History
Established in 1975.
Robert M. Phillips and Associates has defended accused citizens for three decades in perhaps the toughest county in Texas. Williamson County has been justifiably rated, in various surveys, as the most severe in terms of average length of sentences in criminal cases in the entire state of Texas. It is with great pride that Robert M. Phillips & Associates can present statistical evidence to any potential client of the very low percentage of our clientele that actually receive jail or penitentiary sentences.

Mr. Phillips was the first criminal defense lawyer in Williamson County history to be Certified as a Specialist in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1989. (Fewer than 10% of all criminal lawyers in Texas are Board Certified Specialists in any field.) In 2006, he was named by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazines, among Texas Super Lawyers, an honor accorded to only five percent of all Texas attorneys. He has disposed of more than 3,000 felony and misdemeanor criminal cases at the state and federal level (everything from white collar crimes, such as bank fraud and land fraud, to possession and delivery of narcotics, murder, sexual assault, indecency with a child, and all major felonies at the state level). In Mr. Phillips’ career, spanning more than 25 years, he has tried more than 200 jury trials cases (both felony and misdemeanor), including capital murder, sexual assault, DWI, indecency with a child, and possession/delivery of drugs.
