What a wonderful local pub! This is our new Saturday night go to! The food is delicious, such as: the chicken fingers, the chicken pot pie, and the Reuben. The food is fresh and always the right temperature. The service staff is friendly and the food generally comes out in a timely fashion. I actually crave their chicken fingers from time to time!

Very disappointed with this place. Has a great appeal from the outside, but was not very welcoming inside. We ordered on a friends tab some wings and fries and some non alcoholic drinks. There is usually a special on wings on Sunday’s if you get beers you can buy one get one free wings or something. The bartender I guess didn’t understand that it was all on one tab and was complaining to us and to other customers that we ordered under our friends tab who was buying beers all night. Anyways he was giving us the stink eye before we left, he was an asshole and rude. The fries were good, hard to mess up fries, but the wings were horrible. They tasted crunchy and chicken should not be crunchy. There also wasn’t much chicken on the bones either. Very disappointing,

Had the teriyaki wings and bbq wings. I couldnt even force myself to eat them. Teriyaki had a weird sticky, sour taste Gooey. I dont even know what kind of sauce it was.. Not what i was expecting. I had maybe 3 wings. I had my cousin offer to try one she did she had two and felt the same… Bartender never asked how the food was. I honestly wouldve and shouldve complained. We ordered under my friends tab bc he offered to put them there so we did… The bartender kept pacing back and forth to try and keep himself busy and became rude when we were starting to leave… With an attitude like that. And prob the worst wings i had i think ill pass if my friends choose to go there… The tyson wings from the bag wouldve been better… Its sad bc the inside of the place is really nicely decorated. Has ample parking and seems pretty clean. Has lots of tvs and a well stocked bar…

WORSTDININGEXPERIENCEOFMYLIFE! I have been patronizing this establishment for over 20 years, going back to when it was BK Sweeneys. The food was always fine, not gourmet, but good enough; the staff friendly. Not tonight. My party of 6, including 2 toddlers under the age of 4, was the first to arrive at 6:15 for dinner. No one else was in the restaurant. After our order was taken the place started to fill up. As the time passed we watched almost every other table get their meal, except us. We had waited over an hour when I demanded a grilled cheese and French fries for my hungry and tired kids. It came along with one of our appetizers. The kids took a few bites and we left. There was never communication from staff about the delay, never were we asked if we wanted drink refills, offered bread, nothing. The waitress may have been overwhelmed, but she clearly had no serving experience and was not fit for the job. I left $ 40 on the table for one round of soda, spinach dip and a grilled cheese. In hindsight I wish I hadn’t. This place has turned into a joke. Take your business elsewhere.

I cannot say enough about this place. My wife and I have been repeat customers and have not once been disappointed. Food is incredibly fresh and always prepared to our liking. Service is beyond friendly and professional. Will continue frequenting this establishment and already looking forward to our next experience here.

This place is empty every single time I come here but I don’t care because the food is great! The owner of this place used to own Henry’s on Jericho(now Walk Street Tavern), and I was devastated when they closed because there was no where else to get a burger as good as the one Henry’s served. The meat was always FRESH! So when Pub 55 opened a few years later, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the burger and fries haven’t changed a bit and is still as delicious as I remember :) Thanks for bringing it back, owner! Just wish they had a cocktail menu…

Friendly service and a fairly comprehensive menu for a pub. When I was eating burgers, this place was by far one of my favorite options. They do a great job with the burgers here. Several vegetarian options on the menu which is helpful for my lifestyle. Kid friendly.

Got the steak sandwich with fries. Sandwich was good, but the fries well lets just say not too many. Still may go back to try something else. The establishment is nice and plenty of drinks to go around with a good atmosphere. So I guess to all of you its worth a night to check it out.

What can I say about Public House 55 other than it is a strong and steady local pub/restaurant. The staff is helpful and very friendly. The food, while not stellar, is very good and is consistent. Prices are average and the drinks are good. Definitely a place to return keep coming back.

I genuinely enjoyed everything I ordered from this place. We ordered from sliders to fried calamaris to Pasta Fra Diavolo to a Cobb Salad, and I cannot say I have any complaints. Everything tasted great in its own way. The menu consists of mostly bar accommodating food, but it was satisfying for a regular dinner night out. Recommend 100%, especially, if you’re a drinker.

