At California Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness we offer a variety of programs that can work for the whole family! In our 7 – 13 age range we offer an anti bullying course as well as our California Champion Program which encompasses Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and Mixed Martial Arts. Our adult classes include: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and Mixed Martial Arts, All Women’s Kick Boxing, Muay Thai, NOGI BJJ, Wrestling, Group Fitness Classes, Private Training, and Competition Classes.

History

Established in 2015.

California MMA and Fitness is one of LA’s leading Martial arts training centers. Our 4000 square foot facility is centered in Gardena CA. We specialize in Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, Kids MMA and Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu. Owned and operated by Jiu-​Jitsu and MMA Champion Chad George. Chad has brought in elite coaches from the industry to help him instruct at the academy including UFC veteran and Ultimate Fighter Champion Mac Danzig. CMMA will push you to achieve new mental and physical limits, and help you to reach your full potential. We will also help you develop a set of values only found in martial arts– self-​respect, respect for others, self-​defense, discipline, confidence, and responsibility.

My 7 year old daughter and I have been coming to CMMA for a few weeks now. I joined to lose weight and learn something new. My daughter is doing It for fun. I definitely recommend this place for beginners to advance. I see a good mix of men and women with different experiences and background. The instructors for the kids class AND adult classes are amazing. I feel challenged with every class I have taken. I like the personal care of breaking things down for me especially when this is my first time boxing. Chad and his staff are friendly and amazing people!

I’ve been at this gym for about 7 months now. It’s basically turned into a family for me. Every time I go even after taking a while off I walk in and it’s just as welcoming as my first day. There is no ego here and everyone is always very helpful when doing drills or whatever type of training is on the agenda. This place will become more of a craving to add to the day rather than just a regular workout. I’ve learned a lot in the short time I’ve been here training with Chad. I couldn’t have asked for a better gym/​home/​family to be a part of.

I came by to check this place out after seeing an offer on groupon. The coach Chad and the guys in the BJJ classes were very friendly and made me feel more than welcome! Nice spacious place. Everything looks organized and clean (very important for grapplers, no one wants ringworm!) No bullies just trying to beat up strangers. Everyone is here to help eachother improve their game. I plan on getting a monthly subscription as soon as my groupon runs out, and reccomend CMMA to anyone interested in BJJ, MMA, Boxing, or Fitness.

I just finished my second week at CMMA and am in love with this gym and everyone who trains and works here. Right from the start, everyone made me feel really welcome and was very encouraging. Everybody here is always more than happy to help out and this gym truly does have the open-​armed family feel that I was looking for.
I’m a beginner, so sometimes in class Chad will have me work with a more experienced person for a few minutes to learn the basics, which I really like, because it’s helping me form good habits from the get-​go and enabling me to build solid foundations. He understands that everyone has to start somewhere, and that outlook immediately made me feel comfortable and makes me want to keep coming back. It’s only been two weeks, but I can tell I’ve already improved a ton and it’ll only get better from here!
The workouts are great and nicely paced, Chad and the other coaches do a great job at making corrections and helping you improve while doing it in a constructive and friendly way, and there is a variety of experience in each class, so if you’re just starting out, chances are there are a couple of other people who are in the same place as you.
Side note: On Fridays, they have open mat, which is great because it’s a good time to come and practice and reinforce what we learned in class that week or just go over some other things that you may have questions about!
tl;dr Chad is awesome, everyone here is awesome, train here, you won’t regret it

Even though this gym is hidden behind the Max Furniture/​Carpet Warehouse, there’s a reason why this place has accumulated a ton of reviews already. There’s plenty of reviews for veterans of the MMA scenes and why they love it here, but this one is for those who are novices like me or have kids.
I was referred to this gym from a family member, and even though it’s far from home for me, it’s worth it. Chad George is not only a YouTube highlight machine, but a personable, sharp coach for every level practitioner. Though he must have a busy training and coaching schedule, he has given me his full and complete attention to correct me and answer my questions.
This welcoming attitude is mirrored on every level from the top down. From the other instructors to the front desk staff to the other students, everyone has been willing to teach me something new and encourage my progress, even when I am frustrated by my inability to pick up things as quickly as I’d like.
The kids, however, will be the real winners from this gym sprouting in this area. I wish I had world-​class fighters that were invested in me as much as these guys are. You can see the kids glow with confidence and having the time of their lives. They learn to respect their bodies, one another, and every situation they could find themselves in. Then again, the adults learn all this anew every time too, and I look forward to every session I can make it to.

