Specialties
Pronounced «shin sen goo-me», the name was taken from the historical samurai clan who fought for a great «cause» during a civil war in Japan. Their commitment to excellence and sincerity of service to the nation became our model for serving excellent, traditional Japanese cuisine to our valuable customers. We are open 7 days a week, every day of the year, even on holidays. Whether you are picking up a meal on the go, having a family dinner, or enjoying a drink with your friends, this is the right place to come enjoy a refreshing and pleasant dining experience.
More than just offering Japanese food to Americans, Shin-Sen-Gumi believes its mission is to offer this food in the most authentic state possible. This is fusion of culture in a true sense and if that is achieved the relationship between cultures is finally equal. For that purpose, Shin-Sen-Gumi has produced videos for the purpose of showing the correct way to eat Japanese food. When in Rome do as the Romans do so to speak. We would like Americans to study the authentic way to eat Japanese cuisine.

Meet the Business Owner
Mitsuyasu S.
Business Owner
Shin-Sen-Gumi owner and «Kyokucho» (Chief Boss) Mitsuyasu Shigeta was born in Tokunoshima, Kagoshima prefecture in Japan on September, 8th 1965. In June of 1996, he able to open the «Shin-Sen-Gumi Chanko Restaurant» and the «Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen Restaurant» at the same time in Gardena, surprising the Japanese community in Los Angeles. In the 15 years since being founded the Shin-Sen-Gumi group has expanded to 11 restaurants in the Tokyo and Los Angeles area and has become a large establishment that was unimaginable in the beginning.
This hard working, passionate group is led by Mr. Shigeta and instead of losing steam, Shin-Sen-Gumi intends to only get stronger.
