Gutierrez & Son’s Tree Service & Lanscaping

What a waste of time!
I called for an estimate for getting some tall hedges trimmed around my house.
They sent out a guy (while I was at work) to didn’t give an estimate for the hedge trimming but instead tried to sell my wife on trimming an 8 year old willow tree «that really needs it.»
And the estimate for that? $ 750 !!!
Seriously?
By the way, my regular gardener can’t do the job at present (that’s why I called Gutierrez). But last year my regular gardener did the same hedge trimming job for about $ 300. That tells you something!
I would never call this company again.

Very professional. They came when they said they would for the first visit and sent the crew a couple days later. They were in and out as planned. Prices reasonable. I will use them again.

My wife made an appoint for a quote for 3:00 so I took an hour off work so I could be there also. Three o’clock came and went no call no show. So I call the next day left a message, no reply. Called the next day no reply. Apparently they are just to busy. I will let my neighbors know because he leaves his flyers on our gates.

I hired this company to remove some Golden Bamboo from a planter in my backyard, and to clear weeds and lay down several gravel beds. Needless to say, the bamboo removal was hard work, that needed a lot of strength, diligence, and knowledge. The crew got the job done, and the project went smoothly. The project manager (Mark?) periodically checked in to make sure all was on track and meeting with my satisfaction. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for their tree and landscaping services. They know what they are doing and do very good work.

Father and son came out to give us an estimate for tree trimming. Showed up on time and were very professional. We hired them to trim several large trees and bushes. They didn’t trim as low as we wanted so called and asked that they come back. No problem, very polite and they sent a crew out. We noticed after they left that they had broke some tiles on our roof. Immediately called to tell them. Of course crew denied doing it. Owner came out, inspected the damage, and fixed the tiles (luckily we had extra tiles). Appreciated that they took responsibility for the damage and quickly resolved it. I want to give them 5 stars, but the fact that the crew broke the roof tiles, did not tell us, and then denied doing it, does bother me.
Nevertheless, I would recommend them. They did a good job, cleaned and removed debris, and were very courteous and professional.

Mario and the crew has completed several weeks of work requiring new sprinklers, sod, MAJOR tree and shrub removal, new trees planted, new lawn seed, fencing, walkways, etc. I had several companies come to quote the jobs. Gutierrez and Sons were incredibly fair in pricing and their work product is above average. In several of the jobs, communication with a particularly snooty City was needed which was handled with professionalism and care. I quite certainly will recommend Gutierrez and Sons to my family and friends — IMO the highest compliment one can give.

Called them for an estimate on removing 2 giant Ficus trees from my curb as the City of Los Angeles does NOT remove curbside trees anymore when they start crumbling the sidewalk in front of your house. It is now a homeowner expense. Estimate was reasonable and Mario called me the next day to ask if I interested in their service. I said I was still deciding and he offered to reduce his quote by $ 100. Price was good so I called them in. Ficus trees were cut & removed completely & they left the work area clean & neat. My only issue is they forgot about the small tree that growing in between my backyard wall & the neighbor’s backyard wall that I told them about the day of the quote as there is a small gap in between both walls (I was at work the day the work was done). Still, I’m satisfied for the most part and I would recommend them to any one looking for tree services.

Mario and his crew continued to do excellent work at my parents’ home. Every aspect of the project has exceeded expectations. His crews worked incredibly hard and clearly knew what they were doing. Two months later, the landscaping still looks great, the masonry repair (which ended up involving wrought iron repair as well) is well done, and the house is being well received during open houses. Everything looked so good that the two neighbors contracted with him on the spot to have work done as well!
Mario also made an excellent recommendation for indoor/​outdoor painting. Highly recommended, I would use Gutierrez and Sons again any time.

Provided a quote that was double the average for a large job. Other services were quoting under $ 1000 for the complete job and this company was quoting $ 2,000 to start off with.
Informed him that I will need an official quote on paper, the guy go all shady and said this and that and if I could commit right away, he can do a bit less. Do less on what? An overpriced job in the first place!!! yeah right … shady company with shady operation … don’t even bother

I was told he would be over in 40 minutes to give me an estimate. 48 hours later and I am still waiting for him to show…
