The main guy at the counter(Raymond, might be an owner) was very helpful and had some good options for replacing some old moulding that isnt made anymore. I left for home to get exact measurements, and called back about an hour later, left my order just to call back a few days later to find out my order was thrown out. Now I’m seeking other options. Full story: So I left with a good feeling, place is an old school hardware shop, people actually know things, not like the big box store. In fact I had just left a Lowes where an employee informed me I was«shit out of luck» on getting the moulding I needed at their store. Now my problems started with trying to order my moulding. I went home to get my exact measurements, as my trip was just fact finding to find something that could replace 100 year old moulding, does what I want even exist and at what cost. So I get home measure and called back to leave my order(on a Saturday afternoon). I’m told Raymond is too busy call back in 5 minutes. I wait 10 and call back, still too busy so guy on other end is going to take my order. I give him the part number and how much I needed and think that everything’s fine. Im told my order will be available on Monday or Wednesday and I’ll get a phone call to come pick it up, perfect I’m a happy customer. I’m mentally making this my go to shop for hardware, my house is old so Im always doing projects($$). I call Wednesday evening before I leave work to see if I can swing by and pick it up. Thats when I’m told my order was thrown out and what is my part number and how much did I need so this new guy on the phone can order it(probably just to throw it away). Part number and dimensions are at home and I’m furious because what was the point of placing an order if it’s going to be thrown out?!? I wanted to start my project tonight, not wait more time for them to figure out how to take an order. I calmly ask why it was thrown out, and I get some lame excuse about the guy who took the order(wasnt Raymond, never got to him I was told he was busy) put it somewhere and it got thrown away. I then asked why they didn’t bother to call me back(I supplied my phone # with my order) all I got was dead air and a renewed request for the part number and dimensions so they could actually place the order. Thanks for nothing Garfield Lumber, I’ll go to Kuiken Brothers, hopefully Ill get better service or at the very least they wont throw my order away. I wont be going back to Garfield Lumber in the near term. It’s a shame because like I said the guy at the counter was very nice, polite and helpful. But whoever they have answering the phones, definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Order at your own risk, I won’t be shopping here in the future.

Great selection, especially of moldings, and super friendly staff that don’t make you feel like an idiot if you don’t know the difference between base shoe and quarter round.
