History
Established in 1957.
Our office was opened 56 years ago by Dr. Julian «Jay» Stahl, who passed on a family tradition to his son, Robert, in 1990. Dr. Amy Jo Calder joined the practice in 2004. We have provided comprehensive vision care to tens of thousands of satisfied patients in our history. Drs. Stahl and Calder have a combined 30 years of experience. We provide vision care services in a professional, conscientious, and responsible manner.
By utilizing the latest equipment and techniques, we can assure you that our optometrists and staff will provide you with a great experience when you come to our office. We have had great success in using the Optos Digital Retinal scanner to assess the retina. We use a state-of-the-art optical lab in order to deliver your glasses effectively and efficiently. We have complete stock of thousands trial contact lenses so that we can fit you in the optimum contact lens for your particular eye.

Dr. Calder attended Southern Utah University as an undergraduate and subsequently received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry. Following graduation of Optometry school, she spent a year as a resident optometrist at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles before she became a valued member of the team at our Gardena practice. She has served as the president of the South Bay Optometric Society and was named California’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 2009.
