Great service from a family-run business! Call ahead and they’ll do their best to have you in and out. Roosevelt Field Mall is walking distance as is a diner and shopping — plenty for you to do while you wait. Trustworthy.

I used this service station for over a year & usually dealt with Paul though I had come to know Mike as well. They always seemed like far & honest people. I have advanced secondary progressive multiple sclerosis & my van is the only vehicle I can drive so they knew when I came in for service the van COULDNOT be tied up for days. On November 1 I went to the station & spoke to Paul. I explained that the ABS light was staying on & the car was hestitaing particularly when going from low spead to a higher speed(ie getting on the parkway); the van was also due for an oil change. Paul told me to bring the van back on Friday morning. I did not use the van from the time I left Paul on Monday until time to go back there on Friday. Friday morning I had a lot of trouble getting the van to start & then it seemed to NOTWANTTOSTART& when it did it seemed to have a hard time«WARMINGUP». With the van hesitating I headed to the station which is a considerable distance from my house. On the way a light came on the dash. When I arrived at the station I showed Paul the light he did not seem to know what it was but said not to worry about it. I asked Paul if he could take me to a nearby shopping area so I could run my errands while he fixed the van. Paul said he DIDNOTHAVETIMETOLOOKATMEVANTODAY. Because of my disability it took me OVER1HOUR to get ready & get dressed, then I drove a half hour to the station FORNOTHING. I told Paul I was supposed to go to Woodbury on Saturday to the doctor & to Manhattan for an MS Conference on Sunday & needed the van. Paul said there was nothing he could do & I should make an appointment next week. When I left I said something to the effect«yeah if it doesn’t break down first». Mom was going to take me on my errands & to my appointments but Saturday morning she remembered a prior appointment that she had. I NEEDED to see the doctor on Saturday so I went with the hesitating & light on. I made it to Woodbury & almost home about ¾ of a mile before the exit I would take home the van broke down. I was stuck on the parkway almost 3 hours because the highway authorized tow company REFUSED to pick me up because I DIDNOT have any money. AAA thought that they would tow it in & hold it for collaterol until my mom who was still not home could come with a credit card. I finally had to call the police to intervene. The van was eventually towed & the van taken to an unknown(to me) service station in Freeport. I DIDNOT want to take the van back to Paul because of his REFUSAL to help me on Friday so I authorized the company that towed the van to fix it. The cost of repair so far is OVER $ 500 + the TOWFEE. All of this could have been avoided if ONLY Paul fixed my van when I brought it to him on Friday as he told me to do on Monday. Needless to say I WILLNOT be going back there & will NEVER recommend them to anyone again. BTW I went to Manhattan on Sunday, mom took me in her car. Her car is very small in comparrison to my van & she is almost 80 years old. The two of us were trying to put my walker in her backseat & I badly strained my back. These guys are the best. Always friendly and they get the job done quick and right. And if they think the job is too expensive they will tell you straight up. On one occasion they even sent me somewhere else because they thought this other place could do it cheaper. They are often busy, so try and call ahead and get an appointment. Ask for Paul!
