Geek On The Go

I need to have a battery replaced in a laptop. After reading the reviews I thought I would give them a try.
I called up and spoke to their receptionist — I am guessing. She seemed nice enough, but wasn’t overly knowledgable about computers.
After describing the issue a couple of times she told me that they no longer do hardware repairs.
So I am still looking for a solution.

I called James to fix an issue with my laptop. We disagreed about what was causing the problem and when his initial fix didn’t work I told him I was unsatisfied. James came back to my house, picked up the laptop and applied the fix that I thought was necessary, even though he didn’t think it would fix the issue. He did this extra work over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Fast forward a month — In the end, James’s initial diagnosis was correct. The extra work he did to make me happy, which he didn’t charge me for, wasn’t the solution. While his review of me as a customer would probably be much less complimentary (deservedly so), I can’t complain about the job James did. His initial diagnosis was spot-​on and he went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.

James is really nice, super calm and laid-​back guy — he fixed up my computer from a terribly annoying pop-​up virus that i downloaded from a Pinterest link for an invitation file that Norton was unable to handle. He took off 3 years worth of spyware and my computer is SOOO much faster — YAY!!! We were planning to get a new computer because we thought this one was too old and too slow, but after he fixed it up in an hour and half for $ 150 — we are keeping it and saving a lot of money that way! YAY :)

I would highly recommend Geek on the GO. We moved to Dallas recently and operate a home business/​office. When we had technical difficulties getting a strong signal in our back house system after converting from TW to U-​Verse a family member recommend Geek on the Go. James returned our call and set up an appointment quickly. He was on time, worked quietly and efficiently and was very patient with our issues and questions. We are both a MAC and PC house. He cleaned and updated all the desktop computers as well as laptops and insured they were receiving the correct signal and working well.
His cost was very reasonable.

Very personal customer service, knowledge and reasonable costs. I love doing business with local independent businesses and James is great! I run my own Recruiting Firm, TMS Recruiting and my hard drive indicated it was going to fail after I ran some diagnostic tests and realized I had to act fast. I called James at DFW Geek On The Go on Saturday and left a message, got a call back the same day and made an appointment for Monday morning to have James come to my home office and work on my laptop. I had previously called another IT repair chain but the costs were not only high but turn around time was 3 – 5 days and running my own Recruiting business, I couldn’t afford to be with out my Laptop for up to 4 days. When I read the reviews about DFW Geek On The Go on Unilocal and Angie’s lists, I was pleased to find that local, great customer service still exists and the results were so cost effective. James took all the necessary information from me on Saturday, purchased a new hard drive for me so I didn’t have to, showed up on Monday morning as promised with the new hard drive and was able to clone my old hard drive to my new one, ran tests to make sure all was working well and was in and out of my home office in around 2.5 hours. I didn’t have to leave my home office and I was up and running again as if I hadn’t missed a beat. Great job and reasonable costs. I will definitely use DFW Geek On The Go next time I have any IT related issues and will recommend them to my friends and colleagues!

I called and was immediately able to schedule an appointment for the very next day. My lap top needed «Cleaning and a tune-​up» and my wireless printer needed to be reconnected to my lap top. Both were done in a timely manner. I asked for help in instructing me how to do this myself the next time and he slowly gave me instructions while showing me on my computer. I was extremely pleased with this service.

My wireless printer was unable to connect to the ATT router that I just had installed by ATT. I spent 6 hours on two different evenings on the phone with ATT Connect Tech out of India and the Phillipines and they only deactivated all of my settings and then told me they could not fix the problem. I called James at Geek on the Go and he came out to my house quickly and fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes. He is now my new tech person in Dallas! He was great and very reasonably priced!

I’m definitely keeping James’ card on file as my go-​to computer guy. Called him this morning with a burned out power supply, after calling a few different companies to compare prices. His estimate was MUCH lower than everyone else I called, and he met me at my workplace on my lunch hour and had my computer up and running in about half an hour. AWESOME.

My grandmother is adorable with her iPad. She loves to watch the animal videos on YouTube and reads her email from the family.
So when her wifi went out, and I couldn’t get up to Dallas to fix it, my family needed a good solution. We emailed James Duncan and explained that she needed a total upgrade from the vintage DSL and underpowered router. (

He chose and purchased all the equipment, so she did not have to do anything. He tuned up her iPad and got it working with the wireless printer. James was fast, neat and made her feel comfortable. We are super pleased with his work.

Seriously, James is second to NONE. I have several laptops I use for work and on my main laptop I was working, just doing toiling away, and a wicked bad virus came in and SHUT ME DOWN. Yeah, my language wasn’t too pretty. I had to go home, get on my other laptop, found James, called him, told him my problem and took my infected laptop to him. Next day, I got it back, almost as good as new, virus free, he put another anti-​virus and malware program on it and guess what? NO problems since. He has been there for me since with other concerns on my other laptops and the solution was as easy as a phone call, no charge, buckaroo. Our family owned business is too small for an in-​house IT person and James has been invaluable to us for more than 2 years now.
