Update: I came during lunch hours and they open at ⁹⁄₉₃₀ AM. And the lady gave me 2 free walnut cookies as a service. So yummy!!! And fresh and warm!!!

Interior is cute.
Service is fine.
Walnut pastry tastes good.
Beverages are not impressive (we do not like the yogurt drink at all).
Shaved ice is just OK.

Located in the same plaza as H Mart and a couple stores down. Been eyeballing this place because I wanted to get my mom some so she could try. I’m not a fan of walnuts or red beans, but if you are then it’s worth a try!
So we got a small bag for $ 3.75 and it comes with 9 individually wrapped pastries. I looks like a walnut on the outside, but the inside is filled with red bean and little pieces of walnut. Filling is a little dense though. My whole family thought it was just okay, but not something we’d get again though.
Service is quick. It doesn’t seem like this place gets very crowded? Or they are just very fast at serving everyone so there’s never a wait.

The stopped selling desserts very sadden to find that out.
I stopped by after having Korean BBQ with some friends and since they didn’t have desserts anymore we just got their Red Bean filled Walnut and a few drinks.
Personally their drinks we very undesirable.
Their Walnut with Red Bean was delectable though, a bit on the pricier side.

The woman who works here provides impeccable customer service!!! She is the sweetest! She always gives me a free pastry while I wait. These little pillowy pastries are perfectly sweet! I hate when red bean is super sweet, but they have the sweetness just perfect! Then you get to the walnut and it gives you that bit of crunch you desire. MmMmMmMm. everyone should check this place out!

I just step by the morning time .some time ball is a cold. That’s why I said please give to me a hot one .but she is any answer from me. after that I got it the cold one. I think she is the owner .but nothing care about the shop. She doesn’ t care about the everything… because that place not so much people in there. I don’t want spend the money.

PARKING
Large parking lot shared with other businesses such as H Mart which means easy parking! Cocohodo is located in the same plaza as the supermarket.

Cute little bakery and café! Small shop, several tables available inside. They got that Korean vibe going on — makes you want to sit down, drink coffee, and consume pretty pastries.
This place is almost like a hidden gem! I won’t have noticed this place just driving by, since the H Mart is kinda the main focus here.
MENU
What’s popular here? The Walnut Pastry! It’s basically a baked pastry in the shape of a walnut and filled with red bean and walnut inside. Taste best when hot, so that the red bean feels like it’s melting in your mouth! I left with a mini box (12 pieces) and it was just enough for me and to share with the family! Great snack — I didn’t think it was too sweet. Prices are pretty good too — it was $ 5.75 for the mini box. They also sell coffee and tea as well as shaved ice!
SERVICE
I believe the older Korean gentleman and lady working were the owners. They were very friendly. We chatted about various things while I waited for my order to be packaged. Even got to use a little Korean I learned! I can’t wait to be back for their other items!

The green tea shaved ice and service is a 5 star! The walnut pastries are 3.5 to 4 star, but if you like red beans you may think differently.
The shaved ice has delicious green tea ice cream, just the perfect sweetness. Also has green tea powder on the ice, and light condensed milk topped with cream, red beans, and mochi. The best shaved ice I’ve had so far!

The older woman working here is a crook. I assume she is the owner. My friend ordered two items, paid for them, and immediately cancelled one item before the woman had started making anything. She tried to charge him $ 7 as a «debit transaction fee” — for those of you that haven’t worked with debit card payment systems, the «transaction fee» of which she was speaking is only pennies on the dollar. When we pressed the issue, she muttered about us under her breath in Korean and begrudgingly handed us the money. (I understood everything she was saying as Korean is my first language– guess she didn’t know that cus I’m mixed?)
I like the little walnut pastries– but I don’t like them enough to support a crook.

Walnut pastry w/​red bean inside, shaped like the size of a walnut. So cute and yummy. got a gift box and it’s neatly wrapped individually placed in its own box.

Sadly the location in Irvine is closed on Mondays! So I made a trip out to Garden Grove to get some of these delicious red bean walnut pastries for my parents. They are fresh everyday and always warm!
The lady who helped me was super nice and helpful. I asked if you can freeze these, and the answer is yes. Just put them in the ziploc bag they give you and reheat how ever many you want to eat. Or they can stay out at room temperature for a few days without being refrigerated. Just make sure it’s in the box or bag so the air doesn’t make them dry.
Lots of parking, and it wasn’t a problem at the time I went, but I can imagine it being crowded on the weekends due to HMart.

Pastry with red bean with pieces of walnut served warm. Good, but nothing special considering there are lots of Asian desserts like that. I didn’t get anything to drink but I think these would make a nice snack to accompany a tea or coffee. Try it if you’re in the plaza, but no need to make a special trip here.

I’m in love with the cocohodo! I’ve been going in and out of this shopping plaza for years now and I never noticed this place until now! It’s like, Jackpot for me!
I know a lot of people were saying that the walnut pastry was too sweet for them, but I thought it was perfect. I love red bean and I don’t think red bean (to me) can ever be too sweet. I thought the red bean definitely went really well with the bits of walnut and the bread pastry. I ordered 8 pieces and I honestly wished I ordered more for my breakfast tomorrow! I didn’t try anything else besides the walnut pastries but I do see myself coming back real soon to try everything else because it looked very good too.
This interior of this place is so cute! It gives me a vibe as if I was in a cute little coffee shop in Asia! If I was still in school, I would totally go to this place to study!
I highly recommend this place to try at least once because you can’t find them anywhere else!

