WTF Wow! Tea ‘s Fantastic

A major WTF am I drinking? Geeeeez this place sucks. I got a hazelnut milk tea with boba and grass jelly. The grass jelly feels like it has hardened (???) and the boba is disgusting. It’s also a yellow color — I feel like I’m eating a child’s boogers *gags* never again NEVER AGAIN.

It breaks my heart that I have to write this review. A couple months ago, my gf and I had a late night craving for some milk tea. We decided to Unilocal a place and the name WTF! Immediately caught our attention. We both agreed that we had nothing to lose and ventured over to give them a try. The location is difficult to find as there is no street sign on Brookhurst identifying it, however it is located in the same center as Tip Top in the back. When we arrived the place was dead, in looking at the fixtures, the walls seem to use to house yogurt machines, now they were no more. The décor was nice and overall clean.
The menu was small but we were just here for some milk teas, nothing fancy. The women who took our order was sooo sweet and nice, (we later found out she was the owner.) We placed our orders of a regular milk tea with boba and a jasmine milk tea with grass jelly. We were the only ones in the store but it took nearly 10 min for our drinks. She was so sweet that we did not mind the wait. We also had an opportunity to talk with her and found out she just moved to OC with her family and had just bought this business. She apologized and told us they were in a transitioning period and were still having growing pains with the business. We were very understanding and told her we would definitely be back to support her.
When we got home we discovered our drinks were incorrect, she put the boba and grass jelly in the wrong drinks. A simple mistake, we brushed it off.
Fast forward, 2+ months later and 3+ visits, I sadly must report, she has lost our business we once promised her. Each time we visited our orders have been so screwed up, made incorrectly, things forgotten, and as much as we liked the owner we just cant give our hard earned money to her anymore. And the thing is we order the EXACT same drinks everytime!!! We would receive regular milk teas when my order is ALWAYS a jasmine milk tea. My gf orders regular boba, and one time they ran out and instead of telling us, they assumed mini boba would suffice. Orders would take over 15+ minutes to fill with NO ONE else in the store! The final grain that tipped the scale for us was the fact that the owner DOES NOT remember us! We have lengthy conversations with her about our lives EVERYTIME, we even brought our dog, but she doesnt remember us at all! Always asking if we’re new here! Seriously WTF?! (pun intended)
I tried, believe me, I TRIED to offer my support to this business, but after countless tries, I’m done. We wanted so badly to like this place, but they have made no progress at improving their business and it seems like they’re not even trying. It’s like being in a relationship with someone who just fucks up all time and you keep forgiving them hoping they can change, but they never do. At some point, you got to move on. I’ve turned my back on you WTF. This is goodbye.

On this cold, Sunday evening, the boyfriend and I stepped into this curiously named shop. With some tiled walls and a rounded counter, the store reminded us of a Yogurtland. The only people in the store was a lady sitting in the back (as she saw is, she walked to the counter to take our orders), and a man painting the walls.
I ordered a jasmine green tea with boba (my standard drink, especially when trying new boba shops), which somehow came out to a little over $ 4. This struck me as odd, but I paid anyway; the lady taking my order later served us two drinks (when I had only ordered one), which explained the pricing. They only serve one size for both the cold and hot drinks.
The drinks came out decently, though I would have preferred less ice.
Why the average review? Despite the okay drinks, there were multiple reasons for the fewer stars: the lady taking the order seemed unfamiliar with the iPad ordering system (took a few minutes to get it down), placed two drinks when I had asked for one, and had a guy painting the walls during store hours. It seems like a nice tea shop but could use improvement with running the business.

I got Thai Tea here but it tasted average at best. The boba was the one that really bothered me. The consistency was way to chewy, like chewing on a bunch of rubber bands. That means the pearls I got weren’t fresh. Subpar pearls really tick me off, especially when the business’s competition is serving much better quality.
There are much better boba shops around the area with better specialties, so don’t bother with this one. Because WTF Wow!, Tea’s NOT SPECIAL.

OMG! WTF!
So I was driving down Brookhurst and I see a banner for «WTF wow tea’s fantastic» and I thought WTH is that place so I went to check it out! Seriously, delicious tea! I ordered the «summer call» and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. Also, the lady at the counter was really nice and helpful. I really appreciated this because I’ve had a lot of bad experiences in the area. I’d like to try the other flavors… I will be back soon!

I revisted WTF recently with a friend and the store had been under new management for only 3 days. We ordered a bunch of little snacks (chicken wings, calamari, popcorn chicken) and 2 drinks and then lounged in the cushiony chairs and chatted away. During our stay, the owner (?) gave us a cup of iced water and iced tea and was friendly! Service is great, boba is delicious, food was filling and crispy. Hoorah, I’ll be coming back! Keep it up WTF. :)

I had one scoop each of cookies and cream and green tea ice cream and a plate of house special chicken wings for only 7.50! wings had excellent texture and flavor. Meat came right off the bones.
Also, service was excellent. Greeted us right at the door. The wait was a bit long but they gave us a free extra scoop of ice cream!

