Specialties
Welcome to Community Day Preschool of Garden Grove, CA. We provide a developmentally appropriate program based on the principles of Early Childhood Education. Services are offered on sliding scale tuition to ensure that a high quality program is accessible to all families in our community with free breakfast, lunch and healthy snacks. While emphasizing on single parents and low income families, anyone in the community can enroll.
We are a developmental pre-school based on the needs of each child. Each class emphasizes on pre-reading and pre-math activities, getting the child ready for kindergarten. We do fun activities, sing songs, flannel board stories, and activities to help the child recognize and understand letter and math concepts. Development of the whole child, physical, social, emotional and academic skills is strongly encouraged. We try to be very flexible to meet the needs of the parents by offering full Day Program 5 days a week, 2 – 3 days a week or ½ day programs.
History
Established in 1968.
Established in 1968, Community Day Preschool of Garden Grove was started by six churches to provide child care for single mothers so they could go back to school or find suitable employment to stabilize their family. In 1978 we became a non-profit school for single parents and low income families. We have seen many children grow up through our program, and have even been able to teach the children of our preschool children as they grew up!
The main mission has always been to provide a safe environment for preschool children to learn and develop while the parents work or go to school. Most of the staff has been there over 15 years and we try to provide consistency stability and routine.
We except donations as a Non-profit 501C3 school, we can always use money, services, material, and supplies.
