Used to come here all the time for their 11.99 Korean Bbq, but we got slammed with a 16.99 per person the last time we came to eat here. Haven’t gone back. Sucks because the owner was so nice and I’m sure I would’ve went back and stayed a regular until the extreme price change.

Excellent service, food & side dishes. This was my first time here and I was extremely impressed with the quality and taste.
Had the all you can eat meats and bibilymun. The kalbi is on point!!! It had just the right amount of marinate and was very juicy.
I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Love all their food but my favorite is the hot broth served in a mug (yook-​soo). It is usually made by boiling memil noodle, ginger, onion, beef, garlic, etc. Every time I visit, the service is excellent, unlike other Korean restaurants. When an entre is ordered for all adults present, they will give you a side noodle for kids for free. With lots of choices for neng-​myun in OC, I still drive down to Garden Grove for HHNM.

This place saves my life in the Summertime with their amazing mool naengmyun (water cold noodles). Their noodles are very good (not soggy), their side dishes are great, they give complimentary leek pancake if you order the galbi+noodle combo. I tried their kbbq the last time I went, let’s just stick to the naengmyun.

Stopped in on a Saturday night and was immediately greeted by the owner and wait staff. They were super friendly and helpful with the menu. They made suggestions as to what to order. I had the bibimbap kalbi which had the most flavorful taste! We also ordered a plate of bbq w/​galbi meat and pork. I must say I’ve bee to a lot of Korean bbq restaurants and this place had the BEST quality of meat I’ve tasted here in Orange County. The kimchi was mouth watering & the potato salad that they bring out in the beginning was delicious!

MOOL NENGMYUN
Little Korean School lesson. «Neng» means cold. «Myun» means noodles. Nengmyun means «Cold Noodles.» Mool means water. For those not familiar with this, these are cold buckwheat noodles in a ice cold broth, consisting of some mixture of beef broth, chicken broth, and dongchimi, which is kinda like saying kimchi juice.
Anyway, let’s cut right to it. It sucked! Someone reviewed this saying that the noodles were like spaghetti noodles. That may have been just a bit of a stretch. They’re usually very thin, but chewy, but these were large and soft, and tasted different. For my Korean readers, it’s kind of like gooksu noodles. Buckwheat noodles all have a certain flavor, but these tasted more floury than anything else.
The broth was the killer. As I said earlier, it’s mostly some concoction of meaty broths + dongchimi. Usually when you have that, drinking the icy soup is very savory because of the meaty broth flavors mixed with the somewhat sour tastes of the dongchimi, and it’s very pleasant and refreshing. This one tasted like straight up dongchimi! Almost NO meaty broth flavors at all — completely masked! It was a travesty! Hell, I could probably make this! This was one of the worst nengmyun’s I’ve ever had (Shikdorak had the worst). If you want to see how Nengmyun’s done, go to Morangak down the road. They have the best nengmyun I’ve ever had!
GALBI
This is grilled marinated short rib. SoCal has some amazing Korean food (which is hard to tell if you had these guys’ nengmyun!), and it shines in their BBQ. The marinade was nicely done; sweet and smoky, garlic flavors evident only after you finish eating, and a little ginger to finish with finesse. The only problem is that their meat was a bit too fatty in some spaces, so it may not be the best cut. All in all though, very good galbi! (I’m from Chicago, so this galbi could have landed on the floor and it’d be better than Chicago!)
OJINGUH DOLPAN
This is like ojinguh bokkum (squid stir fry) and a bowl of rice all on a hot stone pan. ojinguh bokkum is traditionally sweet yet spicy. I gotta tell ya, this was supposed to just be a side thing to share, but considering how bad their nengmyun was, this completely stole the show!
It wasn’t too spicy, but it did have a decent kick. The sugars burned a little creating an little bit of smoky flavor, and with the rice underneath it, it gave it some unbelievably great tasting noorunji; essentially overcooked rice where it gets hard and crunchy. The squid was good, and the flavor and seasoning of the sauce were all spot on. Like I said, some of the extra-​crispy areas were to die for! THIS is good stuff man!
DAMN HUNG
It really pains me sometimes to have to stick to my guns about being an objective scorer. I just gave Umami burger 2 stars even though their burger (what they’re known for) was ⁹⁄₁₀. This place is known for their nengmyun, which sucked, and I have to give it 3! I wish it were the other way around :(
This place was actually well known for their nengmyun. The sign outside, in Korean, says «Ham Hung Neng Myun,» so that’s their specialty! My sister actually had it back in the day, and she said it was pretty hard to beat, but now, it must have changed owners or something, because the nengmyun absolutely sucks!
Would I come back? Well, if I’m in SoCal, there are a LOT of other choices. Though that ojinguh dolpan was pretty damn good, that’s just the nature of the dish. You can find it just as good or maybe even better in a lot of places either here in GG or in LA. So, to answer the question, if I’m roaming around LA/​GG, no I would not come back. BUT, if this place suddenly landed in Chicago, I’d go!

