Kunafa King

Wasn’t sure what these were. They looked very interesting. The lady was super nice and have me a sample. I bought one of each. So delicious!

Craving fixed — yummy Kunefe & some Baklava varieties.
These are so flaky, buttery, nutty, a bit creamy & chewy in the middle, and not so sweet at first.
Price is a tad pricey though: starting from $ 9.99 per lb. Some petite baklava with nuts are more expensive (didn’t get them this time).
I definitely feel some sugar rush after munching through 4 big pieces though, lol.

I was passing by this area, and I went in and I saw their enormous desserts section; so I bought some of their baklavas $ 9.99 per pound cuz I saw good reviews about them. However, if I compared with the baklavas I had from «baklava factory «in Glendale; this one is not as good as the ones from Glendale. Sorry, but yeah baklava factory is much better !!!.

Kunafa King is a Middle Eastern bakery that makes giant size kunafa (Levantine cheese pastries soaked in sweet sugar-​based syrup). The different kinds are tasty. They let you try out samples before you buy and cut out as much as you want to get. There’s also a bunch of other freshly made cultural pastries that are really yummy and even better than the kunafa, like the Shaabiat (multi-​layered/​flaky pastry dough filled with Kashta, garnished with pistachios and topped with honey syrup). All of the items here are so good.

Good solid knafeh, always hot and delicious and always have it in the big platter and ready to cut up. If you need an entire platter you will need to order ahead or wait for at least 30 mins for them to make it. Good thing about Knafeh King is that it’s hot when you get it so if you’re eating in the foot court seating area, It’s hot and no need to microwave heat it like some other knafeh places do (see my other reviews). This place tastes more authentic than the competition and even though service is not that great at times, I only buy my knafeh from here since the bakery and dessert station is always busy and you can bet they will bring out a fresh knafeh platter while you’re waiting for your turn. I’ve arrived late, past 8pm and they will go to the back and make some fresh knafeh while you wait instead of having you walk away empty handed. If they can improve upon their servers customer service and friendliness they would easily be a 5 star.

This is a middle eastern desert shop inside the Fresh Choice market as part of its food court. As implied by their name their speciality is Kunafa (or Knafeh) which is a pastry made out of shredded phyllo dough (Kataifi) and cheese. It comes in two varieties one which has a orange flacky top layer and the other which has a darker smoother layer (My perference is for the orange flacky one). The Kunafa is enjoyed hot hence it is laid out on a large heated circular deep dish from which slices are cut when requested. Finally you have a choice of adding syrup (rose scented sweeted liquid) on top which i generally do. Cost wise its 9.99 per lb which fills a decent size container.
They also carry assorted Baklava and filled cookies but i’ve tried any till now.
As this is a middle eastern market the server generally starts speaking to me in arabic and it turns into a funny conversation with me simply pointng to what i want and grunting in respose :)
Overall a nice place to get your Kunafa fix.
