Rancho Monterey Apartments

My parents lived there for almost 3 years me more than a year, it’s nice and clean and they show up for repair ASAP just more than a year ago they replaced all the windows in the apartments. Management are cooperative. But it’s little bit noisy the reason is I live down stars, looks like the family on upper level don’t care about time they were too noisy. many time I talk to them but no response…
Any way I liked the place but they moved out because they left to another state…

All the recently vacated apts are upgraded, so they look great. However, if you’ve lived here for some time, your apt is run down. All repairs are mickey mouse. Half ass is more appropriate. They’ve hired several drunks, one who recently had a dui, to come in and repair your apt. Needless to say, things are left unfinished. It puts them out to come help you repair their apt that you over pay for.
Neighbors like any apt are loud and inconsiderate. They all smoke and blow it everywhere. Each apt has extended family living there and take up parking spaces. The lady in D1 thinks she owns the parking lot. She blocks cars in, and you have to go knock on her door so she’ll move, so you can get to your car. She literally stands in empty parking spaces so someone will go get her car, so she can park close. Beware of her!
If you have kids, look elsewhere. There are 2 court yards with grass, that no one is allowed to walk on. Kids can’t ride bikes on sidewalks. There is however, an old unused parking lot, in between two buildings, where they dump lawn trimmings, no lights or grass, just asphalt, where your children are allowed to play!
The pools are chemically treated, yes. But there is scum and filth on the tiles inside the pool. It’s been that way in all the years I’ve lived here.
Speaking of the lawns, that all they do is mow. All day, every day. The janitor pushes around a noisey cart on wheels. So if you wanna sleep in on Saturday, or any morning, forget it.
Pets aren’t allowed. But don’t worry, everyone sneaks them in. Some have notes saying they are service animals. The rest hide them. Yet the apt has a stray cat that we were asked not to call animal control on. It shits in my yard daily. It’s even come into my apt.
I’ve looked past all of this over the years. Until a recent incident. My car was parked in their parking lot. I guess I parked over the cement stopper. Normally if I do this, I hear my car go over it, and back up. Though I didn’t know I was over it this time. Anyway, there was rebar sticking out. I only know this, as I backed my car up, I heard snap, crackle, pop. It pulled off my skid plate. I got ahold of Steve the resident manager. Explained what happened. He said he’d call the owner in an hour. I said I was on my way to work, and didn’t have that kind of time. He walked away and said whatever. So I said yeah, whatever. He comes back and tells me I don’t have to be so nasty. I said I was repeating what he said. Long story short, he had some balls telling a resident their nasty. He assumed no fault, as they always do. He was snippy with me, and unprofessional.
I’ve always put up with their half done gets the job done attitude. I’ve paid for a run down apt for too long bc I thought well, there’s worse. But the fact that I was talked down to by the manager is unacceptable.
The point of this review is to really advise against living here. The water gets shut off bimonthly for repairs, without enough notice, or no notice at all. The constant gardening is annoying. Loud residents only think of themselves. A child could do repairs more efficiently. The free WiFi doesn’t hit every apt.
I tried to think of one nice thing to say. They have a gym. That’s about it!
Truly, save your money and your aggravation! Raise your family in a better place!

Peaceful community with lots of greenery which means fresh air! We’ve lived here since 2012 & so far, no issues with safety. Units are spacious & floor plan is open & functional. Amenities include laundry rooms, gym & pools which are great esp during summer season! Great location too, only a few minutes from the beach, shopping & dining areas & church. Complex may not be the newest but the price is right esp for the space you get! Management is also attentive to your needs or requests for maintenance. Overall, great community to live.

Unsafe! You see Hispanics snooping and hurdling around the parking lot area all the time. Surveillance cameras are useless. The gates don’t work. The front door is easily broken in from outside. Anyone can just walk in here. Laundry machines don’t work right, just wasting your money. You have to pay for the extra parking space that is first come first serve (lame!). It’s super noisy you can get from everywhere: People walking, banging, knocking, traffic noise from magnolia st. It’s also super dusty. And lastly, your neighbor could be your burglar. Watch out!
