Kindred Hospital South Bay

My husband is here now, has been for a week. All in all, Im really pleasantly happy about this facility. Just met with the «Team» about his care and they were informative, listened intently about my thoughts, very helpful with a plan to make his stay there as brief as possible. His room itself is pleasant, for a hospital invironment. Clean, kept up. Maintained. But I think — more importantly — is the QUALITY of care.
All in all (if he HAS to be recouperating somewhere) Im glad he is here.
UPDATE: Hubby is coming home today (Thanksgiving EVE). Again, the nursing staff, dr’s & Case management are wonderful.
Side note: My husbands «neighbor» in the next bed, the poor gentleman must have had a stroke… gets no visitors, nurses need to feed him babyfood… TRAGIC. My point? I visited my husband every single day, no one came for sit with this man, my hubby said no one does… POINT? The nursing staff talks to him so sweetly when they feed him. Ive heard them. the man doesnt answer. but they talk to him, wipe his mouth… so sweet. I KNOW its their job. But they dont have to be nice, they are because… well they ARE.
Just wanted to add that.

Be wary of any review that says this facility is clean and/​or professional. This place was a freaking nightmare. My husband signed himself out against medical advice because this place was so scary. Filthy, loud, and full of mental patients with staff that barely cares. They looked like the walking dead. Oh but the administration will try every trick in the book to get you to stay. Please check this place out thoroughly before you send a loved one here.

I hope you have other options for you or loved ones because this place is awful. My wife who is a nurse was shocked to see how poorly operated this hospital is. A lot of staff is under qualified to be dealing with some patients. My father who was forced to stay here due to his health insurance was neglected often as were many of the other patients there. My family and I stopped by a few times a day and would constantly catch them neglecting patients needs. I could into further detail but just know this is a horrible place and comparable to the lower end nursing homes.

Clean, older facility, plenty of staff.
It is what it is… a hospital.
