Was in the area and decided to go to Raku Raku, only to find out it had closed. I ended up going to «New Little Dragon» next door and was told the Owners had closed down, that there were was a new business going to open in July.

This was a quick decision place i chose to eat for lunch! I got the teriyaki plate and i was not expecting it to be a huge platter. I would rather not have the sushi rolls in the platter and more vegetables! I was definitely amazed by that! I had a delivery and it came in a very timely manner. I’m not a fan of the soup it comes with but overall i will be eating here again

Came here craving for sushi but I ended up getting the cheese katsu hehe. When we came in we were kindly greeted by the only waitress working there. For being the only waitress her customer service was great. The place wasn’t full there were a total of 3 parties but nevertheless, she was attentive to all the tables. The food was good but it wasn’t anything over the top amazing. I also love the jazz music they have playing. It’s very calming and suites the place nicely.

I am very shocked that this place has 4 stars! It must be for the non-sushi items. It would have been 1 star but the staff seems friendly so 2 stars. We ordered 3 sushi rolls for take out which took 20 – 30 mins. Most of the sushi rolls on the menu had imitation crab. Yuck. The three we ordered that didn’t have any were Aloha, Hawaiian, and Sesame Salad which came out to $ 40. All 3 rolls were drenched in sauce, they were small, the fish wasn’t fresh(in fact, in the Aloha 50% of the fish was the bloodline, gross). I wish I took pictures! For the price we paid and for what we got, it wasn’t worth it. I do not recommend this place for sushi or sushi rolls. Fortunately, being in the South Bay there are plenty of better options.

Sushi is good for a strip mall place like this. Fish is pretty fresh. Price is a little expensive for the quality. The service is very slow. Staff is not attentive.

Pretty good quality but slightly expensive for what it is. Can’t remember what sushi I got but it was good. My friend had beef curry and I remember thinking the beef was surprisingly pretty good. I think their jalapeño poppers really turned me off to the whole experience though and scarred my opinion… So I’m used to getting fresh jalapeños w tuna and cream cheese deep fried at sushi places… Theirs are worse than jack in the box! Do NOT get them. Frozen and not fresh.

Surprised. I thought I tried this place once before only to be disappointed but MUST have been another place because last Saturday I ordered delivery from here off Eat24 and I have to say the food was really good. We order several rolls and they were all tasty. The delivery was fast. Remember to have your phone on, the delivery guy was a little frustrated that I did not answer. They just like to verify your order when you order through Eat 24.

Japanese sushi restaurants are a dime a dozen in Gardena. How can one stand out amongst the sea of options? Consistency. I’ve been to Raku Raku about four times now. And every time I’ve visited Raku Raku, it’s been sensational. The sashimi is cold with bold flavors. The soups are tasty and delicious. The Bento Boxes are large and colorful. And it’s all delicious EVERYTIME! Something I really liked about this joint were the oak barrels they used to make tables. The barrels really added a unique touch. Great place. Highly recommend it.

I found a dead insect in my salad! I should have known something was up because there were flies inside the restaurant that I had to keep shooing away. After seeing a dead insect in the my salad,(this wasn’t a fly I was shooing away, this one came from the kitchen), I lost my appetite and could not finish my food. My waitress was kind but after speaking to her boss, he only gave me a 10% discount. He’s a cheapskate and I honestly feel like I shouldn’t have had to pay for any portion of that particular entrée.(I had 1 appetizer and 1 entrée.) I didn’t want an argument and I didn’t want to fight so I just took the measly discount and left. I will no longer be back. Beware, this place is unsanitary!

This place is awesome! I’ve only ordered delivery, so I can only speak about my experience with that. They’re very prompt(although sometimes it can take a while because they’re busy which is totally understandable) and the food always comes so neatly packaged! I usually order the hungry roll, crunch roll, Cali roll, and I’ve had the rainbow roll and salmon nigiri which were all sooooo delicious! I love that they don’t charge for delivery and for the amount you pay its really worth it! Another thing that’s great about this restaurant is that they call you to notify you if you’re order is going to take a while longer, much more convenient rather than having me wait and wait for my order with no idea what my order status is. If you haven’t tried this place yet I really recommend that you do! Trust me you won’t be disappointed! So worth it!!! :)

I gave some time to write my review for this place because. well, I had a lot to write about this place. I used to frequent this restaurant when it used to be located on Sepulveda Ave in other side of Torrance. I know things have changed and it is just not the same anymore. I went here for dinner and there was no one in the restaurant. I have this thing where I dont want to go in when there is no one in there because all the servers are going to look at us. But whatever, I was hungry so I went in with my boyfriend. We were greeted by one of the female servers and sat down. The girl gave us the menu and we looked over and placed our order. It was a different girl taking our order but she looked so questionable the whole time. She didnt write down or anything, just memorized in her head I bet. We got our sesame in a little bowl for the sauce and a wooden grinder to grind the sesame seed. She just placed it on our table and left. We got our food and I, not good with chopsticks, asked for a fork and a knife. I got my knife to completely cut my cheese katsu and OMG, it was so freakin dirty. Its like, do you even check what youre giving it to your customers? It looked like it wasnt washed. It was disgusting! Food was mediocre at best. Wasnt the same as before. The meat portion was pretty good I have to say but I have seen and had better katsu before definitely. The girls(servers) were busy chatting in the back by the register and when I try to get her attention, she obviously didnt notice me because they were chatting. The guy who I think is the owner or manager or just someone who can tell the servers what to do, told her that the customer is calling and thats when she came to us. After that guy went out for a delivery, one girl stayed at the register, sitting down the whole time chatting with another girl. One of the girls, everything she did, looked so weird and uncomfortable. Like, I wanted to ask, do you know what youre doing, seriously. I think customer service is the most important part of the restaurant and obviously, this restaurant does not meet my requirement of a good restaurant. Not coming back.

