Decent food. It used to be good, but I feel the quality has dipped. Service is what I despise about this place. However, the food is pretty good. I like going on Sundays for their soup of the day, which seems to be some sort of cream of broccoli soup or something. I like to order the Com Ga Roti with red rice(tomato rice). The salmon isn’t bad, but it’s a little dry in my opinion. Steer clear of the steak, which is always cooked well done despite asking for medium.

Tai Buu Paris was not what I was expecting at all. I was thinking either it was going to be French-influenced Vietnamese food or Vietnamese-influenced French food. What it was, in fact(at least based on what I ordered, which was all off the French menu) was bland, soupy French food served from buffet-style warmers. Oddly, it was accompanied by macaroni, which was just plain macaroni noodles served dry on a plate, and french fries with ketchup. I could have been in a cafeteria in Anytown, America. I mean, I shouldn’t be too mean to them because where else can you get a duck dish in peppercorn sauce for $ 7.95? But it was just wholly unmemorable, plain macaroni, white bread, oddly gluey-tasting soup and all. If you ever feel the need to have the experience of eating buffet-style French-American food accompanied by a really strong, delicious durian shake, though, this may be one of the only places on Earth in which to do it!

Quality is lesser now. The man ran the whole place by himself sometime. That meant he held money, poured drinks, served food without washing his hands. *Chicken curry: 2÷5… potatoes were still uncooked. *Goat curry: 2÷5… mostly bones *Bo luc lac: 2/5…chewy *bo kho: 3⁄5 *rabbit stew: 2⁄5 tasteless *Halibut: 5⁄5 good *Filet mignon: 4⁄5

If only they rebranded everything, this place would be an awesome midrange restaurant. The food is always bomb! And at some damn good prices. Do note it is cash only. One of the must have apps is their sticky rice chicken(xoi ga chien don). You can literally just eat this with your hands as the rice is seared to perfection and the crunchiness is orgasmic for your taste buds once you dip it into the sauce and eat it with the tasty chicken(fried chicken that is). Their halibut steak is also damn good! At such low prices, you’d think the food quality wouldn’t be so great but I have to say that the fish was still juicy and was of generous sizing! Their beef tongue dish is another one of those meals sent down from heaven. It comes in this spicy sauce base that’ll give your taste buds a kick! It does come with a side of tomato rice(technically ketchup rice that you typically get with Bo Luc Lac) but I recommend getting a freshly oven baked baguette to dip into the bowl when you’re eating the beef tongue. It’ll soak in all the flavors much better. Another must have is their garlic frog legs. If you’re a fan of garlic chicken wings, you’ll be in for a treat with these frog legs. Shoot, even if you’re not particularly fond of trying out frog, I can guarantee you will fool any friend that these are chicken wings and they’ll savor every last piece without even knowing as this is how damn good the dish is. Come here hungry because you’ll want to order everything off their menu!

When I try new Vietnamese restaurants, I tend to always order rice with shaken beef(bo luc lac) as a safety choice. However, no place will ever beat Tai Buu’s bo luc lac. I’ve eaten here for as long as I can remember and it has never changed, in a good way! Love this restaurant!

I initially thought this place was pretty cool reading that it was a Vietnamese French fusion. The food was pretty darn good– I got the shaking beef(Bo Luc Lac) and it was so delicious! The beef was cooked nicely and the sauce had a nice sweet and tangy taste. The food I would give four stars, but I gave this place an overall rating of three stars because of the lack of customer service and terrible parking. I went on a weekday afternoon and the service was so bad even though there were only one or two other tables seated. We had to wave down the waiter multiple times to take our order. Also, the parking lot is small and the spaces are tight so it is difficult to get parking if the lot is full. This place is also cash only so be sure to have cash on you if you decide to eat here!

Food is delicious prices are cheap what’s not to like? Coffee is only $ 2 enter the parking lot at your own risk though. It is small and like most Asians, they’re horrible drivers.

The food here is so delicious! My favorite dishes are the ga roti and bo luc lac. The ga roti comes with soup, salad, bread, and macaroni or rice. I always get the red rice. The soup also changes; it’s either mushroom cream soup or oxtail soup. The garlic sauce is so bomb and it is perfect with the crunchy chicken. The bo luc lac comes with rice and salad. You can substitute their salad for more rice or whatever. They make the food very quick. I think the food is already made and they just heat it up with the microwave.

Okae Tai Buu, whats up with your togo orders lately! Please stop giving me mediocre fatty meat that you would not eat yourselves. Last couple to-go’s have been like that. Theres no reason to eat your food if you keep doing that each time! :/ Please be considerate of what you are pushing out to loyal customers. My bf’s WHOLE fam loves this place but we can no longer eat it if you keep giving us inedible food…

Yummy! I’ve been missing out. The service was good here and the environment seemed very clean for a Vietnamese establishment in the area. I really enjoyed the Bo Luc Lac here! The flavor was so addictive and was complimented well with my rice.

