Don’t do it! Take you chances with another company.

On August 8, I contacted Progressive seeking a quote for them to act as a broker to relocate my vehicle from Huntington Beach to Connecticut. I received the quote (#263 046-​HF). I then spoke with Benny Lugo on the phone and via email. He confirmed Progressive would handle the relocation and that the vehicle would be delivered no later than August 30.
Progressive stated that our car would be collected on Monday, August 19. It wasn’t. It was supposed to be collected on Tuesday, August 20^th. It wasn’t. The car was supposed to be collected on Wednesday, August 21^st. It wasn’t. It was finally collected on Thursday, August 22^nd at 9.30am by Performance Auto Movers. By this time we were concerned it would not arrive in time.
Instead, the vehicle never arrived. The vehicle may never have even left California. We don’t know. Phone calls to Performance trying to find out when the vehicle would be delivered advised that the mailbox was full. Phone calls to the driver went the same way.
Excuses from Benny at Progressive included «well, the company we used (Performance) had a fire and the building burnt down». (It didn’t). The driver’s father died (he didn’t). The driver is in hospital (he wasn’t).
Performance Auto Movers operates out of a trailer in a lot in one of the worst areas in Los Angeles. I know this because I had to go there to find our vehicle (eventually).
Speaking to Benny on Thursday, August 29, he advised the car had never been collected and was, in fact still in Huntington Beach (it wasn’t). This, despite the fact that Progressive had confirmed the car would be delivered by August 30. On that day Benny advised that because the car had been collected, it would be delivered (it never was).
Finally, through our own investigation and with absolutely no help from Progressive, we found Performance on September 3^rd and got our vehicle back — thank goodness we had a spare key. The car was on a lot accessible to the public and absolutely filthy. We don’t know if it actually went on a relocator vehicle or if it had been driven somewhere by their staff.
We now have to start the entire process over — hopefully this time with a reputable company.
Save yourselves a lot of headaches and simply drive the car yourself. Auto Relocation companies are scam artists and dishonest.

Worst Experience with them ever! They picked up my car from my place (they had to drive my car to their warehouse) which I was not aware at the time that they would do and they did not tell us anything in advance why. They gave a lame excuse like they could drive the truck over here to pick it up because they can get a ticket… but that wasn’t true considering we saw the same kind of truck just the day before picking up a car.
They pick up the car roughly 10 days in advance from the delivery date and I told them that they will get the the car on a certain date. When called one day before the car was suppose to be delivered they said that they will deliver that night. Night came it was the next morning… and so on. So when I called they gave a lame excuses after another. They won’t even deliver to our place they wanted us to meet them somewhere a few miles away because it was more convenient for them. They say delivery from your place to your next destination.
Believe me when I say this company is shady.