I came here three times and only during my first visit I was lucky to get steamy hot Hodo balls. My second visit was on a Sunday, there was only one staff working, nothing was operating at the time.
I asked for hot Hodo balls, the staff told me he never serves them hot, they are always cooled off. WHAT? I told him they should be served hot and fresh, and cooled off ones go into gift boxes because boxes get wet and red bean goes bad quick if packed inside.
He kept trying to argue with me that they never serve them hot. I already bought a bag and tasted one, it was yesterday’s leftover. I smelled stale nuts and particular smell of the egg when it is re-​heated.
I asked for a refund, he argued with me for a while and told me, «Fine. If you don’t want them, I have to throw them away. Can I throw them away?» I said «Go ahead.» Then he refunded my money.
On my next visit, casher girl confidently answered they just have the hot Hodo balls, I was happily ordered 30 balls, and tasted one as I walked out, that was not even lukewarm, the filling was about to solidify already. I couldn’t believe she just lied to me. Horrible.
So I came back home and re-​baked them in the oven. I compared Hodo balls from here and from Buena Park location, Buena Park is better, here, they burnt too much.
I will never come back to this location, why two stars? The store is clean, the flavor isn’t too bad but just burnt even though employees are offering horrible service, that’s why.

Very cute café, all other location I have been to have been inside a grocery store, so this is so far by far my favorite.
Service was nice and those little suckers are starting to grow on me.
The only way to eat them is super fresh and still hot, such a unique taste of walnuts and red bean paste, love the light and fluffy dough.
I got a small box since the rest of my family has yet to love them, but I enjoyed every bite.
Prices are fair, sure I’ll be back.

The map is wrong. It’s really located in the Northwest corner of the intersection, where the Jack in Box /​Hmart plaza is.
These red bean filled pastries with walnut chunks inside are pretty tasty. Best when fresh and warm. They sell in bags starting with 9 for $ 3.75. These things look like walnuts and are about the size of them too.

Simple and delicious. A walnut shaped pastry filled with a whole walnut chunk and azuki bean paste. It’s the only pastry they make here and it’s wonderful. Each pastry is kept hot and you get can eat it there with a combo that comes with coffee and 4 pastries, or you can take it to go. To go orders are served in a bag or a fancy gift box for a bit more. I took home a bag of nine pastries for only $ 3.75. Each is wrapped in white paper and due to them being steaming hot my entire car was filled with a drool inducing walnut aroma. The pastry has a great texture and it’s not too sweet which was perfect for me since I’m not into really sweet desserts.
Service was friendly, store was clean, and there was plenty of seating if you want to eat there. They also have different iced drinks, hot drinks, smoothies, shaved ice, even a waffle dessert. It’s to the right hand side of H Mart. I highly recommend!

I came here to try the walnut pastry. When I came in I asked if they had any samples and the lady behind the counter gave my husband and I full sized pastries to try. It was okay.
We decided to purchase a small bag for our kids to try as well. A small bag was $ 3.75.
The store was nice and clean. The service was great, but the pastries were only okay.

This place is a nice addition to Garden Grove. Its a cute, small and quaint dessert and coffee/​tea kind of place. My friend and I decided to study here one day, and surprisingly it was pretty quiet and their WiFi was pretty fast. If you’re not studying, this place is a good for meeting up with friends over dessert and drinks.
This place offers delicious red bean paste filled in a small spongy toasted walnut cake. They’re individually wrapped, and the pricing on these babies are pretty reasonable as well. They have a wide selection of coffee, teas, and juices. To my expectations, they surprised me. My friend ordered the black bean latte, which I really enjoyed more than my passion iced tea. Sadly, the passion iced tea was very unsweetened, and not sweet.
Other than my dislike for their passion iced tea, everything was superb. Their service was great! After you come in, glare at the menu, the Batista asks you of you ever had a walnut pastry. If you say no, they’ll offer one for you to try and can decide if you want to order a batch of them.
So, if you’re in the area or have been wanting to try this place, I’d recommend it! :)

I was visiting my uncle and he offered me this white box from his fridge with the words Cocohodo Premium Walnut Pastry on it. Inside, there were a bunch of small spherical objects wrapped in paper. He told me to try one, so I did.
The walnut pastry is a soft shell around a filling of red bean paste which contains a walnut at the core. It’s delicious, and it’s the only real food item sold by Cocohodo. I decided to get more today before leaving the area.
I went to the nearest location (spoiler alert: it was this store) and ended up choosing a small gift box (36 pieces, $ 14) and a mini gift box (12 pieces, $ 5). Now that I’m checking the prices again, I’m realizing that the boxes come at a premium compared to the snack bags (for example, a large bag is just 21 for $ 7, while a mini medium box is 22 for $ 9). However, I didn’t feel that annoyed at spending extra because the lady behind the counter gave us a free small bag (9 pieces, $ 3).
It turns out that the walnut orbs were warm, so I tried one from the bag. They are actually much, much better warm, both in softness and in the mouth feel of the temperature. Although the instructions are to store them in a refrigerator or an airtight container, make sure to warm them up for maximum goodness!
Sorry, no idea how the drinks are here. The walnut pastry is all I cared about since it’s their specialty, and it’s all you should care about unless you’re too lazy to seek another drink spot.