The readiness and willingness in which they were going to adjust my drink had already won me over during the few times that I have been here. I love this place. It’s comfy, clean, and friendly. The people were also just as nice and generous. This was somewhat early in the beginning of their opening, but one server even gave me a free milk tea along with the thai tea that I bought, which was completely delicious, just so that I would be able to give her input on the drink. The employees really do want to know how you feel about their drinks, so help em out!!! They really want to learn and be successful, which we can all respect.
Going back to the drinks: They were really rich. The milk tea drinks have a depth to them and they’re really strong, velvety, and smooth. WTF is happening to my mouth??? Hence the name? But the smoothies were also very great. You can forget about that cheap shit at Jamba Juice because these things were thick and fresh. Did not taste artificial. They still do have a few kinks to work out, but they’re new, so whatever.
Don’t be prudes. Go there. Buy something. Keep drinking. Even my mom likes this place… And she hates everything.

Came on a Friday night and it was so hot inside! We were all sweating as we sat inside and they finally noticed and turned on the AC. They have board games behind the ordering counter if you want to hang out there. They have many different snacks, shaved snow, and ice cream options, but I only ordered a drink. Place has a lot of couches for you to sit on too, but it could feel a little cramped.
What we got:
Not So Passion Slush ($ 3.25): passionfruit… I’ve been on a passionfruit crave lately. This didn’t taste like passionfruit and it was a little too watery in my opinion, but it wasn’t bad. Don’t know if I would get it again though.
The Dreamer ($ 3.75): it was blended milk tea with caramel and pudding? I would skip it… it was too sweet, barely any pudding, and it was watery too…
Service:
Girl that took our order was nice and didn’t look annoyed that we took so long to decide what we wanted to get. Drinks were made pretty fast and they brought it over to us instead of calling out our number.

THE FOOD
Ordered the Battered Mushrooms. From a shroom fanatic, the mushrooms were horrid. The outside was nicely brown and crisped but the button mushrooms are brown and soggy inside (assuming that they’re not fresh).
Ordered the Sour and Spicy Wings. The wings are small and full of fat bits. At least the sauce was good.
Ordered the Cheese Sticks. Tasted like any old cheese sticks! But one thing that they’re missing is the marinara sauce. So much better if they included some sauce.

Drove by this place, saw the name, and thought to myself… why would you name the place WTF?! Came a bit closer to the sign and saw what it stood for. I’m a boba fan and like to try all the new shops and see what they had to offer. The place is nice and looks a bit fancy because of the black leather chairs they had. There were 6 ginormous menu to the left of the door when you walk in. As I saw the menu, I was a bit overwhelmed as how much items they had. So it took me awhile to make up my mind and order. I felt bad for the person taking my order cause I took foreverrfr to choose something -.- I got the Summer (something) drink (cannot recall what I ordered). Anyways, it was peach and lychee tea with lychee jelly and basil seeds. The drink was decent. I wish I could taste more of the peach and lychee flavor, but it was fine since I did get less sweet.
The place was not crowded when I came. There was a guy studying on the laptop and a couple sitting on the couch either snuggling or making out… I couldn’t quite tell, but that doesn’t matter. I would definitely come back to try their snacks and ice cream/​yogurt that they available.
Remember to ask for the stamp card!

On my first visit here, I had to come here because of the name. I drove by it a bunch of times and always wondered, should I try it? There are soo many different boba/​tea houses opening up what’s the point of opening up another one.
The thing about this place is that they have Thrifty Ice Cream starting at $ 1! YES $ 1! Cheaper than Rite Aid across the street! You might not get that square scoop but the ice cream is delicious. My husband peter always get it when we go here.
Honestly, at all the tea houses there’s one drink that gets me coming back. My favorite drink here is The Red Choice. It comes with Strawberry Tea and strawberry bits. Their boba is okay so I usually just add coconut jelly to it. I love strawberries so you can’t go wrong with that.
As for the food dishes, I have tried the Snow ice and it was okay. I bit icy but what I do love from this place is the WTF House Special Wings. It’s tangy and sweet. Gets me craving for them sometimes. It’s a little bit oily but I like it like that. Very tasty! I have also had the calamari and it was good but they need to have it come with better sauce. It came with sweet and sour sauce and didn’t really go well with it.
Atmosphere: modern. I really like the comfy sofa chairs for you to hang out with our friends and watch a movie. They always have a fun movies playing. I have seen The Avengers and Ghost Protocol playing movies.
Price: Drinks are very reasonable. They average under $ 3 per drink! They also have a stamp card! Make sure you ask for one!
Customer service is AWESOME. That’s what always gets me coming back here. My first time here, I ordered my drink with Boba but when I got it, I didn’t get any and when I told them, I was notified that they actually ran out and gave me a different topping.
But that wasn’t what impressed me. Erin, one of the workers/​manager there actually found me on Unilocal and sent me a personal message and apologize about that and offered me a free drink next time I came in for running out of boba!
A few days later, I came back, I showed my message from her to one of the workers and they honored the free drink. Erin saw me come in and when I ordered and told the worker to make sure my drink was free. She apologized again and was very friendly.
The customer service here has got me coming back. When you come in, have a drink and try out their House Special Chicken wings! They’re addicting!