One word to describe these guys is AWESOME! I’ve been calling around and looking for a gym to train out of all the gyms I’ve called this was the only gym I called that made me feel welcome from the first call. I talked to Chad on the phone and when I told him what I wanted out of the gym he explained to me what all about the classes and which one would be best for me.
When I arrived I met Julio who talked to be about the Jiu Jitsu class and how it will make me sweat alot and how its a great way to defend yourself without hurting the other person. Julio’s personality and friendliness made me feel welcomed and comfortable as i walked through the door.
As I started working out with Chad and the class I could see why people would gravitate towards him. I’m new to the whole training and class thing and I could see how much he enjoys what he does. The class itself was nothing short of amazing They were understanding of the fact that I am a beginner and helped me better understand what I was doing wrong and how to do it better. When I couldn’t train anymore do to feeling light headed I was told many people who started out was the same way and told that i will get better in time. It felt like everyone was family.
Overall I was blown away from my experience. This gym was all I expected in a gym and more! I signed up the same day after my experience. If you are looking gym I say look no more and come If you feel even half of what I felt while I was there you would sign up in a heartbeat.

I have been training under Chad George for over 6 years, so it was a very easy decision to follow him to CMMA. The gym has a huge mat area, boxing ring, heavy bags, pads, etc. However, aside from all of the available equipment and space to use to train hard, the gym fully reinforces it’s firm belief in a family atmosphere for all members. Everyone respects each other, trains together and maintains contact even outside the gym. If you’re looking to jump start your MMA career or just get in better shape while learning a martial art discipline, CMMA is the place to join and be part of in Los Angeles.

Cmma is a hidden gem in Los Angeles! Owner and head trainer Chad George is a great trainer and owner who knows that the students who train there come first! He is always taking time to help individual students improve themselves. He is an active fighter (check out his bass Von fluke choke on youtube!!) but he takes his classes very seriously! I’ve tried +10 gyms and have been disappointed in many ways: instructors who bark orders but don’t actually coach, poor workouts, no communal vibe, etc.
I now realize that I was spoiled while at the previous gym Chad George (CMMA owner) managed.
Chad simply is a presence and pure student of the art. He literally knows everyone in the professional MMA scene and keeps some of the best talent around him. «Lions hunt with lions.»
This creates an authentic community wherever he takes his camp and one that I dearly miss.
Most importantly, Chad is a great instructor.
Many fighters are good at what they do, but don’t have the awareness that is required for good coaching. Chad has the experience, expertise and intelligence that makes him not only a strong student, but perhaps an even stronger coach.
Whether you’re simply looking to build confidence or trying to climb the amateur fighting circuit, this is the gym for you. Only wish it were not so far from me.

This place is as good as it gets! I’ve been following Chad George for awhile now, and when he opened CMMA it only made sense for me to come here and train, and I’ve been in great hands ever since.
The facility is super spacious and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the instructors are top notch — I love that they really care about their students, and the classes are an amazing workout. This isn’t just a gym for fighters; it’s a gym for everyone. The members are very diverse and a mix of all levels, so anyone will easily fit right in and feel at home.
Can’t wait to see what Chad and his team have in store for CMMA in 2015; feel blessed to be a part of it!

Let me start out by saying that this gym is amazing! From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted by the friendly front desk staff who explain to you all the services that CMMA has to offer. They take you on a tour of the gym and they take the time to answer any questions you may have. They do a great job of making you feel very welcome. The gym is spacious, organized, and kept very clean.
BJJ: The first class I took at CMMA was the 6pm Gi BJJ class with black belt instructor Adrian Vasquez. Before the class started the Instructor walked up to everyone and introduced himself. He was very friendly and made it a point to speak to everyone and made sure everyone felt comfortable before the class started. The instructor had us do a very short warm up followed by some basic BJJ drills. After a short water break, the instructor began showing us the technique of the day. He broke up the technique into parts explaining each part in full detail. He made it very easy to understand. Once we started drilling the technique the instructor made sure to work with each group individually. He was very attentive and answered any questions the students had. Overall the class was very interactive and the instructor does a fantastic job at making it a fun and safe experience for everyone!

He tailors to all levels of martial arts practitioners. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro CMMA has something for you. So… Where do I start? First and foremost, this gym is by far one of the most beautifully desgined MMA gyms I’ve come across. The design behind CMMA is well thought out, from the front office entrance, to the show room, and finally the training room. The overall look and feel is phenomenal and inspiring.
Atmosphere: I attended my very first boxing class for the first time on Monday, and all I can say is WOW. I’M IMPRESSED. I was terrified and nervous because I had never done boxing in my life let alone train with professionals. The head instructor Chad George reassured me that I would be fine and that it would be a great experience. SURE ENOUGH… IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE.
Workout: The boxing class was a full body work out, definitely got me sweating up a storm! The instructor was fully engaged with all the student, making sure we were all correctly performing the right moves (jab!, cross!, hook!) For someone that has never done boxing, and with the training Chad and Julio were showing me, I felt like I could keep up with the professionals!
Staff: The staff at CMMA are extremely friendly! The front desk personel Tae and Julio are fantastic and knowledable of the services CMMA offers. Chad and Danny (owners) are personable and make it a point to speak with all the students that walk through that door. Staff is very welcoming!
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, if you’re looking to get fit, try something new, want to be a part of an atmosphere that is positive and uplifting. I would HIGHLY encourage you to check out California Mixed Martial Arts!
