We are still in the process of installing a triple-​wide French entry door (10′ wide!) here in Laguna Woods, and I must say that dealing with PEAS has been the best part of the experience thus far. I’ve not taken the time to read the other posts, as I’m up to my elbows in alligators, but I used PEAS because they were the first (and only) of three companies who responded to my RFQ. And, they are on our HOA’s list of approved providers.
In a word, PEAS was perfect. I am a business consultant by profession, and was immediately impressed with their complete efficiency and professionalism from start to finish (including their humble request for this Unilocal post). Expedient communications; clear and clean paperwork; pride of craftsmanship (others might call it «service,» but their workers were clearly more interested in their craft than in just getting a paycheck).
It is now a week after their work was completed. My doors are still not installed due to permit issues (NOT related to PEAS services). I asked them to leave the room «tenting» in place, as it would protect our living room from the pending door installation. Their plastic draped isolation tenting is a piece of art all on its own, complete with in-​and-​out zippered doors, suspended from a high ceiling. We like it so much we’re considering leaving it up as a free room addition. Kidding, of course, but not by much.

Wow! This is how all contractors should be. On time, very polite, extremely knowledgeable and helpful… at a fair price! I represent a client living abroad who needed some drywall remediation accommodated in Laguna Woods yesterday. I got the appointment in 24 hours! ARTURO and his two assistants were thorough, very professional, and thoughtful in taking care of my issue efficiently and effortlessly. Two of the men helped me carry a TV out the front door for it to be picked up avoiding having to delay their work… just one more positive for the men from Pacific Environmental & Abatement Solutions. We had water damage last October and PEAS did a great job on asbestos abatement and mold removal. Dino was very, professional and knowledgeable, and he was very patient and answered all our questions when he came out to our house. Kristine at the office was very efficient and understood the urgency of our case, and arranged the work schedule to meet our needs very quickly. Overall, PEAS worked above and beyond to get the job done and we were very pleased with their quality of work.

Incredible! My first contact with the company was with Joe. He is a patient man; a huge plus when dealing with a sudden disaster. I had a hot water pipe burst and during moisture readings and asbestos readings, I discovered I had asbestos in the old flooring under the new. Joe explained everything… repeatedly for me as requested… all the time very kindly and patiently. He sent out Armando and his crew. They were all very polite and extremely hard-​working. They worked during a heatwave in upstairs non-​air conditioned rooms after having had the dehumidifiers on all the day and night before work started. There were no unpleasant comments, no unpleasant grimaces. They were always friendly and polite. They cleaned up after but there was a small stain on a carpet and Mando came out on his day off to attend to it. They go far beyond what is usual and most definitely if you ever have to have work done, hire them. Talk to Joe… have Mando and his crew do the work… they are all incredible!

These guys (Joe & Dino) were the most responsive, explained to my contractors what was going on and guaranteed their work. Price was fair and they were very personable, spending time explaining the process and educating all involved. Would definitely go back to these guys again.

I’m having a new HVAC system installed by Right-​Time/​ARS through the HERO program. This was the company sent to perform the asbestos removal in my attic prior to the new ductwork. I have nothing but the highest praise for Lao Arizmendi and Eduardo Ruiz. They were skilled at their work and thoroughly professional, but also very friendly. They waited patiently for my family members to vacate the rooms adjacent to the safe area, and didn’t mind my questions as I watched the abatement process in progress. Joe came on site and introduced himself to me, and thanked me for using the company while his associate was consulting with Lao. I appreciated the quick cleanup when the job ended. I would not hesitate to hire PEAS, Inc. again in the future, and I recommend them to anyone in need of the services they provide. Tammy is also an asset to the company. When I called to compliment Lao and Eduardo following the completion of the work, she answered my phone call to the office. She is very pleasant to talk to, and I know Tammy will properly relay my message.

Dino is incredible! Even though my job was incredibly small he took extra time to answer all my questions and guide me through it, and let me know that we did not even need them for something so small. He will tell you the facts, even though those facts may mean his company does not get the work. This company has integrity!

We hired PEAS, Inc. to remove all the drywall in our home after we were told it contained asbestos. Dino came to our house the same day I called to give an estimate and two days later they did the job, which took two days to complete. The entire crew were professional and courteous. They left our house spotless. Arturo and Armando were very pleasant to work with. The price was much less than our general contractor’s bid and the work was exceptional. Our contractor requested the business card from PEAS for future jobs.

Original estimate — very complete, good ideas & well informed
Office staff — very professional, helpful, explained schedule arrival and departure times.
Arrival & completion times — arrived on time and departed as promised as originally indicated by the office staff.
Care of customer’s property — all areas (interior & exterior) were covered with ground cloth, work areas were completely sealed to eliminated dust and fibers from spreading.
Clean-​up — all contaminated materials, plastic and cardboard were removed from the job site, all surfaces were swept, vacuumed and hand wiped.
Arturo Acosta is informative, very knowledgeable & courteous.
Price — excellent for quality of work and materials as follows — removed all contaminated carpet padding, tile and masking from entry, hallway, closet kitchen, pantry, laundry, bath and dining/​family room Additional work was performed to apply a solution to remove all contamination from cement slab.
I have been a home owner for 50 years and this has been one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor.

Yeah, California laws can be stupid, such as the restrictive handling of any asbestos containing building materials over a teeny-​tiny amount.
It’s tempting to remove it yourself, or use a contractor who doesn’t follow the law to remove/​repair asbestos containing material, but if the State catches you (and their spies are everywhere) it will be VERY expensive for both the property owner AND the contractor. Do yourself a favor and call Pacific Environmental and Abatement Services.
Dino and Joe do a great job coordinating the work, and their response time is phenomenal. Tamy, is courteous and helpful in getting the right documents where they need to be and her follow up is also excellent. My husband just raved about Armando and his crew and I can’t say enough good things about Rafael. They are prompt, precise, pleasant and professional. And oh, so clean.
Yes, this high quality service comes at a price, but I’ve found it overall to be quite reasonable. I have had need to use them three times now for asbestos abatement (a downside to owning an older home). These are my «go-​to» guys, as I know the job will be done right and I won’t have the worry of a possibly heavy fine hanging over my head. Who needs that worry?
So, judging by my previous experience, I would not hesitate to use them for any of their other services in the future!

My husband and I are very pleased with Pacific Environmental! Our downstairs flooded and Armando from Pacific Environmental was extremely professional, dedicated, hardworking and helpful! He was so thorough with the abatement and cleaning up our mess downstairs with the flooding. He came out everyday even Sunday to make sure our place was dry and clean. We were so overwhelmed when we found out we had a mold issue caused from the shower drain which leaked down to the garage ceiling for over a long period of time. I called Dino and he came out the next day at the designated time. He was professional, informative, knowledgeable and simplified everything for an average person to understand. He was patient and addressed all answers to our questions and concerns. I am sure he does this over and over again but he made us feel like he was so concerned with us knowing and understanding the procedure to remove mold.
