REALLY wanted to go horseback riding so was doing some research, stumbled across this place on Unilocal and figured it was a good bet to try it out.
Attempted to go to their website, however it does not load so I’m thinking it’s not running… at this point I google the business to see what pops up. First thing is TripAdvisor, where I proceed to read through some of the more recent reviews.
BEWARE: This company has had their horses seized twice and owner has been fined. horses were extremely malnourished and losing their hair.

Please be aware of what you’re contributing money to, go somewhere that is a little pricier that you know the animals are not abused at.

Never got a chance to use the service. I called several times a month or so and weeks before trip. Called, left messages, no calls back and even messaged business from Unilocal.No response ever.

I will first start with the pros: wonderful experience! Wonderful wrangler named Sean! He made us feel safe and was really friendly. My husband and I absolutely loved our ride. My horse was a little stubborn. He didn’t want to go and wanted to do what he wanted, but it just made me laugh. I just was relaxing and going with the flow. It didn’t bother me at all. Sean said my horse Bob was willful! I said that’s ok, so am I. Perfect horse for perfect person! He said he might be a little slow too! I said that’s ok! Special ed horse for soon to be special ed teacher. We laughed and had a wonderful time! They rescue all their horses so I love that!
The cons: I called Sunday to make a reservation and got no answer and no call back from my message. I called again on Monday and got a person who made our reservation for Thursday. The person said someone would call us two hrs ahead of time on Thursday to give us directions. An hr before our scheduled ride at 7:30pm I had not received a call. I called and got no answer. I started to get worried. I got a call back and was told how to get there, but was not informed it was a longer drive than expected. We were running late so I called and got no answer again. I called a few minutes later to see if they would answer. I got an answer and was asked if I could reschedule. I said no, bc this was our last night in Galveston. He said he would ask his boss and call me back, but to keep coming out. I got ok call back. I made it to the place and they were still there. Everyone was really friendly and acted like my being late was no problem.
The manager offered us $ 5 off our next ride!
I would definitely do it again.
I found out the person answering the phone was a 13 yr old boy. If they are going to have a 13 yr old as a receptionist, they need to make sure he is doing his job. It looks bad on the business when you can’t get a call back. Overall, the ride and Sean was amazing!

I haven’t been horseback riding since I was a little girl and honestly couldn’t remember if I liked horses or not. So when the opportunity presented itself for me to go horseback galloped at the offer… see what I did there :) anyway… My ONLY gripe about this place is that the sign is super duper small and although I pride myself on my amazing eyes they don’t see everything and they definitely did not see that sign.
The guy that helped our group goes by the name of Jason and he was fantastic. He made us all feel very comfortable and safe. His laid back attitude made me feel like hey I can get on this horse and do this. He helped us all get on our horses but first he made sure the saddles were properly tightened on each horse. He gave us the house horse rules and from there we were ready to ride. I was curious to see how he was going to handle getting us all across the street on horses but he did an amazing job. He’s a true cowboy! I enjoyed riding on the beach with my horse who goes by the name of Rebel. The ride latest about an hour and I enjoyed every minute of it. I will definitely do this again. The horses were very gentle and you can tell that they are well trained.

Had a reservation for 430 and drive an hour to do this as a surprise for my wife’s birthday (she has been wanting to do this for a long time) and they called me when I was 5 minutes away and canceled. I understand emergencies happen but wow it was a good way to run a birthday.

Love this place. The guys who run it are super friendly and helpful. From the time I called to book to the time we arrived, just all around pleasant to deal with. We had six kids with us, mostly inexperienced riders & they were very patient & helpful. The horses were pretty well trained. Only one horse was kind of challenging, but I was riding him & I just kept a cool head & didn’t panic & was able to keep him under control.

Boy and I went on the beach ride. Very pretty. The beach you tour is more private. Very clean, very quiet, extremely lovely.
Our guide (Kyle) was really great. He let us do our own thing while still very informative. The horses were very nice and well trained. The guide took some great photos of us without us even asking.
Put this on your to do list! I’d still love to try the moonlight, sunset and bay tours.
Cash only. Be sure to bring extra for tipping. Make reservations in advance, although they seem flexible. Enjoy!

Did Bay ride with Lee… first time in several years taking my twin boys out horseback riding… I miss it terribly… now my boyz love it. Lee was good and fun and perfect play for the boyz!!! Will be coming back!

Jason and Kyle where awesome yesterday. We were in town for a birthday celebration and the birthday girls dream was to ride a horse on the beach. Jason and Kyle were very helpful in getting my 8 year old son a horse (Nugget) that was very Calm. I had Coconut she was also a very calm horse. the ride was great and the weather was awesome for January.