I would like to offer a better review but the service was so bad I would be lying. Our server let us sit for over a half an hour after we got our wings and she never asked us if we wanted to order our dinner. She was too busy being chatty with her co-worker. I have to admit that the wings were good. We ordered them extra crispy with the sauces on the side. We got them exactly that way. I think we won’t be heading back to Public House 55 anytime in the near future.

I will NEVER eat here again! The waitress told me that there was a «mix up» in the kitchen after waiting one hour for a hamburger and a wrap! She was very inattentive and never once checked on our table to see why our order did not arrive! The steak wrap that my wife ordered had very little steak in it and my burger arrived well done not medium. I threatened to walk out and was offered 20% off my bill. Everyone else around us was being served on time and no one was aware enough to see that there was an issue with my order. Do yourself a favor and go to the Uptown Grill in Garden City instead. The food and service is superior there, not second rate like here. By the way, my wife tried to use the rest room on the way out and found that someone locked all the stall doors so no one could use them. The waitress had to crawl under and unlock them. I HOPE she washed her hands!!! Definitely NOT a class operation… Why waste your hard earned money here.

Came in 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and they were really nice about it. The food was standard pub fare. I would want to try this place again when the cooks weren’t about to shut the kitchen down; my guess is quality suffered a bit. But my salad was still yummy and my husband’s French Dip sandwich was also good. Definitely would give it another chance if I had reason to be eating in the area.

First off, I really like this place; the staff is great, I think they put a lot of thought into all the details and the dinning area looks spotless. However, they need to work on the food and menu. The burger looked good, the chicken sandwich was substandard, and I was very disappointed in the French dip roast beef sandwich since the beef was well done/dry and minimal. I’m giving it a 3 for a good place to go for drinks.

This is a review for Salad WOW! I want to give Public House 554 stars because the Salad was THAT good! But in all fairness that was I I tried, but I may be back soon to write an update! Autumn Salad — $ 8 Toasted almonds, mandarin oranges, raisins, granny smith apples, tossed with gourmet greens, honey mustard dressing, and sweet potato frizzles. Add Grilled Chicken — $ 3 The honey mustard dressing had the option of being tossed/dressed or on the side. We opted for dressed, it was just the right amount. All the fruits made the salad very refreshing and the mixed greens were delicious but the winner was the Sweet Potato Frizzles! Deep fried shreds of sweet potato, so good! And the décor was very nice, like an upscale pub with great booth settings. The place was VERY clean. Love the location! Right next to a Cupcake Bakery and a new Frozen Yogurt Store — Yip Yip! Can’t wait to go back!

Not a bad place. Would have liked to see a little more variety on the menu, perhaps. Good fries. Nice pub atmosphere. Nothing to really jump out at me, though.

I have been here a half a dozen times, and swear I put up the first review on this place after the first time I went into Public House six months ago, really I have no idea what happened it just disappeared like Harvey the Rabbit! Ok down to business. The salads here are excellent, the chef really has his palate in check because every salad i’ve gotten I really liked. The only salad I got here that I was not entirely crazy about was the sliced steak salad, and the only reason is because they used a cold piece of steak, rather than cooking it to order. Lost points on that one. It was a sunday afternoon and I was at the bar for this salad though so maybe the chef wasn’t in… either way lost some points as mentioned. The place has been a pub since I am like 5, and I say that because my father used to DJ here and as a kid my brother and I would have to go in on a saturday for my father to pick up money and we got to sit at the bar and eat nuts, cherries and every other condiment that would make a kid smile, oh and unlimited cokes which my brother would ask for all syrup and no soda… he usually lost that quest! We also got to play video games while my father waited for whoever, or now that I am older and think about it he was probably having a few beers. My brother and I didn’t care though, it was heavan!!! Anyway, nostalgia aside and being that it was BK Sweeney’s then, and Public House now lets move on. Food overall is ok, I had some great things, and some just ok things and again the salads are A-OK. Worth the stop if your looking, staff is friendly and tap is clean.
