ok, we went back to the room. Immediately there was LOUD banging on the cieling. What a coincidence! I personally believe the owner arranged that noise. Easy to have staff (who I think I recognize as the day cleaning staff) to go in the room above us and make noise. My lovely girlfriend called and asked they be called and asked politely to not do that. It never stopped and hotel staff was EXTREMELY rude when we came down and asked they please call again. Shortly after that the Galveston PD was called by mgmt and they threw us out for our very reasonable complaints.
This hotel was worse for me than a third world country (I stayed in one). If you want to be subjected to abusive staff, look at crusty used-​to-​be gooey stains, and have the «manager» throw you out with the help of Galveston’s finest (I said gladly when asked to leave), then book here.

HOTEL HELL! Worst stay ever! First off, when we checked in, we checked the beds for cleanliness and the bed sheets were cleaned enough, but the skirts on both beds had stains on them. One was a big dark stain and the others were crusty white stains. I asked the front desk to change them and thankfully they did but, shouldn’t that have been done already?!
Secondly, this is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. On our floor, outside in the hallway a dad and his son were playing wiffle ball. Yep. Wiffle ball in a hallway. My boyfriend asked them to be quiet and the guy tried to start a physical altercation. After about an hour of talking to the staff and manager, the ordeal was settled. After this, we decided not to leave because the guy was to check out the next day. All we wanted was sleep.
After having layed down for a couple of mins, we heard loud noises coming from the room directly above us. I called the desk and asked if she would politely call and ask them to quiet down. She said it would be no problem. The noise never stopped. I went down to ask her to call again. She explained to me that it was kids up there. Me having a child of my own and nieces and nephews, I told her I understand but please ask them be quiet. The noise continued so I went down again with my boyfriend and this lady at the desk was very confrontational. She kept telling us that she had been busy checking in other guests and she hadn’t had time to call her again. She also told us that since they were kids, we basically needed to be more patient. We told her it was after midnight and the lady having kids wasn’t our problem. All we wanted was sleep!
The lady at the desk made us feel like the confrontation earlier with the guy and his kid in the hallway was directly related and she thought we were basically the guests from hell. After her being so unreasonable, we went back to our rooms and decided to look for another place to stay. After about 10 minutes, we hear loud knocking on the door. This lady called the cops on us and kicked us out of the hotel. WORST STAY EVER!

We reserved this room through priceline and probably paid too much. However, we had a clean suite with a private balcony that partly viewed the ocean. Our bed was king size and we even had a couch in there.
Housekeeping: They did a good job for us. We needed more towels and soaps anyway!
FREE breakfast: We really enjoyed this! They had hot waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, boiled eggs, cereal, toast, danishes, muffins, coffee, juices, and milk. Yes, it does get crowded but you can’t beat free. We went down between 9:30 — 9:45am each day and always had food.
The bed was comfortable for us and the shower was decent. We didn’t try the indoor pool — what’s the point of that in the summer? The front desk gave us coupons for 3 places for free appetizers and we used two of them.
Location: Ocean across the street, bike rentals next door — but the lady that works there is rude, Surf shop, gas station, restaurants are all within walking distance.
Downsides: Internet was weak on our floor — almost nonexistent. And indoor pool is no fun in the summer. Parking isn’t good on the exact property but they have a huge lot in back.
We might stay here again if we can’t find something further down the strip. We had room 313 if someone wants to ask the front for ours!

Bed bugs chewed me up all night. Place is dirty and gross.

Recently the manager commented on y review on trip advisor saying that I cursed him out on front of children. First of all I work in customer service so I would never do that. I have dealt with unhappy customers and I know how to act, and not to act. When I first approached Mr. Marx my direct words were «sir, I’m not going to raise my voice or curse at you, I would like the same respect back». He also states that he called the cops and we left before they arrived? I was unaware! Exactly what were the cops going to do? Are they hotel nazis? I’m pretty sure they are serving and protecting Galveston. Not dealing with customers at a hotel, who have done nothing wrong. He also stated he searched my car and found towels I was stealing! What in the world is this guy on? He never came near my car, he told me to move it or he was getting it towed! I don’t understand. What goes around comes around and in the end he will be judged for his actions.

I wish I could give zero stars. My husband called this hotel to reserve a room for Saturday night. When we arrived Sat. afternoon, we were told there was no reservation. We thought maybe we were at the wrong hotel, so we called and were told the reservation was made for Friday night and we were recorded as no shows and they charged our card the full amount anyway. They said if we still wanted a room, they’d have to charge us more money than they quoted on the phone and we said no because they booked it wrong. They were supposed to check with the manager and call back but never did. 4 days later we finally got a hold of this elusive manager — who gave us the brush off as long as he possibly could — at which point he insisted that they did nothing wrong, to the extent of lying and saying that they had sent an email confirmation when no email address was provided to them. He was very rude and hung up on us, but they still took $ 265 for us not staying in their hotel. Stay away from this place. The staff is not helpful at all — very short — and the manager is a real piece of… work.

One star only because you can’t give it zero. Housekeeping hadn’t cleaned the room after the last occupants. Non-​smoking room was full of cigarette butts. Didn’t stay. To try to get a refund, you have to deal with the manager, James.

Room was nice and a great view of the water. Breakfast was OK for being a free meal. The only problem was with the room service. One afternoon I came back to change clothes and placed the Do Not Disturb Sign on the door for 10 minutes. I came back after 6pm and the room was dirty and no clean towels.
When I asked the front desk why I didn’t receive room service they responded that the record showed do not disturb was on my door. The maids were in the next room when I left and removed the sign. When I told the desk clerk that I was only in the room for ten minutes she stated that if the sign is on the door they don’t have to check back.
I told her I felt that was not an acceptable practice and she ignored me and never bothered to offer towels or anything else. So, what was a nice hotel and a great value left a bad impression and no hospitality at all.

Ok for the price in dirty Galveston. King room for $ 69 — you get what you pay for. Great customer service but a run down hotel with sloooow elevators, lumpy beds and a view of the next door nicer hotel.
