Brake & Tire

This shop is amazing! Walking distance from my residence. The staff has great communication and they were very timely with phone calls/​updates about my vehicle. I initially went in for brake and power window service. They gave me such a great deal, that I added on more repairs! They do ANY and EVERYTHING! Brakes, oil changes, winshield replacement, body work, you name it. My front left fender was damaged in a minor car accident, and they tooke care of this for me for a price way better than the dealer. The fender was replaced and painted so well, that you can’t tell that the front of my car was ever damaged! Superior service. Will definitely be back to Brake & Tire for repairs in the future! Thanks again guys!

Update: A bit disappointed that my follow up did not result with more than more issues. They did not take my car for a test drive the first time and maybe they did not need to for simple tire installation? I would say they needed to if my car had new/​worse issues than it did before. Their explanation was that my brake pad needed to be machined down and some part of the axle replaced. I am not sure why it became an issue only after I got new tires, but I guess I have to just take their word for it because they do not offer any warranty for their work.
I do like how this time they put a paper floor mat this time when they did the check up vs last time and I now have a muddied/​oiled/​dirtied floor mat. I would consider getting a quote from them for future work, but need to thoroughly check their work and request the paper mats.

First time I came here for some used tires to put on my car before I sell it. They were nice on the phone but basically just want to get you in the door. I told them my tires but when I got here they only had a size smaller which technically work I guess.
I was estimated to be out within an hour and ended up being there for 2, luckily I was not in a rush. All in all they were nice and it was a great price. Didn’t try up selling me much and did do a quick look for other issues.
The actual issue is that once I took the car out on the road, I could change lanes by taking my hands off the wheel… my car was slightly off before, but this was bad. My car also started rumbling after I was going highway speeds. I’m taking it back and will update on their follow up service

I normally don’t post reviews but I am so disappointed and pissed by this place that I felt the need to share my experience. So first, I am a college student struggling as it is, and I have a pretty old car. I brought my car to this place back in October of 2014 because there was smoke coming from under the hood. I knew it wasn’t overheating because the temperature gauge was normal. Well I found them on Unilocal and decided to give them a call. I called and told them about the issue and the guy said to bring it in. So the next day I brought it in and he said it was because of some issue that would be simple to fix. I said ok and said go ahead and fix it. Well a week after that I see the problem still wasn’t fix!
Fast forward now, two weeks ago I brought it back to get the brakes changed since last time I also had them change my back brakes since it was squeaking horribly. But a few days after the nose came back. Well this time they said it was the front brakes which needed to be changed. (I was told last time that my front brakes were still good and the back brakes were the issue). I said ok just do what you need to stop the noise and go ahead and change it. Well I have the car now and it STILL makes a horrible sound when I stop and on top of that my wheel shakes violently when I stop. I was told that I would have to come back. I don’t understand why when ALL I wanted was for my brakes to stop making noise in the first place. It’s like I basically paid them to mess up my car. Something so simple as getting my brakes changed shouldn’t be hard. I was ripped off and I am completely pissed. I will not be going back to them and I wouldn’t recommend anyone going to them either.

Unbelievable and unbeatable service, I recommend this car shop to anyone and everyone in the south bay.

It is very hard to find a great and honest mechanic. Here at brake and tire shop they not only fix brakes but also do repair and body work. I spoke to the mgr Dan over the phone who quoted me a better price then all the competitors around the entire city. They were very professional with their work. They also showed me the new brake pads along with the old so I can compare how damage my brakes were. Along with Dan, Morris the owner came out to greet us and made us feel welcome while we wait. While I waited in the waiting area many people who came spoke highly about this location.
Dan and Morris really showed they care about us and their business future. Best wishes to this great shop!!!

They say they’re open in sundays but I showed up at 9 am and theyre closed. This is a huge inconvenience. I really needed some work done. Guess they missed out on a good $ 800 job amd any future work.

First time customer, did a search on Unilocal on a Sunday. Only place open on a Sunday that I was able to find! Never seen this place, never heard of this place but decided to take my chances on getting some body work done. All I can say is holy crap!!! They did an excellent job and Tony the mgr is really cool, super nice guy and reasonable with the prices. I’ll definitely be going back to them for any other vehicle services!!!

Excellent customer service! Great prices. Needed my front breaks replaced and brought my car here. I ended up needing rear brakes as well and was quoted a great price and got my front and rear replaced in an hour!

I needed brakes last minute and BAD! I called Tony on Friday and quoted me a good price on my brakes. I took my car there bright and early Saturday morning, I had just gotten off work (graveyard shift) and wasn’t in the greatest of moods but Tony was a pleasure. I came back a couple hours later when my car was ready and the price was exactly what he quoted and I also have a lifetime warranty on my brakes.
Unfortunately just an hour later I had to return because my brakes were making loud noises and found out there was a defective brake causing it. If it were any other day, I would have been ok, but I was a little annoyed because I had to rearrange my plans for the day. If the mechanic just did a little test drive on my car (which he should have done) I didn’t have to return. However they worked on my car right away and we had to wait about 25 minutes, this time he did a test drive!
The only other issue I had was after getting my car back I noticed some grease around the ignition and the mechanic didn’t put any seat cover on the car. His clothes were pretty dirty and I’m a little bit of a germaphobe.
Wish I could give this place 5 stars but having to return after an hour is unacceptable.

Love this place! They took me 5 minutes before I called in and it was ready in about an hour! I had the back brakes done on a new 2014 car for $ 120. Great service! They not only do brakes but an auto body shop as well.

I came here after feeling and hearing a grind and iron to iron rubbing in my back brakes. Turns out I needed new rotors! My rotors had also worn my pads down completely! Thankfully, I found this place. Best prices in town and really nice guy (Tony).

Yep, here again and I need a new starter for my car. I guess the cold weather had it getting stuck so my car wouldn’t start up. The owner hooked us up with speedy service (my car was ready in under an hour), and a very competitive and fair price.
This has become my go-​to spot for auto repairs!

When I first called, the owner quoted me a price for a brake job at $ 90 and when I brought my car into the shop he said I would need more work done and I would need my front and back brakes done. He charged $ 90 for the front and $ 90 for the back and he didn’t charge extra. He was really kind. I also had called other places and they quoted me $ 200+. When I left he said thank you for your business and shook my hand, very professional.

BEST mechanic in South Bay!
We came in on a Sunday at 12:30, and they were closing at 2. Still said no problem and we can get the brake work done in time. Tony, who I believe is the owner, is so sweet and helpful. He explained everything to us and pricing was really fair.
Within less than an hour, the work was done. Car is good as new. Thanks Brakes & Tires! (Oh and they do allllll kinds of mechanical work. Not just brakes and tires :-))

HIGHLY recommended. Tony is very courteous. He took the time to explain why I needed new rotors, he actually walked me into the shop and compared my rotors vs. new ones. His prices are the best around (I actually called 3 other shops before I let him do the repairs).
He has a lifelong customer in me.

Went here to get my rotors changed before a long trip in the rain. They were very courteous and the pricing was reasonable. They got me in and out in time to stay on schedule as well.
