We also offer fresh, hand-made croissant and pain au chocolat from Tom at Orchard Patisserie on most Tues mornings.

History

Established in 2012.

Replacing the previous Depot Express coffee shop, Perk Up! Geneva is upgrading the offerings, environment and customer service for the morning Metra commuter as well as striving to offer a comfortable destination for those looking for a quality cup of coffee, espresso or tea later in the morning. Our coffees are produced in small batches by our roaster in Chicago (w/30 yrs experience in the specialty coffee industry) and our loose leaf teas are bagged on-site in proper proportion to the cup ordered. Our goal is to meet and exceed the quality and consistency of the national chains while retaining the friendliness, courtesy and respect for our customers that you find with a local business.

Greg & Steve bring a passion for GOOD coffee to the ownership of Perk Up! Geneva. Local residents of St Charles, it’s our belief that the local/downtown shops should be patronized by the community because we’ve earned that patronage with superior service and offerings. Our location at the Metra station frequently results in Perk Up! Geneva being a visitor’s first and/or last stop in town and we strive to make both impressions favorable.

Here’s the only downside… and it’s really not the coffee shops fault. This place is right by the train station. So if you are wanting your venti soy 3 pumps of whatever latte you should arrive early before the train crowd. I was 8 people deep 15 minutes before the train arrived and ended up settling for a regular coffee… which was good.

Great coffee… very friendly and professional service. I’ve been coming to Geneva train station for three years now and never stopped in… today i needed to take a cab to the station… the cab was a bad experience (made me late for the train). I ended up being ‘stuck’ at the station for over an hour while i waited for the next one to come along. Great free wi-fi, great coffee (not like the bitter burned taste of a certain chain).
I walked in, visibly irritated by the inept cab experience I just had, …ordered a 12 oz coffee — finished it and decided to order another and a bottle of water. The lady gave me the coffee refill gratis and charged for the water bottle. I can’t say how much that small gesture meant. It turned a bad start into a day good. That gesture will make me want to return! Glad to support a local business that is so nice!

I was waiting for a train into Chicago and stumbled upon this cozy coffee shop. Friend lady there knows her stuff. She uses a thermometer to froth her milk obtain the exact temperature every time. I got a 2 pump 16 oz mocha. Delicious and excellent way to start off a lazy morning.

I needed some iced drink after an early morning train ride. I made the mistake of not picking up something to eat at Olgivie before boarding. Well, perk me up indeed! My mom and I went in while waiting for our ride. The owner (I think) couldn’t have been sweeter and made sure we were ok with our icced mochas and snacks. I don’t remember seeing this the last couple of times I was in Geneva. I now know to stop in if I take another early train into the suburbs.

if you like iced coffee, this place does it the right way with a cold press process. Fantastic! So glad ownership changed for this excellent pre-train stop. If you like to avoid the big chains but still want great coffee, you should try this place. Wide variety of products and flavors for everyone. Highly recommended.
