Kindred Oaks

I recently attended a wedding at this venue, and was disappointed in the venue’s operation and handling of the ceremony. The quests could not hear the wedding music, and I overheard a lady stating it was loud enough, which I later found out was the owner of the venue (Elaine). The DJ we had was very professional, and played all out music as we knew it, but he cut some of the songs short and we later found out again that the owner of the venue told him she did not like the music he was playing and to cut certain songs off. She had also accused him of being on drugs. I do not believe that this or any of the other aforementioned things are her business. When you pay a lot of money for a venue the owner, manager, or caretaker should not have any input to the party itself. I also understand from the brides mother we were supposed to have gold linens to match the bridal party which were never even ordered and replaced with beige linens. Unacceptable, especially if they collected extra money for them. The location was very nice, but I would not recommend this venue for any function to include a bride’s most precious day a wedding. The bar was closed for about an hour during toasts, so if anyone needed something to toast with they were turned away. The Pflugerville police office that stated he had a contract with the venue was very unprofessional, and rude. Again if I put out $ 32,000 for a wedding with most of it going to the venue, I do not want some outsiders input on what and when something should happen or the kind of music, or how much I should drink. Elaine is a very misguided business person, as she just lost a lot of business from my Cedar Park, Leander, and Austin constituents. Also in the honeymoon suite there was a limit for the bride and groom on how much alcohol they could have in the room. There is so much more to say, but I think this is all will say on the subject. If I had know all of this was taking place Elaine would have gotten my very vocal opinion. If it were my wedding I would have her in small claims court.

Kindred Oaks was the perfect place to host the laidback, outdoor wedding my husband and I had always envisioned. We booked KO sight unseen because we were living out of state when we started wedding planning, but we were completely confident in our choice. Seeing it for the first time a few months later, our initial feelings were confirmed — we had booked a beautiful, unique event space, tucked away in the hill country. The helpfulness of the KO staff was just a bonus. The staff were so hands-​on and incredible to work with, always patiently answering our questions in every email and phone call. And how many couples get a beautiful honeymoon suite on site complete with morning brunch? One of our favorite parts of our wedding night was after all the guests went home and we just sat on the porch with the trees lit up, eating leftover dessert and debriefing. We received so many compliments from our wedding guests about the gorgeous space and if we could go back in time we would pick KO again and again.

From the first day my wife and I walked in, we knew this was the perfect place for us. We knew having our wedding down in Austin would mean that we would have to pay a little more was well worth it. Kindred Oaks had everything ready from the itinerary to the honeymoon suite! The place looked great and guest would comment on it throughout the night. The morning after was very relaxing and they give you quite a few options for in-​house cooked breakfast. Thanks again for helping have (by far) the best night of our lives.:)

Two of my friends recently got married at this beautiful venue. Oaks is located in Georgetown, TX – about a 30 minute drive from downtown Austin (without traffic). Although there was no formal paved parking lot, there was still plenty of parking space for a party of roughly 150. The wedding ceremony area they had set up was picturesque – overlooking a couple of hills. It kind of reminded me of California – maybe the sunny weather had something to do with it.
The other three «major» components of this venue also include a backyard deck for dancing, an outdoor, roof-​covered, area for the banquet, and a «LOVE» sculpture behind the open dining area (great for a photo op). From what I understand, catering isn’t offered here but the service was so seamless that it seemed like it was. Pricing varies depending on the season, which you can find here:
. This would definitely be a place I would consider getting married if I’m still living in central Texas in the future.

What a great, intimate wedding venue nestled in the hill country.
Went to a wedding this weekend at Kindred Oaks and was blown away by the scenery! I associate hill country wedding venues with a perilous backroad drive and no cell phone signal, but Kindred Oaks had neither. The ceremony was overlooking the lake and had a small waterfall to the side under a tree, which was totally beautiful. The reception area was also outdoors but under a covered pavilion – a nice one at that!
Not much else to say about Kindred Oaks other than that it’s an absolutely beautiful venue with beautiful spaces and homey amenities. Perfect for a small wedding!

