History

Established in 2000.

The Garland store was purchased and remodeled in 2000.

The founders, President, and Chief Executive Officer Dan Foster and his wife Kim opened their first pawn shop in a small Cedar Hill shopping center in 1987 at Beltline Road and Highway 67. After only a few short years, the Fosters outgrew their space and purchased 1.67 acres to build their new store on Clark Rd.

In January 1995, Uncle Dan’s Pawn — South Dallas was built on the corner of S. Hampton and W. Wheatland just off I-​20. The ease of access and high visibility from the interstate has made the South Dallas store the largest store in the company!

Since that time, the Fosters have added four additional stores to their company brand. With over 25 years of experience and six storefronts — Cedar Hill #1, South Dallas #2, Mesquite #3, North Dallas #4, Garland #5, and East Dallas #6 — as well as an eBay Store and Online Shopping — Uncle Dan’s Pawn Shops is one of the largest locally owned Pawnbrokers in the Dallas Metro Area.

With six stores, Uncle Dan’s Pawn Shops, Inc is one of the largest locally owned Pawnbrokers in the Dallas Metro Area and has been in business for over 25 years. The Garland location was purchased from previous owners in 2000. The store was completely remodeled with updated computer system and display cases. The VIP program uses a specially designed iPad system where customers can conveniently update their contact information. VIP members receive discounts coupon, advance sales notices, and special merchandise offers throughout the year.
