I went here with my boo and his family for a special occasion a while back and it was deemed to be the favorite place of some of his family for eats.(Un)fortunately I didn’t have the same kind of experience. The overall ambiance is dark and lots of wood. It’s more fancy than not while also cozy. The menu didn’t have many options for my dietary needs, so picking an entrée was simple. I got the grilled salmon. The fish was good, but the greens and sauce beneath(thank goodness it wasn’t drizzled on top or slathered with it!) was overly buttery. I could not taste the greens and mash. The fish was fresh and good, and I tried to avoid getting or leaving much of the greens and mash on the bottom half of my fish. The dinner menu was very limited and very expensive. My dish cost $ 26.00 alone. Good water service. Not so good waiter service. Took a while to cue them for the check and for the payment. It was not a busy night either. I later walked by one day and checked out the lunch menu. It was more decently priced, but again, the choices were very limiting for someone who doesn’t eat pork or shrimp. Best of luck and happy eats!

Went in today with my girlfriend during my lunch break. She had gotten a sandwich with peppers, balsamic aoli, chicken, lettuce and cheese. It was very tasty. I had gotten a bleau cheese burger, which was excellent! It also came with fries which were good. Overall it was very good, and the staff was pleasant. I would definitely go back. I liked my food better this time then when I had went a couple years back.

Good place for lunch — nice choices and my waitress kindly let me have a ½ sandwich and salad — they should add that choice to their menu.

This place is tried and true, having surpassed the test of time. It’s been here for years because people like it and keep coming back. It’s mostly a local crowd, so if they weren’t happy, it would have been long gone. I particularly like going to places that aren’t corporate and run by faceless stooges sitting in a Board Room somewhere in Ohio. Bob, the owner here is personable and literally hands on. The menu is fairly mid priced with interesting choices and combinations, the bartenders are mature and skilled, both at mixing and engaging with the customers, many of whom they seemed to know by name. When I’m in the area again, I will be sure to plan my trip to allow a stop at Walk Street. Kudos to the pros.

I have been here in the past and liked it. I had an appointment in the area and stopped in. It is a spacious room and the staff was very accommodating. I would recommend and return.

Walk Street is not your grandparents’ place… well actually, it is. Came early on a Friday evening to find the joint jumping with a demographic that skewed older. I also noticed a lot of families in here as well. Nothing wrong with any of that, but it didn’t help the feeling of being out of place when they put us in a seat in the corner near the bar — are we being punished by the folks? I do have to say that I was surprised how large this place was inside and I did find décor pleasing, but perhaps a little worn when I noticed a hole in the banquet my wife was seated upon. We split a couple of appetizers — the wedge salad and the shrimp risotto. The wedge was a well done classic being cool and crispy with a tasty blue cheese dressing. I was a little disappointed in the risotto finding too much liquid in the dish and my wife thought the rice was a little underdone. For our dinners, my wife went with the mussel app as her meal. I decided on the lamb shank special and it was a good choice. The lamb was extremely tender hunk of meat sitting upon a bed of polenta and mushroom. It was a good thing to have on this cold winter night. My wife thought her mussels were ok, but she seemed to like my lamb better. Halfway through our dinner a 4 top of ladies wearing what can only be described as accidentally spilling the ENTIRE bottle of perfume on to yourself came in and put us off our meals. The smell was overwhelming. Why do people do this? Anyway I digress. After a couple of glasses of wine my wife MUST have dessert so she decided on the bread pudding with ice cream. I found the bread pudding to be a little dry — perhaps it was sitting around too long? I had a couple of bites and decided I had enough. My wife enjoyed it — must have been the wine. We had a gift certificate we were sitting on for over a year and finally got around to using it. I probably won’t be back, but it was mostly personal preference of not feeling like it was my scene.

We thought the food was very good, but all of our fish entrée’s portion were very small. Also, the well drink pours were very weak. Most of us were thinking about going to a Pizzeria after dinner. Meanwhile the ambiance was good along with the service, but tight table arrangement. Probably a better place to have lunch than dinner.

Great food — had the tuna, friends had shrimp and steak. Delicious! Service was attentive, but laid back. Can’t wait to go back.

Walk Street is one of my favorite casual nights out with family and friends. The menu is great, never had a bad dish and the atmosphere is relaxing, friendly and casual. My favorite dishes are the beet salad and the crab cake. I hate to order anything else because I love the special treat so much! But if I do, its always delicious. Walk Street has some of the best burgers I have ever had, delicious steaks and the fish specials are always fantastic.

Decent place. Decent Burger. Blue cheese fries were great! Tables outside give it a nice café feel. The bar was packed on a Friday evening.

Well I’ll never know if they’re jerks in person. Super rude on the phone when I called to make a reservation so this spot is out.

I came here on a weekday for lunch. It was okay. I got the grilled filet of atlantic salmon. It’s over«field greens,» which I found out was just a fancy term for a salmon salad. The salmon was cooked well, but I’m not much of a salad person when I dine out so it wasn’t amazing for me. I wish they gave me more salmon. There was simply too much greens on the plate in terms of proportions. To me, it was just another meal over and done with, nothing special.

This used to be my favorite restaurant. Yes you read that correctly– USEDTOBE! Now the food is good– but it is way over salted! Sometimes almost inedible! Now I’ve ordered the same thing every time for years and it was always consistently good– then all of a sudden way too salty, then again too salty and again same problem. So I stopped coming. I finally came back after months for dinner tonight. They put asparagus back on the menu(took off the good salad and replaced it with a mediocre over priced wedge). I will not be coming back. Unless you can go back in time to when they had a better chef, don’t waste your time or money(it is on the pricey side). There are plenty of other places in walking distant which won’t taste like the cap fell off of the salt shaker!

We came here on a Saturday night and the place was packed and very loud. The waitress was not attentive at all and hardly ever stopped by our table. Food was average, small portions, high prices. There are definitely better more worthwhile places in garden city to eat at.

A very nice option right on central/convenient 7th Street. I’m partial to the marinated Hangar Steak(might not have this one anymore), Skirt Steak & Chilean Sea Bass. Good Angus Burgers & fries. Decent wine options, too… the Pinot Noir has always been nice. Service can be a little uneven, but is overall good. It’s a nice spot this time of year when they open the front up.

I had not heard of Walk Street until a friend recommended that we meet there for dinner. The restaurant was nice and Garden City is a good location with choices for walking to another place for a drink or desert after. Plenty of street or parking lot parking behind the restaurants. We had a group of 8. The appetizers and the main courses were very good. Portion sizes were just right. You can finish you meal and be comfortably full. I had the grilled scallops special served over a risotto. Very nice. I also found the atmosphere to be somewhat contemporary and not stuffy. The room has a din of people enjoying conversation while they eat. The service was prompt and all of our meals came out at one time. While not being spectacular, overall I would go to Walk Street again or recommend it to someone to try. Remember 3 stars mean A-OK.
