My husband and I found this store, randomly, by searching for «Amish furniture store OC» while we were in the process of buying a new house and looking for a dining room table. We walked right in and saw a gorgeous cherry plank-​top table that we loved (ordered in Kona finish). Since then (a little over 2 years ago), the ordering hasn’t stopped. We not only have a dining room table, but we have ordered bar stools, end tables, 2 entertainment centers, a shuffle board table, an end table with slots for liquor bottles/​cups, an armoire, and a console. When you think «Amish furniture» you probably think old-​fashioned design, but actually, the flexibility of design is why we keep working with Mike and Sheila. They are both an absolute pleasure to work with, incredibly professional and low-​pressure (the opposite of working with most mass furniture stores). I would describe most of our pieces as contemporary or mid-​century modern in style. That’s the wonderful thing about custom-​ordering your furniture — you can specify the dimensions, the look, the stain, the pulls, etc. It’s definitely a point of pride that all our furniture is made of real wood and here in the U.S. Of course, that kind of quality comes with a price. You shouldn’t walk in the store with the idea that you’re going to get IKEA prices. But every single one of our pieces is of the highest quality and will most certainly outlast us! I really can’t more highly recommend Furnishings Direct!

We LOVE this place. As soon as we walked into this hidden gem of a showroom we were blown away by the American-​made quality and workmanship of the pieces. We had hunted everywhere for a real wood dining table that fit a contemporary design scheme. After several visits, we decided on a clean-​line cherry wood table that has become our favorite piece of furniture. We are so proud to show it off to friends and family, and are already contemplating how we can work with Furnishings Direct again for our future furniture needs.

We purchased a bedroom set last year and it is drop dead gorgeous. We went back so many times before we bought, it’s a wonder they let us in. The staff there are excellent. Every question I asked got this answer «we can do that.» It was sometimes overwhelming, but in a wonderful way. I got exactly what I wanted. I also finally have some furniture to pass down some day. I’ll never cut corners on quality again.
I keep saying buy American, well I put my money where my mouth is and have just ordered 3 living room tables. I’m going back for the dining room set in the summer. I’m completely spoiled and can’t consider going any where else. They are the best.

This place specializes in american made hardwood furniture from quaker furniture to Copeland Furniture (also sold at «Room and Board»). Some of the nicest pieces I’ve seen in any showroom.
Among the 3 Copeland Furniture resellers in Southern California (Brea, Long Beach and here), this had the largest selection of Copeland. In fact, they carried the Frank lloyd Wright line of Copeland that you can’t typically find at all. Not only that, they had the best prices among the 3 stores.
Unfortunately I didn’t buy anything from there (got an amazing offer from another retailer) but Mike was very nice and if I was in the market for another hardwood piece, this would be the first place I would visit.

We have now purchased 4 pieces of furniture from this business. The quality is excellent and the value is great. It is on the higher end price wise, but each piece is made to last. And in pieces you have order you can modify the design to fit you personal tastes. If you want craftsman style, Amish made, this is the place to buy. (They have other styles as well, I’m just a fan of the craftsman!) The same two sales people have been there for years and are knowledgable about the products. They are also friendly and professional!

Devastated. Finally found a store with the type of wood furniture that we love — and basically fled due to a poor sales experience. Looking for a smaller table or chairs that are easy to lift doesn’t mean I’m questioning the quality of the merchandise! Hoping it was just an off day.

This is a great store. We just purchased a coffee table and end table from them. Over the last few years be have bought a handful of furniture from them and have always been very happy. (e.g,. kitchen table, bedroom set). We just received the two pieces and they came out exactly as we wanted them.

About 4 yrs. ago I retired and was given a lump sum to start my new life. I made the decision to get myself an entire matching bedroom set… amish style. The most beautiful furniture I have ever seen. It is tongue and grove with cedar lined drawers. The funny part is I carefully ordered everything online without realizing my furniture was being delivered about 45 minutes away from me. I ended up visiting the store, which gave me a general idea on the workmanship of this beautiful furniture. I ended up also custom ordering a small computer desk with very specific dimensions. It not only completely matched my new bedroom set, but it fit exactly in the space I needed. Nothing I bought was a bargain or on sale, but I have the best Made in USA furniture that will surpass any Ethan Allan type furniture. This will be there for the next generation to come. I paid more than I ever want to admit to, but you get what you paid for, so I scored…

I promise you the furniture look a lot nicer than the parking lot and location. before I walk in this store, I was real hesitating if this will be a waste of my time. But it turns out their product is pretty quality and nice. Although I didn’t get any furniture nor it is my type of furniture. The furniture are nice.
It is definitely not ikea or mid century modern style, but a bit tradition yet classy furniture if you love wood furniture. So all the furnitures are made in Oregon per the salesperson told me. And the exciting part is some are made in Indiana from the Amish. They even have a amish carriage as a gift from them. I was in search of them when I was on the road trip across the country and saw the «watch out for carriage» sign. That just got me really excited when I saw the carriage. So back to the store they do custom furniture if you can’t find the right size or right color of wood. I would say the furnitures are quite stylish for classic wood.

Thought I’d update you that I brought in my cushions to furnishings direct and they are ordering me new covers for the sofa and chairs at no cost. They agreed that the fabric shouldn’t have been worn as it was in just a year and a half. Also picked up a dresser from the clearance section for a good price. I love this store, i wish they were closer to my home so I could browse the loft more regularly. They are so friendly and helpful. Also love the free pinball machine that kept my son entertained.

Thanks to Amanda W.‘s review, I visited this little gem in Orange. I LOVE this store! The prices are not cheap but they are not outrageous. Recently, they opened the «Loft» area where everything is 50% off. That’s where we got our king-​size bed and nightstands made in Oregon and of Alder. The best part, it has that Pottery Barn look but costs less and is made in the USA. For those of you who are eco-​friendly, just think of how much less carbon footprint that is.
The service is excellent and delivery was free. The price range is quite wide. There are dining tables that are $ 1600 but also ones that are $ 10,000. But you really get what you pay for. Pay attention to the construction and I think you’ll see why it’s a lot more expensive.

My husband and I are entering that phase of life where we’re no longer college students, and the IKEA furniture is starting to look a little shabby. We’ve both secured «real» post-​grad school careers, and have decided it’s time to update our furniture. Since our aesthetic can range from the tacky (our 70’s themed living room) to the stately (our penchant for Stickley Craftsman pieces), it was no easy task finding a furniture store that was higher quality than IKEA, would accomodate our eclectic style AND wouldn’t break the bank.
Enter Furnishings Direct. By doing a Google Local search for stores near our home, we learned of this wonderful treasure trove off Tustin Ave. near the 55. We were intimidated upon entering due to the large selection of beautiful Craftsman era pieces. We figured there was no way we could afford anything in the store, but thought we’d look around anyway. We were soon greeted by a kindly older woman (who we later learned is the store’s design consultant), and a neatly groomed man who we presume to be the owner.
Our strange furniture quest (Amish pie safe, anyone?) was quickly solved by the lovely people at Furnishings Direct. While there were no pieces in the showroom that matched what we wanted, the owner was more than happy to special order it for us. He showed us around the store, even breaking out his measuring tape to give us an idea about what the piece we wanted would look like. When we asked strange questions, he didn’t even bat an eye. The best part is that we are ordering a piece almost entirely of our own design, which will be made to order by Amish hands. The free delivery doesn’t hurt either.
The best part? Our purchase is supporting a locally owned business and Amish craftsmen at the same time. When we received a thank you note in the mail personally written by the owner, we knew that we would be visiting Furnishings Direct again very soon.
