Baby & Me classes available. Group lessons have a four to one student to teacher ratio and are designed for students’ ages five to twelve. Each group is divided by age and ability in order to make sure that every student has an equal opportunity for growth. Adult swim lessons are also available and lessons for children with special needs. We also have a Swim team for those who are advanced swimmers who want to refine their swimming techniques, improve endurance, and learn the competitive components of swimming. Growing up I had always wanted to learn to swim. Unfortunately, my parents never took me to swim classes and there were times I was left out of certain activities because I didn’t know how to swim. Believe it or not, I learned in college because I took classes. I was the hardest student to work with. Just put it this way, I did NOT like getting water in my eyes (so I HAD to wear goggles), I did NOT like putting my head under water nor did I trust my instructor to help me float (I didn’t trust ANYONE). Yeah, I was a scaredy cat! BUT my determination helped me conquer my fear! Once I learned, I fell in love with swimming and it wasn’t just swimming, I actually learned the proper strokes. Thereafter I knew I would some day teach although at the time I didn’t know where or how it would happen. And now here I am, an instructor at Lucky Duck! I love to teach swimming! I think my experience is what helps me to relate to students especially those who are scared.