This review has taken awhile to write.
Of course, there is the note that I did get married at Kindred Oaks. Maybe I am not a girl that has had her dream wedding planned since she was 4, but in my 20’s, I averaged going to 6 – 8 weddings a year. All my vacation was spent on going to various weddings in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, San Francisco, etc.
I have written for Unilocal for years, and I don’t just give 5 stars for kicks, but this is a true 5 star. When my wife and I were looking for venues, she mentioned a few places, but there were few that could handle 250 outdoors. Kindred Oaks was actually recommended to us from another venue — that speaks volumes for the respect they have from their peers as well.
We made an appointment and fell in love with the place, but also the staff especially Sarah who was with us from the beginning. We made sure that she also signed our sign in collage. Not sure about the place, go to an Open House — the first Monday of every month — free food from vendors that are regulars there. You can set up your photos, floral, catering, alcohol, DJ all there! My wife and I went to several of their open houses — no shame. It was more like another opportunity to see how things can be done at Kindred Oaks.
As many other have mentioned, there are several packages that make things easier — a florist literally down the hill so you don’t have to worry about something made days ahead that is sitting in a bucket of water ½ wilting. DJ’s that are used to the acoustics to wire up the arbor (comes with the place). The dance floor is always there (not something that is just added in like a hotel). There are lights in the trees at the ceremony site and dance floor at all times — no extra cost. Want to do sparklers, but don’t know how many or where to get them or if they’ll explode in shipment? Kindred Oaks will take care of it. Several indoor and outdoor restrooms.
A few really nice bonuses.
1.Honeymoon suite on site. Everyone leaves. You and your newlywed go into this honeymoon suite on site. King bed. Bathrobes, Large shower and jacuzzi. My wife and I relaxed. After she got out of her dress, she was finally able to eat. So we ate some more dinner as we sat on the porch overlooking the ceremony site — moonlit. In the morning, someone from Eudora’s made us cream cheese stuffed french toast, coffee, home fries, grits, fruit, and coffee.
2. Bartender services — they have a nice bar area. At the open house, we tried their margaritas. If you wanted to have special drink made, you could let the company (Hill Country Events) and they could make some for the next open house for you. They’ll help package and wheel out your leftover beer, alcohol as well. They’ll give you an estimate for how much alcohol you will need, but they’ll have the details of cups, napkins, and especially ICE
3. Facilities maintained year round. The owners are gardeners. So you’ll always have in season flowers. Wind chimes. They recently added a new arbor. They have a few swings. They are always working on making things better. They recently we did their porch. Their old dance floor was ripped up and made into a huge «LOVE» sign which is a perfect area for photos. — all included — no additional costs!!!
btw — there is a wonderful bridal suite — own bathroom, steamer, full length mirror, «minibar» set up like you’re a movie star. My wife was able to watch the ceremony start from her bridal suite (she saw the parents, grandparents be seated, she could see our friends and families in their seats). This bridal suite had a nice enough view that it could be utilized for parents with active/​crying children to be in and still watch the ceremony
There was a groom’s den as well. TV of course. But also our own bathroom and shower. (I’ve been to enough weddings where a groom’s den was the kitchen, a children’s playroom, or simply a one stall men’s restroom). Nope — the guys and I all relaxed with plenty of seating.
4. Open spaces — plenty of area for natural light. Plenty of places for little kids to run around — including a playground for the little kids. We had around 190 guests — 40 of which were children. The kids ran themselves ragged. If you want, you can bring or rent lawn games too!
5. The people. The staff are like family. As much of a planner as I am, my wife could not be assured by me. It took the confidence and experience of people like Sarah that would let her be at peace with her plans. They always had a smile on their faces. They recognized my phone number when I called. With the extras of what we wanted set up around the fireplace, the moving of gifts and sign in tables, the set up of the sign in table, the confirmation of the arrival of vendors. .. they told us — just let them take care of it.

Beautiful place for a wedding! The grounds are beautiful and they have everything done for you. 100% turnkey — you can’t get better than that. Ceremony, dinner, photography, videography, dancing. The lights in the pavilion and on the grounds were great but I loved the chandeliers hanging around the dance floor and under the pavilion the best.

My husband, Brian, and I got married on March 22^nd at Kindred Oaks in Georgetown, Texas. We were engaged for about a year and KO was the first venue we toured. They have an open house once a month where they invite vendors to come and meet with couples. This was super helpful in our planning. We were able to choose all our vendors (even our travel agent for our honeymoon!) from these open houses. There was always something tasty to eat and drink too! Kindred Oaks offers a wonderful package deal with 3 price levels (depending on food) that was very competitive with any other venue we priced. It’s also soooo beautiful out there! They have done a great job of maintaining the grounds. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how gorgeous everything was. They offer a honeymoon suite on site, so that you can stay and relax. They even bring you breakfast in the morning! Elaine and the other staff members were always super punctual about answering questions and were very easy to work with. I appreciate greatly that they are very upfront about their pricing. This is very uncommon in the wedding world! An awesome place for a beautiful wedding!