Decent

My boyfriend and I always make it a point to try new boba places, so we decided to give this place a try. They have a pretty impressive menu that has flavored teas, blended drinks, shaved snow, food, and milk teas. I’m always looking to try specialty drinks that are unique to certain boba places, so I got The Beanies (a milk tea drink that has green beans in it) and my boyfriend got the honey green milk tea. We were told that they ran out of green beans, so I opted to substitute for red beans instead.
There’s a few couches and tables to sit at, which is good if you plan on hanging out. There’s also a few games by the counter and they had The Avengers playing on a TV — both pros for bringing my 8 year old brother here next time.
There were some annoying FOBs hogging all the couches and being extremely loud while playing cards, so that sorta killed the mood. The food and drinks took a while (about 10 – 15 mins) to come out, but it was expected since they were new. They messed up and forgot to put boba in my drink, but they were very nice about remaking it. My boyfriend didn’t really like his drink because the ratio of ice to drink was way off. Like seriously, there was way too much ice in there! I thought my drink was good — definitely a unique drink that I have not gotten anywhere else. We ordered the house special wings and popcorn chicken as well and found the wings to be the better of the two. I thought the wings were delicious, comparable to getting wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. The popcorn chicken on the other hand, was sorta bland — not crispy or flavorful enough.
The girls were nice and friendly. They have a lot of drinks on their menu that I would like to try and they have an interesting variety of food as well (fish sticks, fried mushrooms, etc). I would have to come back again before I make a final verdict on whether or not I will continue to come back. Overall a pleasant experience!

New boba place! WTF is right, and no my acronym does not stand for tea’s fantastic, really does stand for what the and you know the rest. Methinks they not know how to make their teas. The first time I was here, I got the strawberry iced tea, I forgot what they called it, yes it was that forgetful. Way too sweet tea with too much syrup and strawberry bits, nothing special or extraordinary about it. I didn’t write a review at first because I tend to give places two chances before I start whipping out my claws and let them have it. Second time was yes forgetful also, I got some a lychee tea, while this time it was not soooooo sweet like that drink the first time, it was nothing special that WoWed me. The employee was very nice and helpful, also very attentive, the girl with the glasses who took my order was very nice all, very bubbly personality, but it was hard for me to understand her English with her thick accent. Tea took a while to come out, around ten minutes, even though I was the only one there that day. One thing that I will give them though is that they are new, so I will give them one last chance to earn some of their stars in the near future.
Décor is nice, very modern and all that, but what is up with all the LED lights going off at all corners of the store, way too much LED lights, it hurts the customers eyes, and man it sure gave me a headache. Way too colorful in here, even down to the bright yellow uniforms that the girls wore, reminds me of my trip to Vietnam so much lol. Not recommended at all my friends, save your time and money.

My fiancé and I go here so often that I’m sure they feel a disturbance in the force the moment we pull into the parking lot.
I’ve drank my way through a hefty chunk of their menu, which spans three wall-​mounted monitors (now, that’s a lot of boba).
This isn’t just a whirl-​once-​and-​pour-​into-​cup kind of joint; their teas, slushes, and smoothies are all carefully made to order. It’s apparent when they hand you your drink that they actually dedicated a great portion of their time to assembling the individual components for that single cup in your hand.
Consequently, you’ll be waiting longer than you normally do at other shops for your drink. But the quality of the end-​result is there and is more than enough to justify the extra wait time.
This place is unfortunately one of the most underrated boba shops in all of Orange County. Their product is consistently good, and the service is always friendly and top-​notch.

l love the tea in here, especially the Summer Call (peach tea and lychee tea shaken with basil seeds and lychee jelly). I also really like the food. I’ve tried popcorn chicken, and chicken swings. The flavor and the sauce are fantastic!!!
The cashier was really friendly and nice. After trying everything, you can say «What’s the… Friday!» XD

Upon entering this place, no employees were present. We had to wait around. My friends ordered teas and I got an advocado smoothie. The drinks took quite awhile to be done. All of the drinks were waaaaaaay too sweet. My smoothie was way too thick to drink, I needed a spoon to drink it. They also did not have egg pudding so I resided to milk pudding which was no good. I don’t recommend it.
The cool part about this place is the furniture. Very homey furniture rather than lounge/​boba shop esque. I would recommend this place to study at!

Went to try this new boba place that just opened recently. I ordered one of their fruit smoothies, called «The Opposite.» To my surprise, this smoothie was THICK and did not taste artificial at all. They actually used real fruits in the smoothie. It reminded me of a Jamba Juice smoothie, but better in my opinion because of it’s thickness and smooth texture. If you like Jamba Juice, their smoothies are worth a try!
The atmosphere was also very nice. The room is colorful and has some paintings hung around. The couches are comfortable. They also have a cool motion sensor trashcan!
