Rip-​off price! Be very careful and don’t sign any contract! They came for a free home estimate appointment through Costco. The gave us an estimate and said if we make the decision the same day they would give us 5% off. I trust Costco and think the price shouldn’t be too bad so signed the contract with them. Then I forgot to cancel other vendor schdule estimate so the other vendor came and gave us another estimate. The other vendor’s estimate is 5K less than A Plus! 5K! how could it be! Then I did some search on the internet. A Plus price is really unreasonable. I tried to cancel my contract but it has been 3 days of contract cancellation period. They are not welling to cancel the contract even I told them other vendor is 5K less. They said they are only welling to refund 50% of the money. Right now I’m going through Costco to complain about this and try to get my contract canceled.

It’s always unsettling to read other folks reviews on service, especially because you know there is always two sides to the coin. We requested our free estimate from Costco as well just like other Unilocalers. We received a call, set an appointment and received our visit — all within a week, actually he called and asked if he could come two hours early. We signed the paperwork, all warranties and fine print was discussed, and if it wasn’t I took the time to read it and ask questions (I think that’s the part a lot of people miss, everything is in black and white you just have to take the time to read and ask questions) we were never asked for a full payment up front, and 3 days later a Crew Chief was out walking our property to get the project moving. Two weeks later the team came out and began installation, 48 hours they were complete and didn’t leave one speck of dirt anywhere they were working. I believe A1 exceeded what they were expected to do.
So why not 5 stars? There is a possibility of an extra small amount of money for pressure testing that may pop up that wasn’t discussed until after the paperwork was signed, even when we asked if the price we signed for was the final price. I think that’s a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

My advice: Don’t do business with this company. They never called us when they said they would and a couple phone calls and changed appointments later, they finally showed up. They gave us an estimate and the hubby decided to go for it, so we signed a contract and they then informed us that the TOTAL PRICE had to be paid IN ADVANCE right then and there! Illegal, my friends, this is against the law! A 10% deposit is the most a company can request that you pay for any service to be provided in your home at the time you sign the contract! But, the hubby wasn’t aware of this and before I could say anything, he was handing them the check! Right away, I had a bad feeling about this company. Later, I decided to research them on the internet (a bit after the fact, I know!) and when I saw the reviews they were getting here on Unilocal,I told the hubby «I think we made a mistake!» LOL. To make a long story short, we decided to cancel the contract (note for anyone who isn’t aware of this: you have three business days from the time you sign a contract to cancel it). Luckily, we were within that three-​day period. However, it is now two weeks and several phone calls later requesting the return of our deposit and we are still not in receipt of our check, though they told us that they mailed it to us over a week ago! (We have put a stop payment on the check, but the bank informed us that if an attempt is made to cash it and any of the information on it differs from what we told them, they can’t honor the stop payment — WTH??) So, I’m not sure at the moment what our next step will be, but I am thankful for my career in the legal profession which has afforded me the knowledge of being capable of handling matters such as this without incurring the additional expense of hiring an attorney!

Scheduled a free home estimate appointment through Costco Lakewood and they were a no show. Not happy that I rushed home from work and wasted an entire evening waiting for them. No call, no show = no second chances. There are too many other businesses who will keep their commitments and earn their business.

Found incomplete work and when told about it they want to charge to finish. Tech was a no show and late several times for appointments to replace an old breaker they never replaced. The customer service is also billing and scheduling so the quality of customer care is horrible.

I am so very pleased with the service, workmanship, and timely installation of my new ACUnit back in June, 2014, which we had our old ducts removed, installed all brand new ducts, a brand new heater was also installed. I must give special thanks to Vin, Arturo, and Alvin. They worked very hard for 3 days, the job was very well done, clean, and they were done when promised. Vin, your experience & expertise was very much appreciated and respected, Arturo, thanks for your attention to details and for being in that hot attic when it was 90 degrees outside, and Alvin, you are definitely a team player and took pride in your job. Vin, Arturo, Alvin deserves recognition for the outstanding job on our AC unit, best of all, I feel valued as a customer. When I had an inspection done by someone from the City, he said the job was well done and was within the City’s specifications. To anyone contemplating on who to choose, you will not be disappointed with A Plus Heating & Air.

I went to Costco and signed up to get an estimate to replace my A/​C system. They said it would be less than a week when they will contact me. Two weeks later, they contact me. The estimator had to reschedule twice since he could not make it when promised. He finally showed up, looked at my house and said he will mail me an estimate. I gave him my email address to get it faster, he said I will have it in one day. Four weeks later I get a written estimate from them. I didn’t even get a chance to see what other options they had besides what they placed on the estimate. Total waste of my time!