Good food. Friendly staff that’s didn’t get frustrated when I was asking a bunch of questions lol. The portion is small for the price but it is sushi so that’s kinda how it usually goes. Overall it’s a tasty place w/chill atmosphere. Good date place.

UPDATE: I spoke with the owner who apologized and is issuing a refund for the issues I experienced. His response and care for the business earned them one extra star. I would try them again, just maybe not on a Friday night/delivery. I ordered for delivery at 7:37pm through Eat24. My food was suppose to arrive in 45 – 60 mins, which was then changed to 75 mins, then 90 mins and actually arrived at 9:51pm. They claimed they were busy. Over 2 hours for food is ridiculous, but I have limited delivery options and was not able to drive/cook last night, so I stuck with them. For their part, they discounted my order and sent free soda(I dont drink soda). BUT, the food was a problem. Spicy Chicken bowl with white meat only and fried rice(I upgraded for both): First off it was mainly dark meat, was not spicy at all(i asked for their Spicy level) and was cold(2 hours will do that). The fried rice tasted like pure salt. A waste of money. Hot Soba: Not hot. Very salty(im noticing a theme). Miso soup: tasted like soup base, I added hot water(which made it luke warm) and good. Steamed vegetables: well cooked and the best part of the meal… literally just plain steamed veggies. Vegetarian egg rolls: cold-luke warm(depending on the egg roll) but decently good. The sweet and sour sauce was actually sweet and spicy, but not bad, there was one little container(maybe 1.5 tablespoons) for an order of 6 egg rolls. All in all, very disappointing food and services. When the driver arrived, she called me. I live in a small apartment complex and she told me that their policy is to not come into apartment complexes! What? You are to deliver food… what if I had kids and I couldnt come out to the street to make several trips to carry all the food that she was carrying in a small laundry basket? this policy was absurd! I learned from a phone call to them before ordering that their ramen and udon broths are made with chicken and pork but that their soba is fish based.(this info is for those who, like me, may have a food allergy… i am allergic to pork). I will be calling them to complain directly regarding the Spicy Chicken bowl, but I dont foresee them doing anything about it.

It wasn’t that this place was bad but I felt that the portions could have been larger for the price. The food was alright, I had the curry katsu, the katsu was dry and the amount of curry was very small. The location of this place was great since there was plenty of parking and there aren’t that many sushi restaurants in that area.

Highly disappointed :/ It took 1hour and 45 minutes to get my order and when it finally arrived food was ICECOLD. Contacted them and talked to the owner and he stated they are not responsible for the food arriving cold. Worst most negligent customer service I’ve ever come across. I understand something could have happened: traffic, flat tire, couldn’t find the house, etc. But not acknowledging the issue sure left me with a bitter after taste.

I love Raku Raku! Such friendly staff and the sushi is amazing too! I only get delivery because I’m really lazy. The delivery guy, Keith-I believe is his name, always makes the order/delivery process painless. He always repeats the order and the address every single time to ensure accuracy. That might sound basic, but it seems people normally don’t do that anymore because any other I’ve gotten delivery elsewhere, they call me saying they misheard the address and what not. I can only vouch for their sushi and the udon– I have yet to try the other items on the menu. I’m sure they’re all good.

Their food is good, I’ve had the Aloha roll, it was great the first time but the second, I got a really bad piece of yellowtail, so be careful when ordering this. The salmon tempura roll is delicious with the right amount of crunch, the Raku Raku special is tasty. I had their yellowtail sushi and didn’t really enjoy it, I got some cuts that had an odd chewiness to them. Maybe I’ll stay away from their yellowtail from now on. I had to knock off a star because their delivery took 1 ½ hours, and when they finally came to my door, I received no apology. Just a «here you go». I live pretty close so there isn’t really much of an excuse to be that late. There are much better sushi places out there, Raku teeters on «Ok» and«Good». They will still hit the spot if you are close by, other than that I wouldn’t waste a drive or order delivery.

Went here yesterday during my work day with my coworker. We were sat right away and service was fast and attentive. We ordered way too much food though! — Crunch Roll — Rainbow Roll — Hot Night Roll –Baked Mussels — Edemame Came out to under $ 40.00 Everything was good. The Rainbow Roll came with an eel sauce or ponzu on top of it though we were not use to. Typically the Rainbow Roll comes dry. But besides that no complaints! Good prices, a lot of food, plenty of parking, and not overly crowded.
