Great environment, good food, unique location. We came here for an early dinner with our 2 year old, and had a great experience. It’s a bit smaller than we expected, and only had a few low-top tables(and only 2 highchairs) but they made it work for us. The food was decent, and they had a pretty good selection of beers; both macro and micro.

Great lunch. Stuffed pepper soup and tacos. Fresh ingredients. Nicely prepared reasonably priced. We’ll be back.

Ordered 3 fingers of stoli and a can of redbull. received can of redbull and 3 fingers of water. Asked the waitress if she was sure she poured the right thing and she got offended. paid my tab and left. Dasani has nothing on their markup.

Don’t go here honestly ripped off by bartender Abbey. Food was cold, service slow, bartender was doing shots ignoring people, thought just a regular Wednesday night but man was I wrong. The owner should hire better bartenders.

Yeah, it’s pretty divey sports bar, but we had a good experience. My family went during a Bears game at the end of the Festival of the Vine, and there were no seats available. The very nice waitress let us know a table was getting ready to leave and cleaned it up the second they did for us. Had two beers(they have a pretty large menu) and a Reuben with Curly Fries. The sandwich was a little cold, but it wasn’t bad.

The Dam Bar & Grill is a solid three-star restaurant. It is located in downtown Geneva near the Fox River. There are no views of the river from the restaurant, however. In fact, as you might expect of a bar, it is dark with few windows. When you enter the Dam Bar, you seat yourself at either a table or the bar. I visited on a weekday afternoon and there were a handful of other diners. The place is small and the waitresses notice when you enter. Our drink orders were taken promptly. The bar had a decent selection of craft beers which included Lagunitas and Revolution. For lunch, I ordered the Reuben sandwich. The marbled rye bread was fresh and moderately chewy. The corned beef was tender and lightly seasoned. The sandwich had a good amount of sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing on it as well. Overall, I had a good experience. My only dislike of the place was the atmosphere. I had hoped to find a lunch spot with a beautiful view of the Fox. This place wasn’t it, but it was fine as a bar.

I have always gotten awesome service here and love their food! I have been here when it was trivia night so it was really busy and there was only one bartender and she did an amazing job at keeping up with everyone’s drinks and food!

It woulda been great but… I used to come here when it was another bar, River Lane Pub. These were by far, the best burgers anywhere. It was our go to burger joint(boyfriend and myself). It had a great bloody mary bar on Sundays. Great for a game. It closed. I have no idea why. Everything about it was great. Went to the Dam Bar last week. I was so excited to finally get there. What a fun and cute idea! Dam everything. I suppose it could get old, but there were lots of jokes. Until the burgers arrived. Now that we made all the jokes and enjoyed the marketing, there is no reason to come back: I got the dam burger and partner got build your own. Bun cold and the Burgers were no dam good. Neither were the fries.

I don’t remember coming here, but according to Unilocal, and the variety of pictures of me actually here, I guess I was. So that means one thing. I had a damn good time, they had damn good prices, and I think you should check this place out! Smaller bar, off the beaten path. I think we came here after a wedding, friendly staff as well as the patrons it attracted. No one is trying to get in a fight and be all bro like. Save that for Naperville. HA. Not out in Geneva much, but if I do find myself in the area, you bet I’ll be back here!

Quaint little gin mill near the river. Nice that they have some craft beers and good daily specials. Seems to be quite the locals place which is ok too. Nice vibe

Where the Locals Hang! I liked this place. inside there’s a long bar and some tables near the windows. The food is good with the steak quesadillas being a must try! Great bartenders and a really diverse crowd. watch for the hot girls from the salon across the way. Solid Joint! gdd

The best part about this bar is no one goes here. When the other bars get so crowded you can’t move or get a drink this is a great bar to walk down to and grab a beer. «crowded for them» is maybe almost all the tables are full. Servers have been decent when i was there and their drink specials are actually pretty decent. This is a great place when your tired of all the mid forty year olds being obnoxious at the bars on main street and just want to relax with friends.

