Last year, I was looking for a tax accountant to file my taxes. My guy transferred to Boston so I was looking for somone local. I drove by Kim’s office and decided to stop by and give him a try. Asked his secretary approximately how much it will cost to file taxes for a dual income married couple. She quoted me $ 95. I thought that was fair so I went home, picked up my paperwork and met with Kim. Great personality. Funny and sharp. He said everything should be completed by the time we came back from our 1 week vacation. Fast forward 2 weeks later. I came by to pick up my return. He asked me some specific questions then he submitted the electronic returns. My paperwork was sloppily stapled together (not the exactly the quality I would expect from a professional CPA accountant) and placed in a folder along with his business card. Finally, we came to pricing. I asked him, «How much?» He said, «$ 350.» I was stunned. I kept my composure, wrote the check and left. We have a dual income with ONE house. No dependents. No business. Interest on our student loans and mortgage did not qualify for deductions b/​c of our income. We did not cash out any stocks. I have the utmost respect for accountants and bookkeepers but I thought my job should not have cost me $ 350. My former tax accountant (awesome guy but moved to Boston) charged me $ 200…I dealt with stocks and properties with him. Ironically, I ate lunch with an accountant buddy right after my meeting w/​Kim. He laughed and said I was royally ripped off. Til this day, wife maintains I should have negotiated. To add salt to the wound, the tax woman today charged us $ 125 with a dependent. Nothing else has changed. I do realize that is a professional service industry and fees can be murky. However, the discrepancy from his secretary’s quote vs what he charged me was too much. He lost a potential lifelong client.

Kim and his staff are courteous but more importantly, they’ve ALWAYS have gotten the job done. Exceeding expectations at times. Why go anywhere else.

Since Kim us supper nice I will answer the one star review lady. If they had your social security number it was because you had income and agreed to give it to them (did they go through your purse?). A 1099 is mandatory if you have incone and requires your SS# (especially for salons with independent contractors). The business and CPA can get in trouble if they do not send the form to the IRS (sorry hate to see Unilocal haters effect good small businesses).

My mind slipped last year and thought i was late to fill my taxes. One call to their office and my anxiety was cleared. He outlined very clearly and concisely exactly what I needed to get to him and then gave me an exact quote for what it would cost (which is on par, if not a bit lower than other CPAs i have used in the past). The turn around time, even given the impending filing deadline, was incredibly smooth. What a pleasant experience, couldn’t be happier with a CPA, thank you Kim!

I was referred to you by someone I thought was a friend long before I ever helped her at the salon she owns. I never agreed or signed anything saying I agreed to a 1099. We will let the irs and the California board of accounting decide if it’s ethical to give out someone’s social security number.

I can’t speak more highly of a better accountant than this man in Orange County and every where else.
First off he has extremely reasonable prices and he’ll work with you depending on your financial situation for a good rate, he’s extremely knowledgeable in not only taxes, but very knowledgeable in finances, investments, audits and he’s also a notary. I don’t know how to find notaries besides googling them up, but at least it’s nice to know my accountant can write me up a notary whenever.
I’ve gotten great refunds and I’ve known when I’m due to owe taxes ahead of time, he runs a family-​centric business, he’ll always give you time to speak to him for advice or making an appointment for console whenever needed.
He’s a very friendly, kind, patient and funny and overall he’s a great person to be around — if you want an accountant who’s not just reliable but has all the attributes of a helpful and mindful guy.

I moved from California to Texas recently and was having a bit of trouble getting all of my taxes in order. Coyle helped me immensely with getting everything together and saved me a great deal! This man is a genius when it comes to taxes.
Every year since 2001 my husband and I have been going to him and we’ve gotten a great refund! Now I’m not saying he’s guaranteed to get you a refund as well, because it depends on your situation but he will work with you and will do better than anyone when it comes to your taxes.
He’s basically family to us now. He knows his stuff and he is definitely an expert.
Don’t let his calm, cool, pussycat demeanor fool you because he’s truly the King of the Jungle and is the best at what he does!!!