This place is awesome! The meat is delicious and the banchan is very good as well. The thing that differentiates this place from other korean bbq restaurants is the fried rice that is offered if you get the AYCE bbq. They make it in the kitchen and bring it out when you’re done with the grilled meats. It is the perfect blend of spicy and sweet flavor. I also had their abalone bibimbap which I have never had at any other restaurant. Delicious! Must try!

I have nothing but nice things to say about this place. I love it! I could have sworn I already wrote a review for this lovely place! Gur. Anywho! The server is fantastic, she knows my girlfriend and I are regulars so she knows exactly what we want. Obviously, ayce, lemon slices in our waters, tofu and egg pot *heart! she always cooks our meats for us even though I dont want her to at times. She is already doing such a great job, I’m pretty happy it isn’t as busy as other kbbq, you get seated right away! Food is always out on the table in an instant. A lot of elderly people come here so it’s nice and quiet.
I don’t even go to other fav kbbq place anymore, this one took me away ;) I LOVEE FOOD

Ham-​Hung is a small, unassuming Korean restaurant in a small, unassuming strip mall on the corner of Garden Grove Blvd. and Brookhurst Way. Came here to have lunch with my Mom and sister on a really hot day; it’s supposed to be a good cold-​noodle place, according to my Mom.
My sister and I each ordered a bulgogi and a spicy pork lunch combination specials and my Mom order the spicy cold skate/​beef noodles. Food came out fast and everything was pretty good, including the banchan. The only thing that wasn’t stellar was the seaweed soup that came with the lunch specials — totally bland. Tasted like hot water w/​seaweed thrown in.
The restaurant itself was clean and pretty empty, considering it was a Friday afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly. Total came to under $ 40, including tip. I would definitely return.

The flavor and consistency of the noodles do not compare to morangak.

Came across this place from a referral from within the shopping center. 11.99 all you can eat Korean BBQ ! And it was good quality too. Ate so much Meat. They include all the side dishes as well.
The Service was incredible here. We were taken care of by by sweet waitress. Moreover, the owner himself came and checked up on us constantly. He gave us a bunch of tips on how to eat the food so that flavors would compliment each other. I rarely had to lift the tongs to cook the food cause the service came around to take care of it so much for us.
This place is a nice little diamond in the ruff. You wouldn’t expect much from this place but it blows you away.