My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding at Kindred Oaks, and it couldn’t have been better. The staff — particularly Elaine — were professional, very friendly, and frequently checked in throughout the planning process. They made wedding planning very easy, despite us planning from California.
The venue is beautiful and has a great rain plan (which we experienced during our rehearsal, when it was pouring). Several wedding guests complimented our venue choice and inquired as to how we found it.
Our personal highlight was the included morning-​after breakfast (from Eudora’s Cuisine, our caterer) that we enjoyed on the porch while taking in KO’s gorgeous view of the central Texas hills.

As an event planner (Savvy Events), I appreciate a venue that has figured things out. Kindred Oaks is certainly on that list.
My first experience with Kindred Oaks was several years ago, when a personal friend was married there. It was a beautiful wedding in a gorgeous setting, and it made a lasting impression on me. KO was just as enamored with my friend as she was with them, and they kept her wedding photos displayed onsite for several years.
As an event planner, I had the pleasure of meeting Elaine and her staff and working with them. Sadly, the skies opened up the day of our planned wedding… but that didn’t faze the staff at all. They moved the ceremony from their beautiful front lawn to their pavilion in the back without batting an eye — which included moving tables, setting up chairs, and a high level of chaos for a short period of time.
Even before the wedding, Elaine and her staff were exemplary, always returning calls and emails quickly, and happily letting us look around the place on multiple site visits.
We’ll be delighted to have any future event at Kindred Oaks!

INCREDIBLE venue. SPECTACULAR views. WONDERFUL people.
I am so wholeheartedly happy that we chose Kindred Oaks for our May 2013 wedding. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect wedding, and an overwhelmingly large part of that is because of Kindred Oaks. It’s just such a calm, quiet and peaceful place to have a wedding and reception, and every detail is accounted for by their wonderful staff.
Since Day 1, when we toured the place, Heather, Elaine & the rest of the KO folks have been a joy to work with. Our 30-​day walk-​through with Elaine helped immensely, and Elaine helped us think through things that hadn’t even occurred to us. Then, as our date neared, Elaine & Co were so nice and responsive with my (okay, I admit it) frazzled-​bride emails and crazy last-​minute questions.
We did the package, and we’re both so glad we did. It was so nice to have everything handled and coordinated for us, from the food and the bartender to the security guard and the rentals. And the Kindred Oaks coordinator that was on-​duty that night handled everything with aplomb. I kept thinking ‘did we do that thing???’ only to find out it was already taken care of. The whole process was such a stress-​free experience because of it.
And we’re still getting compliments on how amazing our venue was. Everybody was reeling about how the venue created such a perfectly picturesque, natural and serene setting for the wedding.
That night, as we sat in our beautiful honeymoon suite that the staff had adorned with candles, soft music playing and two slices of our wedding cake, I literally cried (true story) because everything was so perfect, everyone was so happy and everything went right. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for any couple on the verge of starting their next chapter. They are awesome!

Kindred Oaks was the best choice we made when choosing venues for our wedding. The staff was amazing and helpful. They are quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend doing an exclusive package deal. It took a load off my shoulders, plus after the wedding is over they have a suite prepared for overnight stay. Our breakfast made by Eudora’s Cuisine was delicious. KO makes it so easy to plan a wedding stress free. Our wedding was flawless and amazing. I was married at Kindred Oaks on Dec. 3, 2011, and there just aren’t enough words to say how wonderful it is! Our day was absolutely perfect, despite the rainy weather! Their facility is absolutely gorgeous, and 1 month later, we are STILL getting compliments about how wonderful the facility is, and how nice and courteous the staff is.
We decided to move the ceremony into the pavilion at the rehearsal, and on the day of they made it look like we had planned it that way all along! They didn’t bat an eye with the changes we made at the rehearsal, and they really put me at ease. I really do think our plan B (by the fireplace) turned out prettier than the plan A would have been. So gorgeous and perfect for a winter wedding!
Elaine and her staff were so nice and responsive when we had questions/​concerns. The all-​inclusive package is worth every dime, and probably saved me from tons of extra stress. I didn’t worry about a thing on my wedding day, b/​c I knew they would have everything handled. They let me be able to sit back, get pampered and enjoy the day to the fullest. If something went wrong on my wedding day, I’m not aware of it — either nothing went wrong, or they didn’t tell me — which is exactly as it should be!
Their honeymoon suite is absolutely gorgeous! They added so many nice little touches for us (leftover flowers from our wedding, cake, leftover wine/​beer), they just made us feel right at home, and the little touches just made our night extra special.