Tai Buu Paris is a low key looking Vietnamese food establishment that looks like it hasn’t updated inside since the 90s but it has it where it counts the most: the food. I had the crispy chicken with red rice here and I have to definitely say this was one of the best chicken meals I ever had — a meal with a thin crispy layer that didn’t overpower the taste of the tender chicken beneath it. Although the red rice seemed a little more bland than I expected it to be, the gravy-ish savory sauce that came with it offset that. Although I would love to come back to Tai Buu Paris to try their other items, I wouldn’t be surprised if I found myself coming just for the crispy chicken again. Tai Buu Paris is located on the side of the small plaza so parking is limited.

WOW! Their shaken beef(bo luc lac) is AMAZING!!! The meat was tender and the sauce was so good and it comes with a side of salad and an option of red or white rice, I picked the red rice to go with the dish. This dish was sooooo good! I will be coming back for it. HOWEVER, it does take a long time for the dish to come out and there’s no A/C at the restaurant. Don’t get the chicken with the sticky rice either. The chicken was very dry and hard to eat. Maybe it was an off day for them. And I expected the sauce to be a lot better. CASHONLY!

This place is a hidden gem. I always come for the bo luc lac($ 10.95). It’s hands down the best I’ve ever had. They make it differently than other places. It has this butter au ju sauce that is mind blowing!!! You can get rice or lil bagettes, I suggest both, that way you can dip the bread in the sauce! They also have a really good ga roti($ 7.25). Extra crispy with a really good dipping sauce as well. The cari ga($ 6.95) is also pretty good. They give you a great portion with lots of meat. Of course it comes with the lil bagettes which I think they might bake in house. It’s buttery goodness! I’ve also tried the banh canh cua($ 6.45). The noodles are very chewy and the broth is the thicker kind. It is a lil different than your typical banh canh. There’s no bells and whistles but still good.

Brodard had a really, really long wait and impatience got the best of me. I Unilocaled other nearby options. Tai Buu Paris? I hadn’t come here in 15 – 20 years! Back when it was on Magnolia and Bolsa, it was my buddies family restaurant. I’d frequent this place at one point in my life but had not been back since high school. Still legit for french/vietnamese. No frills type of place and cash only. You can get pre-made dishes or banh mi to go, or sit down and eat at the restaurant. I chose to sit, and ordered the Bo Luc Lac(aka french style or shaken beef) and fried chicken with sweet fried rice. The Bo Luc Lac was fantastic! Perfectly seasoned, cooked, and tender. One of the best i’ve had! The fries chicken was solid, it had a good crispy skin and the sauce complimented it well. It came with sweet fried rice chunks that looked like fried tofu. These were unexpectedly tasty as well. Well done Tai Buu Paris, glad to see you’ve still got it

It was a «Brodard is closed» Tuesday, so we threw around a few restaurant names before settling on this alternative. It was more than enough to make me forget about Brodard. Tai Buu Paris bills itself as a Vietnamese and French restaurant, so alongside Vietnamese favorites, you’ll also find menu items like a risotto or a beef bourguignon. It turns out that everything is well-priced, which was a pleasant surprise. I sampled a Xiu Mai Banh Mi($ 2.95) and a Xoi Ga Chien Don($ 5.95). The Xiu Mai is a giant pork meatball that’s still somewhat pink on the inside, served in a broth and with a portion of a long baguette. It is pretty tasty, and it could be a good appetizer or small entrée, although the person who ordered it had a small appetite. The Xoi Ga has a tasty fried chicken with rice fried to a crisp, along with a savory sauce. I would consider it a decent lunch portion. My personal pick, based on my personal preference with a nod to Unilocal recommendations, was the Bo Luc Lac($ 10.95). I try it very often wherever I go. The beef cubes were medium-rare and perhaps slightly underseasoned their own, but the sauce was unique in that it featured the flavor of garlic. The sauce made this rendition of the dish a special one, and I found myself sopping it up with extra pieces of bread(my choice instead of the red rice that is the more common starch accompaniment). I can’t recommend this place enough for Bo Luc Lac lovers, if not anyone who eats beef. This is now one of my favorites, and I’m excited for my next visit.

I took my friend here because she’s Vietnamese but born in France so I thought this would be a perfect spot for her since this is french-vietnamese cuisine. This place is a mom and pop-ish shop that’s no fuss. There’s a counter of hot foods that you can pick and choose from for to-go orders or you can sit down and dine, which is what we did. We ordered: Crispy Chicken w/Red Rice — Mmm red rice! And the crispy chicken was soo crispy and good. It came with this sauce that was garlicky and gravy-ish. You can also request garlic potatoes over the rice, but I love red rice. Meat Ball with Bread — I completely thought this was something else but this was a giant meat ball siu mai(viet style) in a bowl of broth. If you’ve eaten 7 Courses of Beef, this is the same siu mai meat ball except in a broth. I never liked this too much because of the abundances of peppercorns. You will get plenty of fresh bread and butter with your meal and it’s hot and yummy! REALLY affordable prices but it’s CASHONLY.