The drinks were good and the patrons fun but the bartender on 11⁄20 was none too pleased when 16 of us showed up at midnight. She made it very very clear that she wanted to close early and go home and that we had interrupted those plans. Unfortunately I will not send my patrons there after the establishment I work at closes unless I know she is not working and they will be treated with respect. She shut the lights off on us 25 minutes before closing time while one of the other customers was using the restroom. We were just looking for a night cap after work, we didn’t mean to bother her with our money.

True story. I went into this bar at 5:00 on a Monday. Besides the women we came with, there were only two other women there. However the place was not empty, There was at least 40 guys, and the jukebox is playing«it’s raining men». Goodbye. Oh yeah my beer was flat too.

We stopped in here after getting a coupon in the mail. We brought our three kids, one of which has gluten allergies. The bar was pretty bare(early evening — most places downtown were dead), but we had great service from a very attentive server. They were able to customize a meal that my son could eat(and enjoyed very much!) and my other two kids cleaned their plates. Hubby and I both had burgers — FANTASTIC. Cooked perfectly, fresh toppings… no complaints. Drinks were refilled without asking, floors and tables were clean. We will definitely go back!

A cute little hole in the wall place next to the river to grab a cheap drink. I came here in between a rehearsal for a wedding next door at Riverside Receptions and the rehearsal dinner later that evening. We had a couple hours to kill, so we decided to head here. $ 2 drink special on Oktoberfest beer on a Friday afternoon. Can’t beat that. Our server was friendly and checked in on us frequently to see if we needed anything. As it was a Friday afternoon, the bar was pretty sparsely populated. However, when we went back the next night(after the wedding reception) it was packed. We grabbed a table for our group and ended up staying for a couple of hours. While the service wasn’t as spot on(due to there being so many other patrons), it was still a fun night. I’d be back if I was in the area, but I don’t think I’d make a special trip.

Ordered takeout on a Monday evening, food was prepared hot for us when we picked it up. After our three minute walk home, we arrived home to devour, only to discover that my grilled steak sandwich that i had ordered medium rare was cooked well done. Called promptly to hash out a solution with the bartender on staff at the time; an older gentleman named Craig I believe. He seemed hesitant to work out an immediate solution with me and wanted me to come back on days later in the week I was unavailable. After I explained that I could not because I work full time and I wanted my money back the same evening, he said to come in with the sandwich and we would figure something out. As I was saying thank you and that I would be there in ten minutes, he hung up n me! My boyfriend David and I hurried back to the bar assuming that they were busy. Upon our second meeting with the bartender, we showed him the sandwich which was clearly cooked well done, he proceeded to argue with us that there was pink in the middle of the steak which there was not. He handed me $ 11 for the $ 10 sandwich I ordered only after stating that the sandwich«looked like you ate quite a bit of it». Mind you, I had cut into the middle of the steak and I had one bite and my boyfriend had one bite of the steak to confirm that the steak was indeed not medium rare. The barkeep was unbelievably rude, I will never be ordering food from there again. He did not offer anything to me to keep me happy or sway me to come back in the future. If I could complain to the owners about this I would but I have had this problem here before and I sense that the owners do not give a dam about the quality of the food, service, or drink at their dam bar. I work in the restaurant industry myself and am fully aware that food mistakes are hardly ever the wait staff’s fault and i do not hold him responsible but I was appalled at the service I received this evening, especially since I patron this establishment frequently and live a three minute walk away. I will forever remember this bar as the rude bar that does not care about the customer. As a side note, the«grilled» jalapeño poppers we ordered were clearly not grilled but instead baked as there were no grill marks to be seen anywhere on the appetizer

50⁄50 mix on older younger crowd, great service, great staff, decent food, nice courtyard and all in all just a nice place to go have a drink after work or a night out with a few buds.