I discovered this place by accident and I’m so glad I did!
I dropped into the wrong plaza one day and the AYCE for only 11.99 was what attracted me. I just so happened to be craving Korean barbecue too.
Now usually when korean bbq joints are so cheap they usually lack in quality of meat or the place is disgusting and dirty. Definitely not the case here. The boyfriend and I stopped by last night to try it out. I looked through their menu and saw some nice choices like their cold noodles but still stuck with my all you can eat because everyone loves AYCE KBBQ right?!
The waitress was extremely friendly, which my boyfriend and I don’t get often at Asian restaurants unfortunately because he is black. Usually we get stares dirty looks or unnecessary rude service. Sad but oh so true. Anyway, she was so warm and welcoming and at that point I just knew we would feel welcome here!
She started out by prepping our grill and bringing out the banchan I believe that’s what it’s called. The little sticky rice papers were warm like they were fresh out of the steamer. Loved that! She also brought out dipping sauces for the both of us. Then came the meat. The first plate was heaping full with marinated beef (bulgogi) and another beef, marinated chicken, and pork. Boyfriend and I don’t really care for pork in general so the next plate waitress brought out was full of chicken and marinated beef. SO delicious. I also love that the service here is so attentive and literally was there everytime we looked up for a second. FIVE STAR SERVICE!
Towards the end of our meal, a friendly gentleman came up to us to ask us how our meal was and if we were first timers. Not sure if he was the owner or not but we were thrilled because like I said before, we usually don’t expect exceptional service from these kinds of places.
If I could give this place ten stars I would. Very clean inside, delicious barbeque, and AMAZING service. I think we’ve found our new spot. This place is way too underrated. Everybody needs to go try this place out! All you can eat BBQ for only 11.99?! You’ve gotta be crazy not to.

Waah! I dig this place. The people working there are extremely nice. I assume she is the owner but I am not 100% sure. She loves children and even held ours. lol
The food–
I enjoyed everything. The fried rice was some of the best I have had. I don’t even know where I have had better. This Fried Rice sticks out as the best I have had.
The cold noodles were really good! I haven’t had anything like that before, so, there is not much to for me to compare them to. I read in other reviews that this place was known for the cold noodles and I can see that. With a little mustard and vinegar… very good.
The BBQ was very good. We did the AYCE Brisket. It came with a bunch of other stuff but only the Brisket is AYCE. It was very good. the Bulgogi was tasty and not overly sweet like I have had in other places. The Brisket was good. Nothing to complain about.
The sides were great as well. The eggplant was AWESOME!
Price to Quality was great! This place won me over last night. Great service. Nice people.
CONS–
There was really nothing special about the chicken but that was the least of my worries. I don’t go to AYCE KBBQ to eat chicken. I still enjoyed it but compared to the rest, it was lacking.

HUGE PRO–
We ask for a side of rice for the two toddlers at our table. They brought us a little bit of white rice with a beef broth on the side. The broth had soft radish in it. My little girl loved it. The radish was perfectly «al dente». It was hard enough for her to give it a good chew but soft enough to fall apart easily.

I came here for lunch on August 12, 2012 with some people from my church. The date is significant because on this day, the temperature was triple digits in many parts of California and after spending 3+ hours at a church that meets in a middle school gym that lacks air conditioning with 2 of those hours spent listening to John MacArthur’s stunt double (inside joke), we were ready for some cold noodles in an air conditioned venue.
So here’s what happened: There were 16 of us total and we waited 1 hour before we even saw banchan. And while the banchan did taste like the most delicious I’d ever had, I suspect it was largely because it was 2:30 pm by that point and we hadn’t even gotten ice water until 45 minutes before. Why did we wait so long without complaining? I’m not really sure, I think it was mainly because we were afraid to go back outside and at least there was air conditioning. A friend of mine and I got the galbi-​naengmyun combo for $ 17.
What came out was the most pathetic galbi plate I’d ever seen. 4 other friends had ordered the same thing and on each of our galbi plates were approximately 6 – 8 toenail sized, superthin pieces of galbi over a pile of onions. So why 2 stars instead of one? Well, when I said I’d never seen such little galbi come out for what we paid, they brought an extra plate of galbi out with a whopping 10 – 11 pieces (this is sarcasm. speaking of which, there really needs to a sarcasm font by now. why hasn’t this happened yet? c’mon microsoft, you should’ve thought of this years ago before you came up with wingdings).
Needless to say, we all decided to never come back.
The mul naengmyun, which didn’t come out until an hour and a half after we sat, was mediocre as well. First, every other place I know brings out the galbi and naengmyun together and it doesn’t take over an hour to make either of those dishes unless your slaughtering the cow in the kitchen. Second, the naengmyun noodles were super thin and easy to break, clearly low quality noodles. The broth was decent but nothing to write home about. All in all, pretty dang bad experience. If you want naengmyun go to morangak where they’ll give you free sari (extra noodles).

