Such a fun shop. A must to go visit if you are in Galveston. There is something for everyone. Or just browse. So much to see!

One of the nicest occult shops I have ever been to. Great selection and nice helpful staff. Spookymarvelouse décor. Everything an occult shop should be without the rudeness and bad attitude of the place in Montrose that shall forever more remain nameless. Well worth the drive south!

There is a marvelous selection of books for beginners as well as advanced students and practitioners of the craft; for an occult scholar this is paradise! I could not have found a better selection of research material anywhere else. Thank you Clyde and Kim for putting so much love and resources together in one place!

One of the nicest shops of its kind that I’ve seen. Has a nice open layout, a large selection of books that are very neatly organized, and a wall of various herbs. Also has a variety of tools, supplies, gemstones, and collectables. Staff seemed very pleasant and helpful as well.

The store and atmosphere are great but the gentleman working there was very rude. Unfortunately we ended up leaving rather quickly bc of it and didn’t purchase anything.

This store was intending and intriguing. Local prints made by Madam Talbot are awesome. I’m not a big believer in witchcraft stuff but I still enjoyed this mysterious store.

Pretty cool little shop. The strong smell of nag champa on the cool air and dim lighting made this a refreshing escape from the strand. The staff was friendly and the gentleman working the register even helped me try to be sneaky about purchasing a gift for my girlfriend who was with me at the time.

Anyone can tell you an unkept beard is an unhappy beard. With the growing number of beard oils on the market it’s tough to make a decision on what suits you as an individual. Wizard’s Beard Oil is made right here on Galveston Island at our one and only metaphysical bookstore, The Witchery. The owner, Clyde Wood, makes the perfect beard oil that offers the right balance of quality ingredients and pleasant aromas. There’s just a hint of patchouli that offers a slight citrusy scent along with others such as Texas cedarwood and grapefruit oils that compliment each other without overpowering the nostrils. Just a few drops in the morning and a quick massage into your beard and… Voila! Ready to take on the day! For all you bearded beauties out there, try it today. You won’t be disappointed.

Clyde and Kim, the owners are very bright warm people that guide with light and love. They are both very resourceful and have a wide variety of products and services with special guest appearances and interactive seminars. By far the BEST in Houston metro and in Texas! Worth every trip you will make to the island! Bright luminous blessings!

I called one day to see if they carried certain items. The guy on the phone was rude. Their website isn’t very useful so before i made a 1.5 hour trip to Galveston i wanted to make sure they carried what i was looking for. A few months later me and my boyfriend decided to go down there to check it out, but on the day their dog died and the whole shop was closed down. If you’re traveling a long distance i would suggest calling beforehand to make sure they will actually be opened. We just stick with going to the Magick Cauldron or to Old town spring for our things. Shoppe owners seem to be much nicer there. You would think Houston would have more selection of shops

Don’t shop there if you dare make a noise. They’ll tell you to leave. Extremely rude. I understand they’re trying to promote a peaceful atmosphere, but other kids were crying– your business is in a tourist area– who do you think might check it out? Maybe don’t put a bell on the door if the sound offends you. NEVERAGAIN. I will tell everyone I know to steer clear.

This place doesn’t just have a well-organized and vast selection of magical items – it LOOKS great too. An old drug store that’s been converted into this witchy shop, vestiges of its former life remain in its tiny apothecary drawers(which now house incense and candles) and the icebox doors huddled behind the long counter showcasing some of the Witchery’s rarer wares. There’s books for every persuasion of the paranormal, including ghost hunting, wicca, pagan rituals, and astrology, as well as the proper accoutrements for such practices like sage, essential oils and spell books. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Galveston, and not just because I was eyeing that Rider-Waites set of Tarot cards rather hungrily. Most definitely worth at least a peek.

When you think of an occult book store it brings up images of dark, musty rooms full of dusty old tomes where you might find a cage with a mogwai in it. Or you might think of Ray’s Occult from Ghostbusters 2 where everything is jammed in there with hardly enough space to turn around. The Witchery is nothing like that. It has a lot of space to walk around and feels really comfortable. It’s a calming space and one of the coolest stops in Galveston, which is saying something. From the smell of incense to the rows of interesting books, you will find yourself spending extra time perusing the shelves. There are books on everything from ceremonial magic to ghosts and vampires. Not that these folks believe vampires are real, but the point is there is some fun stuff in there as well as the serious. Even if you’re not an avid reader there are plenty of other distractions. They have one of the most interesting music sections I’ve ever seen. It’s very small, but everything there is a winner. There is also a selection of jewelry and artwork. This place isn’t a good stop if you have small children or aren’t open minded, but if you’re looking for something other than the norm when in Galveston it’s a must.

I love weird little shops, but sometimes they make you feel unwelcome. This place doesn’t at all. When you walk in, you are immediately hit with the pungent odor of incense and a sincere welcome by the shop keeper. The prices are a bit steep, but it is a specialty shop so that should be expected. They have some really cool and foreign(to me) things that are worth seeing. Also you can get psychic readings in the back. Why not, right?

I’ve been a frequent customer from this store, I have to say, it is the most awesome store full of books, tools, oils, candles, etc. Whatever you need for your practices in the occult, you are gonna find it here and if you don’t, the owner is kind enough to help you or give an advice on how to aquire your goal. Best occult store I have set a foot on. The witchery has a customer for life as long as I am alive. –Swamp witch.

Very cool shop to go in to! I love the overwhelming smell of incense when you first walk in. Wandering throughout the store is definitely interesting and fun, with lots of things to catch your eye. Definitely can’t wait to come back.

I was shopping for a birthday gift at a vintage clothing store and the owner recommended this place to me. I checked it out and was not disappointed(far from it). Along the walls were figurines of all sorts. My gaze fell upon the Furry Bones figurines. They were adorable, horrific and just what I was looking for. Thank you to the guy working the counter. He was really helpful and even offered the store’s card in case I’d like to order more Furry Bones from them.

Great shop for everything that is cool and stuff. Always has a good incense selection, Great books about spirits and ghost and stuff. Stones, and on special occasions that have palm reading. Staff is very nice and informative. Only gripe is the parking, but every place on the strand has bad parking.

Go in and learn about yourself. Amazing psychic readings. alluring smells and trinkets. Useful tools, helpful books. Great place to buy a gift for a loved one(some of the Jewelry is beautiful, and most of it powerful, should you allow it to be.) Also, the owners are so charming. it hurts me. Check it out.