Had a great time. Group of 20 of us went, split into two groups.
The horses are well-​trained and very docile. The ride is peaceful and relaxing. The horses walked most of the time, but we did attempt a trot for a bit. I rode Bob, he and I were very compatible, it took some effort to get trotting, but he kept giving up and walking.
Rob and Kim were our guides and they did a good job in talking with us about the horses, the company, and saddles and their training. They were very friendly and helpful in guiding the horses and helping with mounting and dismounting.
It should be noted that the address is a little difficult to find, as there are multiple names for FM 3005 and the address is not always clear. However, if you call, they can give perfect directions. Located on a dirt road (though the road was hard to see).
They only take cash, and do accept tips. They offer rides everyday at different times. I think this would be great outing for groups and families. I hope to go again, maybe ride along the beach next time.

Wife and I did the horseback riding with Rupert on the beach. He was a great tour guide. He was very patient with us since we had very limited horse background. We will deck surly be back to do this again with them

Tour guide was nice and informative… bay ride was great, very quiet and peaceful. My husband and I loved it.

This was my very first time riding a horse and I didn’t quite know what to expect. If you have never ridden a horse before I would strongly suggest these guys. They are very friendly and their horses are also very friendly. I also suggest wearing jeans instead of shorts. TRUST ME! If you wear a hat, make sure it’s not too loose fitting as it can get blown off by the wind. If you take the kids (as we did), leave their glasses and hats in the car as well. We went as a family and the little ones were able to ride on the horses with us. We took the sunrise ride which was AWESOME for the view, alone! (see the photos I posted) The only downside to the sunrise ride is that you have to be there at 5:45am. Our wrangler, Rob, was very nice and knowledgeable of horses. He seemed like an expert on horses but humbly denied being an expert. He was good with the kids (ages 5 and 6) and answered all of their questions thoroughly. I’m not sure if it would have been any different (better or worse) with any other wrangler but I’m glad Rob was our guide. He has plenty of cool stories to tell also! Be sure to ask him about his hat ;)

Great ride, great Wranglers that work for tips only, great horses. Rob was very knowledgeable and a great Wrangler. They stop the group to take your picture with the horses on the beach. Beautiful ride and well priced. The gps navigation sends you to the wrong location so make sure to ask Charles for directions when booking.(Just past the Jamaica beach RV park)

If you’re going to surprise someone with a visit here for the moonlit horseback riding, expect them to be a little weirded out at first about you driving them down a bumpy dirt road at night. Tell them ahead of time to bring/​wear a heavy jacket and long warm pants (if it’s going to be cold out) and assure them that they don’t have to worry, that they will have a great time and it will be safe. :) Someone took me here and it was a little creepy at first but it turned out to be a really great experience. Highly recommended.

YES! This was so full of win I’m not sure I can even describe it accurately in a review; can I just squee loudly? That’s universal, right?
OK, OK, I will try and describe how much amazing fun this was! First off, it’s not too hard to find IF you know where you’re going. If you turn right off of 61^st Street onto Seawall Blvd, keep going until you get to Jamaica Beach (about 11 miles or so). About a quarter mile past the stoplight there is the Jamaica Beach RV Park on the right; right past that is a private dirt road with some small signs that say S-​n-​G Horseback Riding. Turn right there. Be careful! It’s a rutted dirt road, so don’t zoom on in even if you are super excited to be there!
When we got there the girl was waiting with the horses and we just parked on the side. She was super sweet (wish I remembered her name) and helped us on the horses. Well, she helped me because I’m short and couldn’t get my leg up over the saddle (man my old riding instructor would be so unhappy with me… lol). We decided on a bay ride partly because of the cost, as it’s $ 30 for an hour. The beach ride is $ 45 for an hour. Definitely both a great deal, but we were on a little bit of a budget and the bay ride worked. In fact I’m super glad we got the bay ride; it was just my friend and I and the guide and there was nobody around. It was quiet and peaceful and the birds were chirping and the sun was shining and the saddle leather creaked enchantingly… inasmuch as saddle leather can be enchanting.
The horses were great. They were calm but responded well to us wanting to move faster than a walk and I liked that we were able to guide them and they didn’t just follow nose to tail like on other trail rides. She said they have horses for all levels so if you need/​want a more experienced horse, or if you’ve never been on a horse before, you can let them know when you make reservations.
We had so much fun, although it was still a little muddy from some recent rain. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes; tennis shoes are fine but they discourage flip-​flops as they fall off and have to be picked up. In the summer months they need a reservation at least 24 hours in advance, but it’s probably good to call ahead as soon as you know you want to go. And they only take cash. So make sure you have that on you… no ATMs out there! :)
If you want a fun, family friendly experience that will leave you full of memories and squee, I would recommend this place wholeheartedly! If you get to ride Trigger, give him a pat for me and make sure you don’t give him too much attention in front of his girlfriend, Valentine. She gets super jealous!

We had an awesome time during spring break. Our family of four took the sunset tour. The staff were very friendly. It was our first ever to ride horses. Our kids 12 and 8 had so much fun riding their horses. The horses were well-​trained and easy to control. We would definitely do it again!
