History
Established in 2012.
A DJ from 1960’s Birmingham radio and a former owner of a southside record store, both long time record collectors, have joined to create the perfect record store for vinyl records, Birmingham records. Ray Edwards who worked with guys like Duke Rumore, Johnny Gray and George Lewis Wyatt III on WYDE in the mid and late 60’s teamed with Jack Wilson who ran a popular southside record store and bar in the 70’s are both members of The Birmingham Record Collectors club and the Alabama Record Collectors club. Having shopped at hundreds of record stores across the nation, they wanted to make their store the best of what a record store should be. Combining their efforts the result was Birmingham records in Gardendale, just north of Birmingham, Alabama.
