History

Established in 2011.

The Naked Mermaid was actually the brainchild of two of my sweet girlfriends. Life took these ladies in different directions and we bought the business March 1, 2014.

I actually started helping my friend (former owner) at The Naked Mermaid in February of 2013 and literally fell in love with the shop!

I had never worked in retail before but I certainly found my calling. I love the ambiance of the shop, interacting with the very diverse clientele and the laid back nature of our area.

I cannot imagine doing anything else now.

I came here this past summer with some friends and fell in love with all the unique and cute décor and gifts. I am coming back this weekend with another group of friends and I can’t wait to show them around! The whole street has cute shops as well. Oh and the owner is as sweet as can be!

The owner is super friendly and helpful. The store has a wide variety of items from kids items to handmade mermaid decorations. They also have an impressive jewelry selection and many crafts. It wasn’t overwhelmingly crowded and everything was placed strategically. To top it off they had a Groupon so I was able to get my boyfriend’s mother something she loved!

This place is great. Stopped by after reading reviews. They have some great decorative items and most are very reasonably priced. The ones that are higher priced involve antiques or are bigger items. They have smaller items including some nice jewelry pieces. While I didnt buy anything this trip, I will definitely be back.

I could get lost in here for hours. Clean, well placed items are easy to see. Unlike most antique stores, the prices are clearly visible. The jewelery is on the odd and chunky side, which is fun!
For those who like tiki type decore, visit for some hidden gems in here. This place lives up to its name, there are mermaids everywhere! I love the re-​purposed tin/​metal items. Very beachy bits too.