First of all, I have never had Korean BBQ before. My boyfriend and I were getting out car serviced next door and the technician recommended this place to us.
Kind of hard to find because I don’t read Korean and the guy just said, «try the Korean BBQ place) but there were two restaurants so we asked around and found it.
The place wasn’t super busy; then again it was Wednesday night at 5pm. The tables are a little run down, but the staff and the food make the trip well worth it.
The waitress was very nice, and very patient. We asked her what she recommended, and we ended up splitting the BBQ short ribs for 25 dollars. This ended up being more than enough for two people – maybe three if you’re not super hungry. She came out and set out 8 – 9 different appetizers or things you can eat with the meat, and then she came out and lights the grill and cooked it in front of us. We got this egg soup (which sounds gross, but was actually really good), and then a salad too. All in all it was AMAZING… do yourself a favor and try it.

This review is strictly for their mool nangmyun galbi combo.
I love nangmyun. Like love it so much I eat it in the winter and bear the weird stares the servers give me. So, naturally, I like to think of myself as a pro when it comes to good nangmyun. I LOVE their nangmyun here. It’s so good! The soup is flavored just perfectly and the noodles are always al dente and chewy.
The galbi that comes with the combo is soooo good. Tender with the perfect amount of salt and sweet. Take a bite of this and wash it down with some refreshing cold soup and chewy noodles… knocks your socks off.
Whenever I crave nangmyun, I come here. I drive my ass from YL to Garbage Grove just for this. I haven’t had anything else, I refuse. Nangmyun is all I want!

They do a pretty good version of bibim naengmyun here.
The noodles are hamhung style, but a little bit thicker than most places.
It chewy and for a lack of a better word, it’s a bit silkier?
Still good.
I hate how the meat in most places is dry and tasteless.
But here, the brisket meat is moist and cut thick.
I ate every piece.
The usual toppings which include cucumber, boiled egg, and the cherished pear slice.
Yooksoo was a bit watered down but still good for slurping in between bites.
Service was good and for $ 8 and some change,
I’ll be back!

I came here thinking this was the same Ham-​Hung that is famous for mool neng myun, but I was sadly mistaken.
The noodles were as thick as spaghetti. I kid you not, spaghetti. Imagine how sick that even sounds. This wouldn’t have been a problem if I had ordered warm spaghetti, but I ordered cold mool neng myun. The noodles were so thick that I couldn’t even chew through them.
Maybe I caught them on a bad day, or maybe they thought I had actually ordered spaghetti and then realized this was a neng myun joint and decided to throw the noodles in the chilled mool neng myun broth.

My friends and I came to this place for a farewell party. It was a nice little place to bring 5 people or so. We had a big group, so we had a room to ourselves where we could sit on the floor on the cushions, old school style. We were served beef broth, which is always a plus. The décor is somewhat traditional, but not really decorative.
There’s a meat combo here that’s not necessarily written on the menu. It’s written on the menu brochure on the table. The combo prices were quite reasonable, I found. I ordered some chadol (beef brisket) and pork. The meat quality was excellent. Beef brisket wasn’t too thin like many places – it was flavorful. The sauce is pretty standard stuff – spicy sauce, salt with sesame oil – but fit quite well. We ate the nengmuym, both water and spicy ones, that came with the combo. I had heard the mool neng myun was good here. Well, it was okay, but nothing noteworthy. The spicy bibim nengmyun was quite good, however – sweet and spicy and just right. Overall, I’d come here more for the meat than the nengmyun. The price isn’t too bad either.
