Chef John Peng has over 26 years of experience and received many favorable reviews from newspapers in California, Oklahoma, and Ohio. He wishes to bring the same authentic experience to Indiana as well.
Meet the Business Owner
John P.
Business Owner
John was born and raised in Taiwan where after graduating from college he moved to the United States to explore new opportunities. Having always been talented with cooking, he found himself a job as an assistant cook in an upscale Chinese restaurant in California. He was quickly promoted to head chef around the same time his son, Will, was born. He later brought his family to Oklahoma where he co-owned a Chinese restaurant. After a close call with a tornado, he quickly moved his family once again to Ohio, where he started a small Chinese restaurant of his own. Years later, this successful restaurant moved to a larger location called «Chef Peng», and it was only a few years later that he opened another restaurant in Garrett, Indiana where he and his wife currently oversee and operate.
The recipes he uses are reminiscent of his mother’s cooking — passed down for many generations. His son, Will, now uses those very same recipes to cook at home.
