The store needs some serious cleaning and updating. This is local for many Garland residents but sometimes I’ll find food on the shelf way past suggested use by dates and much more. It’s really difficult writing this post because the service and staff are just wonderful and a pleasure to speak with. I really hope to see some changes and even adding more to their organic selection!

This review is for the pharmacy: if you need to pick up medications in south garland this is the place to do it. The techs are helpful and the service is ridiculously higher than any other local cvs or Walgreens.

Oh no. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by my local Kroger locations, but I doubt that. This one is just pretty terrible. I was in the area. no idea why… but I stopped in here to pick up a bottle of wine. It smelled like fish. Which was strange considering I saw no seafood department in sight. I pressed on to look for the beer/wine section. The whole store looked so unorganized and dirty. They barely had any selection of wines that were refrigerated, which was annoying. I got my selection and ran over to the line-less self checkout area. I gave the guy my drivers license and just then, an employee at another register(like 4 registers down) needs help and calls out for him. Instead of finishing up the 1 second task of inputting my date of birth for the alcohol purchase, he totally bails on what he was doing for me, and walks over to help that employee. My ID was en route with him. Pissed and in a hurry, I followed him and told him to give me back my ID immediately. I mean, how dare he just take off out of my sight like that holding MY personal information? Freakin’ idiot for sure. This location stinks; both literally and figuratively.

Pretty sure I won’t be back unless I’m right there and desperate. Waited 10 minutes at seafood counter and no one even looked to see if there were customers. I finally called store from my phone to get help. Wanted top sirloin which they didn’t have in the meat section and also didn’t have in the cooler. Put a bell at that counter and stock up. Poor service and poor selection = back to Central Market which is worth the drive and price.

Like Kroger but I think this one is a little dirty… I only go here because it is close to my home.

My family has been shopping at this location for about 11 years now. We joke that we should be platinum members of the Kroger Plus program, but hey. We do however appreciate the $ 0.10 off per gallon of gas we buy at shell stations! And the fact they you never have to carry around your Kroger Card, but just give the store cashier, self-checkout system, or gas clerk your phone number to get your savings.

Okay so I am new to Texas and I never have even heard to Kroger’s, or Tom Thumbs so I looked at the reviews on Unilocal to help me decide which one to go to. 1) I decided to go to Kroger’s due to «better deals,» the only deals they have is on their specific brand. I do not mind using the knock off brand on things at ALL! But when I want to get the hidden Valley ranch there is no reason it should be 6.00 dollars for the regular brand. It is almost like they jack up the prices on everyone Else’s brand but theirs. Now don’t get me wrong they had some other brands on sale but it was just odd how much other items were priced compared to the Kroger brand. 2) Maybe it was just this Kroger’s but it was disgusting beyond belief. Most of the people I encountered were polite but there is one lady at the customer desk that was RUDE. I was waiting at the customer desk for about 10 minutes and other employees said she(the lady working the desk) would be right back. Finally she comes walking up to the desk on her personal cell phone and not even making acknowledging me. Then when she decides to get off the phone, she goes what can I do for you… Umm I am ALL about customer service and this crap she pulled I was tempted to walk out. Lets hire better people Kroger’s! 3)So my first experience at Kroger’s was TERRIBLE. I will try Tom thumbs next go around, hopefully better luck next time!

I like this location because it is clean and has a friendly staff, their pharmacy is staffed with helpful, knowledgeable people, and they mark items down for quick sell earlier than most places, so it really cuts down on the shopping bill, and it means they don’t keep bad items on the shelf or in their coolers.

One of the dirtiest grocery stores I have been into in a long time and I am a HUGE fan of Kroger. The parking lot is disgusting, trash everywhere. I have been to this location a few times this summer, early AM around 7 – 730. Baskets in the aisles, cardboard stacked up, workers standing around, BSing. Absolutely NO checkers there during this time. You have to use the self check out and I hate those darn things because there will be a snag. Every. Single. Time. Just get it together, people!

This Kroger is easily my favorite for the«everyday» needs of life. It is an older store-so not the fanciest and it doesn’t have the choices of a signature store but they work hard to keep it clean and almost everyone there is pleasant. I probably stop in at least 5 times a week for something. Once you have shopped there a while they get to know your preferences and will let you know if they have something on sale they think you would like. The guys in the butcher dept. will even let me know when there is something good in the markdown section(maybe that speaks more to the amount of time I spend digging through the markdowns and their desire to have me move along than to their generous natures). I am one of the few people who likes self checkout so I use these lanes the most and since many shy away I am almost always able to get in and out quickly. All in all, I enjoy my trips there about as much as your average red blooded American male can enjoy a trip to a grocery store.(Did I mention that they are the closest store that sells beer and wine?)

I shop at this particular Kroger food store at least 3 times a week. I love buying the freshest produce(because I juice). The customer service is great and most of the lines move along fairly well. The only issue would be that this isn’t a «Signature» store, therefore, the specialty food items are in smaller selection compared to signature stores… but, that’s not a problem. The store is clean, well stocked and I spend a lot of money and time in there during the week; I’ll keep shopping there!