I was married at Kindred Oaks on December 19, 2010. It was absolutely wonderful! The staff all felt like family by the time I made it down the isle. They are all very warm and open to helping you in any way they can. You get so much more then you pay for. I suspect the woman who said that it was an awful an experience was awful to work with. Elaine, Steve, Heather, and everyone at Kindred Oaks are very laid back, but they always do what they can to help and work with you. They will assist as much or as little as you want/​need. Elaine tries to help get every wedding party down the isle, and had S.G. read her contract she would have realized there was a form to fill out that communicated to Elaine and the staff exactly how she wanted the ceremony to go. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding venue to check this place out.

This place is AMAZING. This venue was a candidate for my #1 venue choice. HUGE covered patio. Extremely professional, laid-​back owners. Honeymoon Suite for the bride and groom to stay overnight.
They have an in-​house caterer, so you can’t choose your own. I wasn’t a huge fan of that rule.
Now, the real kicker is that you have to book this venue far in advance. I said, if I wanted to book for September, do you have xyz date open? And they said, you mean for September 2 years from now? We’re booked solid.
I didn’t get to have my wedding here, but I highly recommend you visit Kindred Oaks if you are considering an outdoor wedding. I loved this place. But go NOW. This place books up so far in advance that if you don’t have a long engagement, it’s difficult to have Kindred Oaks as an option.

They helped us plan and execute our wedding flawlessly; anyone that has planned a wedding knows this is not a simple task. Everyone they recommended and everything they did went off without any complication. It was clear they really cared to make our wedding as wonderful as we had imagined.
My wife and I have gotten countless complements on our ceremony, reception, and location. I can not thank Kindred Oaks enough for making our wedding day so special.

From all the things Kindred Oaks offers that other venues do not, I expected an amazing venue for my wedding. Yes, visually Kindred Oaks is just that– a sight to be seen– but behind the beautiful grounds lies some short-​sighted flaws.
Communication with the staff at Kindred Oaks was terrible. They returned emails several days later and never returned phone calls. We had some random person we never met attempt to take over the wedding 15 minutes before showtime, and she almost ruined the ceromony because she had no idea what we wanted. Their florist totally flaked on us, and there were several hidden fees not disclosed at the time of the contract.
Also, the BRIDE is the boss at a wedding. Not the bride’s mother, or sister, or even the groom, but the BRIDE. I made a very specific request to the staff of Kindred Oaks that was completely reasonable, yet they allowed my mother to trump my wishes and didn’t even bother to tell me. This oversight caused 6 people to leave my wedding before the reception because they felt unwelcome. Had Kindred Oaks communicated with me, several of my guests wouldn’t have made the trek up to Georgetown for nothing.
A wedding is a once-​in-​a-​lifetime event, and if you’re going to be in the wedding business, you need to take each one very seriously. I felt like we were treated as an afterthought. Very disappointing for such a beatiful exterior.

I got married at Kindred Oaks in April 2009 and I would tell everyone to book this venue. Not only were they super welcoming of my husband and I they were also on top of everything and so accommodating.
It POURED on our wedding day but they did so much to make the day run smoothly and their rain plan turned out better than I think our original plan would have.
Elaine, Steve and their staff have a gorgeous venue, lush green lawns, clean well kept facilities and a super romantic honeymoon suit that you get for the night of your wedding. They also wonderful vendors that they recommend.
They deserve your business so go to one of their open houses and check them out, you wont be disappointed. I wish I would have a reason to book them again!

I’ve been to two weddings held at Kindred Oaks and both have been beautiful. Kindred Oaks is about 45 minutes outside of Austin near Georgetown. Takes a while to get to but once you are there you are glad you came.
The grounds are really beautiful… this is definitely an outdoor venue type of place. Perfect for nature lovers. It’s a little rustic but not too much.
Both weddings I’ve been to seated their guests on the front lawn under beautiful trees overlooking a small lake or pond? in the distance. Behind the main house which includes two separate rooms for the bride and groom to get ready is a large covered patio perfect for guests to dine and mingle. There is also a deck like dance floor just beside the covered area. The website says the covered area can be used in case of rain — it is definitely big enough.
There is a spot for a dj and a bar and both weddings I’ve been to have had bands so plenty of room. There is even an enclosed playground for kids just far enough away where you can keep an eye them but not too close to where they bother anyone.
This place is beautiful. best appreciated in person.

I forgot to mention the handy door to door service. Hey you ladies in your 4″ heels, your sweet feet don’t have to make the trek on the rocky dirt road to the house. Why you ask? No sooner than you’ve clicked the remote to lock your car your chariot awaits… ok it’s not a chariot but a golf cart but still… you wont bust your ass on the way to seeing them say «I do».
