Not impressed with their food. They had a catfish special that was good but that’s about it. Their Hanoi style food was nothing like what I has in Hanoi. It was too sweet and lacked depth. Seem like every Asian cuisine becomes sweeter once in the US. Where are the rest of the other flavors? Won’t RTE.

As a foodie group organizer, I called and planned to bring a group of people to have lunch there. But the manager was very rude talking to me. I’m afraid that is it. Service/attitude/experience is just as important as the quality of food/cuisine.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Being Vietnamese I was VERY disappointed in this place. It was recommend by a local so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the phở and the broth tasted like water. There is was little meat in the phở. We also ordered a drink that never came but was still charged for it. We also ordered an appetizer and it came after the phở. WTF.

So far the best phở restaurant in north dallas. My family and friends come here at least once every 2 weeks, that’s quite a bit since we are Vietnamese. They are very clean, service is always fast and great! You always want to eat phở where all the Vietnamese eat their phở, and this is the place!

My favorite here is Bun Bo Hue and Bo Nhung Giam. The waiters are nice, and the price is okay.

This place has my favorite phở most of the time, but other times it’s awful. The meat is sometimes cut too thick and dried out, with maybe two pieces of it in the entire bowl. But, I keep coming back for more. I think the staff actually recognizes me now I come so often. It’s not a «white people» restaurant. There’s Vietnamese TV shows playing, Vietnamese desserts(which are really weird tasting if you’re not Vietnamese), you get the idea. So don’t expect your server to be like the ones at Denny’s. They take your order, bring you your food, and if you need anything else you flag someone down. You don’t get a check, you just walk up to the register and tell them what table you were at, and they may ask you what you got. I actually like it, I work as a waitress at Denny’s and I think constantly checking back without being flagged down is unnecessary. A useless formality. Get the iced coffee with milk. It’s the strongest coffee you’ll ever taste, but is still slightly sweet and creamy. Even if I come here late at night I always get one to go. Better than Starbucks. Coming here can be risky as far as phở goes, but it’s usually good. Took off one star for the risk factor.

Been coming here on and off for years, since they’re one of the only restaurants open early in the morning down the street from the church I attend when in Dallas. Food: Phở broth is really flavorful and the portions of noodles they give you is fairly decent for the price. I only like soft tendons in my phở, but they are REALLY generous on that. I’ve picked at the chargrilled meat off of various siblings plates and its delicious. Service: ehh you walk in they take your order on their little iphones, run back with water, and then drop your food off and you’ll never hear from them again. Typical vietnamese restaurant. But they’re quick about getting the food out, and they have a selection of things you can just grab on your way out after paying at the register.

Banh gio — Contains pork and mushroom — Good. 4. Sua dau nanh — Soybean — Very good. 5. Banh tet — Stuff inside :) — Very good.

This place has plenty of room for big parties but I find it being kind of slow everytime I go here. The phở is decent and the bun mam is their specialty noodle. The bun is pretty good but thats about it. The tofu is pretty popular there and thats what people go in there to buy. The service is ok and so is the atmosphere. Nothing really stands out about this place but its not a bad place neither.

Came here for the phở and it didn’t disappoint. It was fresh, hot, and not as oily as some phở restaurants. It tasted very homemade. There was plenty of meat and the portions were a good size. A ton of people dropped in just to buy their fresh fried tofu pieces by the box. Whenever they brought out a fresh batch, it was gone within minutes. I got myself 2 boxes to see what it was all about, and after stir-frying them and eating them, I can see why people flock over them.

Defintly a four star place The three course Vietnamese grilled meat plate was awesome Three different types of meat grilled almost the same but slightly different. And the whole catfish, baked, was really delicious crispy and flavorful on the outside(the skin) hot and juicy on the inside. Plus the rice paper and the choice of vegetables add a unique flavor to each roll, depending on how you make it. Minus one star because of the language barrier/service but overall it was good. Come back? If I’m ever around, OFCOURSE!

Food here is good. I specially like bun man and phở tai. However, this place is not too clean. The restaurant should improve on this aspect.

One of the cleanest Vietnamese phở places I’ve been to, and it’s relatively big since they expanded their restaurant not too long ago. Before I talk about their food, I must say, pretty clean restrooms! I don’t know, most Asian restaurants don’t have clean restrooms.anywho. I think their phở is pretty good. You won’t be disappointed but it’s not the most AMAZING. But if you have a group of friends who wants to try other things, this is a good phở restaurant to go to. I do love their Korean BBQ rice plate. They give a generous amount of meat. They also have fresh soy milk and tofu.

This is my go to place to get authentic and quality Vietnamese food. Their ingredients are so fresh! You can tell by the tenderness of the meat they use. Must try the homemade tofu with ginger candy sugar for dessert!

I had been coming to this place for while a few years and had never been offended. Ordered phở and a vermicelli, even though i kn the vermicelli would take longer but i didnt expects it to come 30 mins after my husband finished his bowl of phở. The waitress was super rude and didnt even seem to cared or apologized once. And when the bowl is finally arrived the meat was undercooked. I never been so disgusted with the services. Sorry will never come back.

Pleasantly suprised and happy with the food. The Phở was out of this world. It’s not often that you find yourself wanting to drink every last bit of broth from the bowl, but that was certainly the case here. My GF tried the pepper steak and was all but licking her plate. If you are in the area, give Doan restaurant a try. They also have bakery goods for sale as well.

When me and the boyfriend want good Asian food and can’t decide where to go, we usually end up here. Although I wouldn’t say they’re the best at anything in particular, everything I’ve tried at Doan Restaurant is at least above average. The place is also pretty clean and nicely decorated for a Vietnamese restaurant. While I’ve tried a good amount from their menu, I generally go for the phở dac biet or bun bo hue(good, but not as good as Phở Tay Do!). And of course, some of their hot tofu with ginger to go! Omg droolz…

Phở is decent here. I always get the phở tai bo vien but the beef is not rare when they bring it out. I loveeeeee their hot tofu that they have. Sometimes they give it to you for free when you dine in during weekends. I just get it to go and eat it later. It’s only a buck and it has the ginger sugar syrup that goes on top. It’s very healthy for you and perfect for winter! They have a good variety of desserts(che), too.

So, my last review was a bit dismissive and rightfully so. It was written more than a year ago, and things have changed. New owners have come in, redone some of the cooking and the décor. More importantly, the food is significantly better. I’ll just outright say it. Their phở easily rivals if not beats Phở Bang now. I know that’s a lofty statement, but trust me. It’s that good. Their rice dishes and vermicelli dishes have also improved, due to better marinades and cooking for their pork and beef and chicken. Ambiance is bright and comfortable, and significantly cleaner than rival phở places(if that matters to you). All of the waiters speak English and apparently take your order on smartphones, lol. Anyways, well worth trying and highly recommended for phở.
